Salt tea or “ Bhod ja “ and Sattu “ or Tsampa “ are staple diet of Tibetans. “ Pha “ as called in Tibetan is the mix of Tsampa with Bhod ja is primarily a diet for high altitude as you correctly guessed. Habit they seems to inherited due to being in proximity to Tibet. I have seen Tibetan cultural influences in Ladakh, Himachal, Sikkim and Arunachal but it is fascinating to witness such phenomena in Uttarakand. Thank you so much Harish ji

bohot sahi, sari bhartya bhashaon pe sanskrit ka prabhav hain, kuch bhasha toh uccharan bhi sanskrit ka follow karti hain, aur hindi pe bhi sanskrit ka prabhav jyada hain, isliye jo koi shuddh hindi ka prayog karte hain, jisme kam se kam urdu ho, woh bhasha bharat k sabhi hisso mein samjhi jaati hain, mujhe kannada, ttelugu aur malayalam k kai sare shabd samajh aate hain jab mai kabhi unki picturein dekhta hun, and i also believe everyone should also learn sanskrit, the richness and openness and vastness in literature of sanskrit is nowhere to be found, even today some 3.8 million sanskrit texts r yet to be read and translated whereas the overall texts of greek civilization r not even 20 thousand, imagine a student learning chanakya for political administration, kalidas for literature, sushrut, charvaka for medicine, bhaskara for astronomy, and maths, mdhava for trignometry, and vatsyana's kamasutra for sex education, i mean everything is available, bus uthane ki deri hain

Harish ji, I watched your vlog and very very interesting. Today, during the lockdown time, I watched your Kedernath, Badrinath yatra and loved it so much. The Badrinath guide home where you ate and had so many lengthy conversation was the high light of your trip to the place. The last Indian village - Mana. Definitely, there is lot of resemblance with our culture of eating style in cold weather. They call the tea - Marja - which you can translate in Tibetan language - Mar- Butter and Ja - Tea. Sattu - Tsampa and we also eat the same way. It is very healthy, energetic and gives you long lasting strength to hold on the journey especialyl and to do hard labour job. However, you need to burn this otherwise, it will take long to get hungry for your next meal! May be they are the decendents from Tibet or Himalayan region and settled there? Anyways, good to know that there is a village - Mana where you can go and see and support them. Fantastic coverage and very informative and simple way to understand your experience through Visa to Explore. Lovely lovely to watch and keep rocking. Cheers.
