Hello and thank you for bringing this information to youtube. My mother in law has glaucoma and has been declared legally blind. She can still see at a very low level. She has already had cataract surgery to both eyes and they said the best we could do is forever put drops in her eyes to keep the pressure low. This make so much sense, draining the fluid off. OMG, this eould be life changing for her. She is in very good health otherwise. She is 83 and takes medications. She lives with me and i watch her struggle so i began searching, knowing we are very close to much healthcare technology coming out and i found you. She is on Medicare. Is this surgery covered by Medicare? I was looking at Irisvision glasses but if you can do this it totally negates the need for bulky expensive band-aids. I can also call her medicare and check. This is awesome. Thank you-

Hi, is this method FDA approved? And also, opening up the drainage in the Shlemm's canal, and leaving it like that, won't it close up again after some time?

The iTrack device is approved by FDA.
The canal itself typically stays open with time, the iTrack is also “clearing out” the blocked drainage system and collector channels with “visco elsastic”.
With that said, in theory the canal may close over time and that is why we typically place a stent (edited out of the video) to help keep the drainage system open and functioning long term.

That was a very encouraging video. Is it available now to be used by my surgeon possibly? Just wondering. Thanks Peter.

Thank you for your question. We would recommend calling your physician to inquire. It is possible that your surgeon offers iTrack.

@@ClearChoiceLaser thank you so much for your response. I just came back from my surgeon this morning, and I did ask him about the I track advance, but I think he said that he felt there was safer, but it went no further, because at this time, my right eye hasn’t gone up as much as my left eye, which we treated with the laser. The problem is, I can’t have laser surgery in my right eye because of trauma from past surgeries, and I’m so afraid of the side effects from medication. That’s why I’m hoping I can have some type of surgery. That’s very safe for my right eye. Thank you again. Peter.
