For this spooky season I’m going to be talking about my top 10 creatures of the Cosmere! This year Brandon Sanderson released 4 secret project novels and now that the year of Sanderson is coming to an end, let’s dive into the Cosmere and take a look at some of the wondrous and terrifying creatures he created. The Stormlight Archive, Mistborn, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, etc. What book/series has your favorite creature?

Not me staying up till 5:30 in the morning to make sure I get this video up for y'all on Halloween 😅 What are your favorite creatures of the Cosmere?
Is there an illustrated Cosmere guide out yet? As a BrandoSando newb I would love a visual illustrated book of the creatures and maps ❤
@@brookeelizabeth681 I wish there was, that would be amazing! Hopefully one day!
I hope to be a big enough author one day that guys like you make videos like this about my universe
If you have any currently published books ? Do tell.
@sharmisthabera2809 afraid not. And had to pause the book I'm working on for other writting work that could be really good for my writing career
good luck!!
Inquisitors were so well written. Truly terrifying and creepy
Kaladin is a creature if you ask me. He is depression given flesh.
I completely agree Gancho
I'm SOOO glad you included Nightblood. One of my favorite characters (entities?) in the Cosmere for sure.
Agreed
The Chasmfiend has always seemed like the ultimate monster to me.
Yeah, It was terrifying just imagining a scream from that thing approaching.
Well... until i met the forests of hell. That book went to one of my favs of fantasy even if it doesn't have much history.
Also I don't read a lot...
Nice video! There’s monsters/creatures in Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell, in First of the Sun, and in White Sand that I thought you would mention!
I also really appreciate the originality Brandon brings to the table with his monsters! Within the context of his worldbuilding, it really showed me that how fantasy can move on from the classical dwarves/elves or vampires/werewolves genres.
Dude someone should make a card game called Investature where you can sommon all sorts of monsters and use different abilities depending on your deck/investatures
I agree, SkillShare is Sanderson's scariest creation to date. The way it appears everywhere makes me think there's more to the Cosmere than we might think...
i was so scared to start Sanderson. Because it's a huge series. But i just started Warbreaker and i love it! And now i want to buy all books hahaha
Glad you're enjoying Warbreaker!! It's pretty great! I'd recommend going with Mistborn or Elantris next, but you could continue with whatever series appeals to you most :)
Mistwraiths were the first Cosmere creatures I came across, too :). For some reason then I first read TFE I used to picture them very similar to the transparent jelly monsters you encounter in The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 😅 (apparently they are called Chuchu).
Just finished RoW and am caught up in the cosmere (minus a few of the secret projects) and am finally able to allow myself to watch some videos without fear of spoilers. Really appreciate your particular analysis of things. I’d love to see a number of these creatures get their own videos. I especially think the sleepless would be a great deep dive, as well as the Kolass. The Kandra would also be very interesting. Long live TenSoon.
We are rereading the Way of Kings right now and just got the to Chasmfiend again, I forgot how massive it is! Terrifying! Just makes you feel so small!
Man, your video editing is absolutely astounding. Loved this almost documentary-style look at the worlds of one of my fave authors!
I loved all the four secret projects. I hope he does something like this again someday.
Me too!!
You forgot the worst monster of them all :
Moash
Kandra are one of my favorite things about Mistborn, such a unique society
What about shades from the forests of hell?
I think is my top 1 if we talk about terrifying creatures of the cosmere.
Your editing and use of fanart is the best on youtube!!! Another fantastic video! thank you!
I would LOVE a spoiler episode filled with nothing but spren!!!
I have taken, SO MANY notes about the spren, but I'm super far behind other people. I aim to catch up with them, all, someday.
(I have this weird ambition of taking enough thorough notes on my reads through the cosmere, that I can actually find and deduce all the information that appears on Coppermind (with the exception of information sourced solely from things Brandon has said)
Excellent video! Every day is Halloween in the Cosmere! Yes, the bonus one is a Narcissistic Sword :)
I would love a full spoiler-filled deep dive into spren, maybe after stormlight 5?
Awesome top.Absolutely loved it 😊
Thanks!
You make the best videos, and we love the same books. Thank you!!!
Great stuff my man👌🏼
Thanks!
Yes, a list of all the spren would be a great topic.
Ngl... the idea of the Inquisitors still gives me the willies😳
Emotionless, Implacable, seemingly Unstoppable flesh machines of deth. that just so happen to look human....ish.
And the fact that they should be DEAD from all their spikes..... 😥😥😭
need a deep dive into spren pls !!
mmmmm no mating - pattern, my favourite character in the storm light archive
I think my favorites are the Spren. The Way of Kings is my favorite book of his.
Nooo, Kaladin totally IS a grown up, depressed Peter Pan, damn you for putting that image in my head xD
Also. Shades are pretty gnarly
Yesss i was going to mention them but completely forgot
I really need to read Warbreaker!
Sentient weapon? Already working on it in my book.
It’s a sword made up entirely of condensed Ether, which in my world is also known as material magic (including telekinesis, atom stitching, and void storage or infinite pocket).
It’s special ability is the power to separate matter.
It doesn’t slice, it just slides the matter apart.
It’s weakness is mana (elemental energy) and mana infused blades, which it cannot cut through.
Glad you added nightblood as a "bonus" you needed to include something extra after using the same creature twice. Bit of a shame that almost everything comes from just two of the worlds in the cosmere.
Love your videos
Any news about kkc?
I've tried to start Way of Kings a couple of times and just didn't get into it but I've always loved Mistborn and the Steel Inquisitors. They were both terrifying and made me sad because it had been done to them and they didn't have free will.
I would love to see your spoiler filled view on sprens!
I was kind of half listening to this video while cleaning so I may have missed it but, did you mention Ryshadium? I always thought they were pretty cool
Shades are gonna come for you for leaving them off
Ahhh I totally meant to include them while brainstorming for this video, then I completely forgot 😅
I liked a lot of Sandersons books that I read
When are we getting in depth reviews for the rest of the Stormlight Archive?
If kandra arent top three im rioting
Kandra is #2 ;)
Nightblood is most definitely alive
you should definitely read (omniscient-reader's viewpoint) it is light novel and also has graphic novel which is still on going 👍
What about the Unmade???
👍👍
There's some slight spoilers for Mistborn era 1. Wanted to show to my bother, but can't now.
Sorry for that!
When will you read Doors of Stone?
f you like sentient weapons one day when my comic comes out do I have a surprise for you
Are we sure the Sleepless originate from Roshar - I don’t think that’s confirmed
what happened to Patrick Rothfuss???
So in my language (greek) Kolos means ass and it's even with the same spelling, everytime someone described a kolos i was waiting to hear a joke.
No spren is better than Syl and no spren is funnier than Pattern.
True!
telling how can an inquisitors be killed is a spoiler
