It’s hard to say. SNES has more graphical effects and is brighter, while PCE is darker and looks cooler from an artistic perspective for me, and it has better cutscenes
.. and PCE do have a better soundtrack but yeah both are totally awesome games and worth to play....
Honestly I like that opening guitar rift and the first stage design better on SNES better as well as the pre boss music on SNES. But there's something about the darkness of the PC Engine that grabs me from Stage 2 on. Plus I like the alternate routes and getting Maria on PC Engine.

São jogos diferentes, mudou muita coisa mesmo, até alguns elementos da história. Mas acho que dá pra aproveitar ambos, com o Drácula X sendo um pouco mais difícil e o Rondo sendo um jogo mais completo. No video só matou um pouco a gameplay quando no dracula X o player caiu das pilastras e seguiu pela rota alternativa não canônica! Mas tá valendo... Bom video!
O snes parece ter gráficos mais bem feitos mesmo sendo mídia cartucho. Acredito q dava pra adaptar o game de forma fiel mas havia contrato c a NEC q impedia de see um perfect port. O psp ganhou um remake da hora
pude jugar y terminar la versión pc engine, me parece que tiene una paleta de colores mas oscura, tiene un ambiente mas tenebroso. técnicamente en super nintendo se muestra un poco mas, hay transparencias, colores mas intensos(obvio por la paleta principal de 15bits), por otro lado en pc engine las escenas habladas con audio calidad cd, el arte de algunos niveles y personajes compensan todo, en el aspecto de sonido me sorprende super nintendo que bien suena la banda sonora, pc engine tiene calidad cd así que tiene esa ventaja, los fx algunos se escuchan mas primitivos que los de snes, eso pasa casi siempre
Yo aun tengo mi cartucho de snes y es un gran juego ahora que pude comprar los 3 collections de PS4 veo que rondo es un gran juego también.

This version of the pc engine is really beautiful graphically and the soundtrack is spectacular.
I don't think rondo of blood looks bad or anything but I like the visual style of Dracula x better and on that note I think rondo of blood is a little overrated but still a great game...
Rondo of blood gets the same hype that panzer dragoon saga gets which is another extremely overrated game but it's rare so people don't think you've played it to say otherwise...
Honestly I wish people would just tell the truth and say it's a good game but I like it most because it's rare...

@@cps1247 gaming publications also gave metal gear solid 4 a perfect score but it's far from a perfect game. I can understand why publications gave high marks to rondo blood back in the day because there wasn't anything that looked quite like it especially from the Castlevania franchise.
Some of the push back I give rondo of blood is because of all the hate and criticism given to Dracula x just because it isn't rondo of blood. It's okay that Dracula x isn't rondo of blood! It's a different game all together and I consider that to be a good thing...
I prefer the gameplay on the PC engine version

Can't compare, they are completely different games. However, Rondo of blood gives more vibes of classic Castlevania games and of being the prequel to Symphony of the Night.

nunca entendi o pq disso, mesmo o snes sendo bem mais potente que o PC engine, o dracula X tem menos fases, menos inimigos, músicas com qualidade reduzida, além de parecer mais lento e com resolução de cenários mais baixa

Já comparou jogos de luta como Fatal Fury e Art of Fighting? No PCE é bem mais próximo do Neo Geo e muito melhor que no Snes. Isso graças ao CD e expansão de memória.
Dracula x tem mais cores, mais vivas
More content can be stored, that's the advantage of CD technology vs cartridges. But cartridges have also advantages, like no loading time and direct access to the data for example. The resolution on SNES and PCE is the same, it's 256x224 on both systems.

Eu só joguei bastante a versão do super Nintendo essa do pc engine cd e a primeira vez que eu jogo
A versão do SNES se não me engano são 16 megabit e a do PC engine é em cd com mais ou menos 400 ou 500 mega bytes. É lógico que em cd tem a vantagem da memória que é bem maior pra por mais fases, cutcenes e músicas em cd.
I like the enhanced graphics on SNES but oc engine has another character to choose so 👍👍👍 to pc engine. Maybe if super nes version had added 8 more meg's and added 4 characters it be a bet! The music on SNES is very well orchestrated next to the original cd version! 😃
Well, I feel that it is unfair to make a comparison, because they are not the same game. SNES Dracula X and PCE Rondo of Blood are different. The stages are different and also the boss for each stage are different too. They look more like a sequel or prequel to each other. I love them both but I can't say if one is better than the other because they are different.
Dracula XX was planned as a sequel but the 1995 Kobe earthquake caused a lot of development data to be lost. What remained was cobbled together for a release as retelling of Rondo instead to meet company fiscal demands.
Loved this game, gonna say I felt the PSP version was hands down the best rendition though.
It was kinda ugly and felt easier than the original.

Great looking and good games on both systems, the SNES has better graphics, the PCE CD has better sound. The SNES version is much harder too, Super Castlevania 4 is better than this game imo.

de gráficos e animações o snes supera. porém, o pc engine usava CD rom, permitia musicas maiores, assim como fases maiores e cutscenes animadas. e na verdade é outro jogo, eles são muito diferentes. seguem a mesma história, mas quem jogou sabe que só tem o visual parecido mesmo.

Controversial opinion: I like the SNES version more. Its graphics look better and it presents more of a challenge than the PC Engine version.
Lmao, that's only because you've never played the PC Engine in all of its entirety. Will multiple endings for replay value, and the PC Engine game is 100% the more difficult game overall by a large margin (minus the Dracula fight), and stage 1 possibly looks better but everywhere else the PC Engine easily outclasses the SNES X.
It's ok to like it better, no sense in sounding stupid and saying it's because it's harder and looks better, because neither of those are remotely true. Just say it's the one you played and the one you like, and that's the end of it. Making up dumb bullshit is an asinine thing.

Rondo of Blood is a much more impressive game overall, but one thing I will say is the coloring on Dracula X is INSANELY better. The colors look so flat in RoB; they used single value shading and highlighting instead of shifting color temperatures like X uses. One of the first things they tell you in color theory is to never shade/highlight using simply the darker/lighter versions of the base color, but to use warmer or cooler tones to really make it pop. RoB could have really used someone else picking the color palettes. I hope someone makes a mod doing that some day
@@Nero_Jerographics and coloring definitely looks better on snes but rondo has more enemies, better level design and enemy placement. Cutscenes are also better in rondo. I grew up with x and loved it as a kid but always wanted to play rondo
Plus that banging soundtrack alone 🔥 I know it's the same but it sounds so fresh and crisp on the snes

Super Nintendo has level 1 beat by a thousand miles. No doubt about it. Super FX chip effects in the background. After that, PC Engine has it.
CD ROM really saved Rondo of Blood. If you take out the extra storage it would have been wrecked by the Super NES version, which had better level design, better bosses, and much better graphics.
