me too, i have almost no swealling, but it bugs me to wear the compression garment at work, specially when somebody hugs me XD, so i bought an underarmor compression shirt, and wear it at work, and at my home i wear the traditional garment XD

My surgeon told me that you have to try to ween off of it so that your body doesn't rely on it & adjusts to being normal. So after 6wks...just wear it during the day & off at night for 3 months.

Great information. I had gynecomastia lipo this morning and my surgeon expects me to wear the compression garment for 6 weeks - day and night! Common sense told me that that makes no sense so it's good to see that my instincts were correct. Today is Thursday and my first post-op appointment is Monday and I plan to wear the garment until then and after that, switch to a tight undershirt that I ordered online.
Also, the compression garment I have is more like a bulletproof vest. It's black (not subtle at all) and I can barely move. I look like Frankenstein just walking to the kitchen. How anyone could expect a functioning human being to wear this thing for 6 weeks is beyond me.

So I'm curious, do you still think not wearing the compression garment for 6 weeks was the best decision? I'm almost 3 weeks post-op lipo and I'm wearing a compression garment and ab board. Did you get the final results you wanted? Please share. Thank you.

Hi, Rommel. Yes! My stomach is completely FLAT! I'm extremely happy with the results. I'm still wearing the compression garment and AB board and will continue to wear it until the end of August (3 months post-op). If you wanna chat some more, feel free to e-mail me at wcouselo03@gmail.com

@@WCouselo03 Sorry. I just saw this and did not want to be rude and not respond. My results were great and I think I healed just as quickly without the garment as I would have if I had worn it as instructed (of course, there is no way to know for sure). Also, I had three post-op follow-ups at various points during my recovery and my doctor never indicated that he was aware I was not wearing my undergarment. He was always very pleased with my progress and that was that. I hope your experience was a good one.

I was told i have to wear mine day and night for 4 months after each procedure. They said that the marena garment reacted with the laser from the laser lipo and helped trim me down. I've paid over 300.00 in garments for this and I'm beginning to think its not true based on my research. Do you have an opinion on the matter? I've already had mine on since 3-19 day and night with exception of showers.

Hello Dr., I have a related question. I'm 30, male. I had a (non-laser) liposuction from face, lipo-buccal fat reduction, neck (necklift), accompanied with masseter reduction 16 days back. I couldn't manage to get a compression garment, because I couldn't find one. Initially I had lot of swelling, but there's still significant swelling.
I'm in search of a compression garment, but since more than 2 weeks have passed already without it, does it matter now whether I wear one or not? "Matter" in the sense that will it help me to see my end result faster if I start wearing the garment now? I'm expecting my face to narrow down quite a bit since I have both liposuction of subcutaneous and buccal fat, masseter and also a bit of mandibular bone smoothing right below the masseter areas.

hi! loved what u said as suits me fine.. but i read n even doctor said that when the fat is removed the empty spaces remain n wearing a pressure garment squeezes the hollows n make the skin stick to it.. but if we dont wear garment than those hollows are again filled with soft fat n fluids making us fat again.. sounds logical.. can u pl clearify n explain this.. as everyone i was also in extreme pain with blisters. n even ended up with bad burns n blisters making impossible for me to wear garment even though the doc insisted it was just not possible.. now i m really depressed what if my surgery is wasted even after so much money and pain etc.. doc pl help us we need yr advice.. ty

Thank you I am now in love with you I hate that damn compression garment. I feel like a sausage that gasps for air. I wore it the first week 24/7. Today I was told I could or should wear it 12 hours a day. Aesthetic value, I had a procedure done not to impress anyone, but me i had cancer and after my pet scan was clear my body had turned to putty. liposuction was much cheaper than my cancer cost. They asked me if I worried about scars. No, I am just glad to be alive. Lots of things they don't tell you after your cancer treatment ends. I have always been fit. I use to tell the nurses- I look like Mitch McConnell(ha)

I feel that the garment gives me more bruising because it's so tight. I read one doctor's comment saying that in some abdomen lipo patients he only recommends it to be worn a week, after that it doesn't make any difference in the results so I took mine off after a week because of this but after watching other women and doctors emphasizing how important wearing a faja is I put it back on because I am so swollen right now I don't want to jeopardize my results. I'm wondering if the comment I read is from the same doctor on this video. I wish more doctors would say it's okay so I won't base my decision on one yay out of hundreds of nays. Any advice from some one who stopped wearing the faja after a week?
