Creative Communities on a Shared Island

The Shared Island dimension of the Creative Ireland programme has been working to enhance connection and deploy creativity on an all-island basis since 2022, as part of the Government's €6 million allocation from the Shared Island Fund. Some of the outstanding shared creative opportunities since this launch have included projects such as circus performers from Tipperary and Belfast sharing skills with each other, community dementia choirs across Fingal, Antrim and Down and a Creative Climate Action project bringing together cross-border coastal communities in Carlingford, among many more.
Over the next two years, we will roll out a programme of new creative projects that will bring more communities together and engage with all communities and traditions to build consensus around a shared future.
