    What You'll Learn in TouchDesigner Beginner Crash Course:
    - The fundamentals of the TouchDesigner paradigm: Never used a node-based programming environment before? I walk you through the basics of TouchDesigner logic and workflows, explaining exactly what nodes and wires are and how they work. This includes a walkthrough of the basic settings and preferences you can leverage in TouchDesigner that set you up for success and make your life easier.
    - Discover all six of the operator families used by TouchDesigner, and how they integrate with the TouchDesigner workflow. I’ll walk you through an example project for each of them. Operator families include…
    Signal processing and channel data (CHOPs)
    Compositing and texture manipulation (TOPs)
    Procedural 3d and rendering (SOPs)
    Data processing (DATs)
    Materials and shading (MATs)
    User interface and controls (COMPs)
    - Real time generative graphics basics: From generating graphics using dynamic noise data in real-time to audio-responsive 3D geometry, we’ll go through multiple examples of how to start creating beautiful generative content in TouchDesigner. Interactive, immersive, generative media is the reason you’re investing in learning TouchDesigner, and my course helps you get started creating it right away.
    - Simple, day-1 preset system: Most TouchDesigner preset systems are too complicated for beginners. With my day-1 preset system, anyone can start creating presets without any prior TouchDesigner experience, which is a massive advantage most people don’t have when they’re starting out.
    - Time-saving keyboard shortcuts and application tricks: This should be intuitive, but it’s not. Having these under your belt from the get-go is huge time-saver.

    Thank you for your explanation. It is very professional and thorough. It not only teaches us the operation steps, but more importantly, you explain the principle and mechanism behind it. Thank you so much for your dedication.

    man that is so cool. you did a great job explaining it. my favorite part is using the movie file in into the color map on phong. didn't realize you could do that. so sick! loving your videos more and more. excited to dive in deeper and keep experimenting

      Thanks for the kind words! We're glad you're enjoying our content! That's a great way to texture 3D content with 2D textures! Once you're done this course there are some great content making tutorials at the end you'll enjoy :)

    Man... How long i searched for that geometry input xD
    Thanks for amazing tutorial 👍

      No problem! It likely wont be the first or last thing you spend a while searching for but glad we could help with this one :)

    Thank you a lot for this series! Is there a way to output the audio (to be able to hear the mic or the audiofile in while playing)?

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely, you can create an Audio Device Out CHOP and plug your audio signal from the mic or audio file directly into it (before you do all the analysis).

    Hey I am following this tutorial in the latest version of TouchDesigner and I am not getting any kind of feedback on my operator windows of the CHOPs. Is this normal? Do I have to toggle a setting or something? Please let me know. Thank you so much for these tutorials

    Thank you so much for making this course ! I have some problem at 16:48. My sphere1 can not be rendered in render1 after i set up the light. Can anybody please help me ?

      Our pleasure! I would double check that the purple render flag is turned on for the In SOP that is inside of the geo1 Geometry COMP. If that flag is turned off, you won't see the sphere in your output. Elburz starts covering flags around 14:50 in the video, and turns the rendering flag on around 15:43, if you'd like to see an example.
      If the In SOP's render flag is turned on, also double check that the render flag is turned on for the geo1 COMP. If both of those render flags are set to on, double check in your Render TOP that the Geometry Parameter is set to '*' (without the single quotes). That'll make sure that it's pulling in and displaying the correct geometry. Hope that helps!

    i have the same set up as you however my video does not play in the render node. it works perfectly fine in the geo node but it just shows me a white sphere in the render - how can i fix this?

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  Před 2 měsíci

      A couple things to check:
      - Have you assigned the Phong MAT to the Geometry COMP? If it's not assigned, you'll see the Torus within the Phong MAT's viewer textured correctly with the image, but the noisy sphere in the Geo COMP will still be grey.
      - Have you added a light to the scene? Without this, the rendered shape will be black.
      - If you have added a Light COMP, have you adjusted the Dimmer parameter on the Light page? If this is set too high, the shape in the Render TOP will appear white.
      - Do you see any error messages? This might give further clues about what the issue might be. Hope that helps!

    Hi Interactive, thanks for these videos. Subbed to the channel. I was just wondering - how would you make the blob here look smoother and less n64? Upping the stats on the sphere, or are there other tricks? I notice it's a bit gritty here, in a digital aliased kinda way. Happy new year!

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Great question! You can increase the frequency (polygon mode) or rows/columns (mesh mode) of the sphere to smooth things out. It's also worth trying some of the different primitive types that are available (primitive, mesh and polygon especially) to see which one performs and looks the best for your needs.
