Michelle Johnston - what can you say? She is fierce in everything she does.... "Staying Alive", "A Chorus Line", "Showgirls", the Tony Bennett special, "Chicago", "Dick Tracy", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"... I see her in movies and television all the time and she' s a big time choreographer I hear. WOW - Work it out miss thang!!!
if this is true, tell her what i liked the most about this part: her scared face as a little girl... and then suddenly she transformed into the most powerful woman!! nobody could stop her and she ate everyone!!! until music stopped again... WOW... i'm almost crying remembering all this and thinking that i'm not dancing anymore :(
This is incorrect. Mrs. Wayne Gretsky (Janet Jones) plays a different dancer in the movie. Her character is wearing a gray and yellow crop top with grey skin tight dance pants. She was the one who forgot her audition number. She was a great dancer too during the audition portion of the movie.
Rusty Phresh The other dancers in the film are also doing 80's dances but they don't hit the marks like her. I'm just saying even if she were to adapt to today's style, she would blow everyone else out of the water because of how gracefully she moves.
@maelgie- that is not fosse's daughter. fosse's daughter is cristine- not bebe. bebe later danced with michael jackson and was the dance captain on showgirls
The people who made this film took one of the greatest musicals ever, groundbreaking, & a real piece of Musical Theatre history -and turned it into a piece of drek. That took some real concentration.
This was made in the 80’s so it’s fitting for its time . Dance is art and can be performed however one wants to express themselves no matter what decade. Also this is a specific genre of dance in this piece called Jazz
@maelgie the funny thing is, that's Bob Fosse's daughter lol... you'd think that she'd be pretty good at dancing, what with Broadway legends for parents haha. Her character is supposed to not have her shit together, though - she's really scatterbrained and stuff in the original play.
MyBabyLikesToBeBop On stage, "Chorus Line" was a show filled with talented dancers who were convincing in their roles as struggling performers. The film is more like an episode of "Glee." The show on stage did not insult its performers by cutting away from their fine work just to watch a woman pacing around in a dressing room back stage. (It was a crime what Attenborough did to the "I Can Do That" number.) Cassie's dilemma was related to her work, not some tacked-on romance with the director of the new show. There was no need on stage to have a camera to work around members of the cast who really could not dance, and the numbers were all memorable. Sorry, but when I saw the movie I had to turn to my date and ask "Did they do the 'T&A' number, yet? I can't remember."
Even 30 yrs later, this dance sequence still looks stunning. That girl in green is absolutely phenomenal!
Girl in the green fantastic! I could keep watching that part over and over! lol💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

As a kid I wanted to grow up to be the girl in green.

Hands down, I totally agree. She became Mrs. Wayne Gretsky.

BB is amazing thank you for posting this
she is amazing... no one dances like this anymore.
Yes she is, and I used to toss off to this scene back when I was around 14/15 years old.
Nobody dances like this anymore because the style is very 80s Hollywood jazz dance. She is a very good dancer though
Rusty Phresh The other dancers in the film are also doing 80's dances but they don't hit the marks like her. I'm just saying even if she were to adapt to today's style, she would blow everyone else out of the water because of how gracefully she moves.
Sara Wong She's a natural.
Dance styles change and so does choreography!👠🎽

My limit is stepping and clapping. I'm hopeless!

Those dance moves just scream 1980s. No one dances like that anymore.
I still do. I like to get in a headband and some legwarmers and dance like this around the living room
Lol.

" Got , I hope I get it " It's a long number because it includes the dance trials .
It's a derivation of the the Broadway Song by Marvin Hamlish called, "God I hope I get it."
Who made this song that she/they are dancing to?
WORK IT GURL !!!
Her name is Michelle Johnston.
yep.
@beautndabeast do you mean the character or the actress who plays her? The one dancing in the video is Bebe Ü

@JuliaWasHere i'm loving that comment!!

the girl in the grey is supposed to be a ditzy blonde.
Bob fosses daughter on the left.
She played Gay in Show Girls

It's italian;)
why is the talking in another language but the songs aren't
Except for "Annie" and "Paint Your Wagon," this is probably the worst movie adaptation of a good Broadway show I ever saw.
+Clare Quilty Seeing how much I've liked this movie, I can't imagine what the Broadway show must have been like...

This movie is an abortion, compared to the original show.
Lose the spanish...this was made in English.
its called a dub. get over it. It's also not spanish, its Italian.
