This rework is prob the most shitass rework out of any towers tbh, now you have to micro commander everytime you aciddentaly use CtA twice

New commanders ability lasts for 12 seconds so u can still chain but theres a downtime of 4 seconds
I’m just imagining the sheer amount of Strats that would now require accelerator or engineer for 2+ players because you can’t get as high of a dps now with that coa downtime.
I don't really mind the Firerate adjustment (55%>50% on max) aswell as Commander getting lead detection for some reason? The cooldown being 40 sec is a nerf but it just means you have to be careful using COA with the chain being less effective now as well as the APC tanks being mid at it's best, my only biggest issue to this rework is his range being smaller..
Props to the modelers making Commander look more polished and fit with the games "modernized" feel to him, the voicelines being changed is okay probably just to removed John's affiliation with the game.

Wow, i hope this isn't going to change the tens of hundreds of strategies that rely on commander to win hardcore :D
Oh it will, constant coa up time is literally the glue of most strats for high dps, and the apc spawns is not nearly enough to compensate for the 10 seconds where such dps boosts does not exist. Of course the tower will still be used, but expect strats to be much more complicated now to make up for the fact that you have to deal with what is effectively a 25% total dps decrease of your towers.

Honestly, this seems like they were trying to cover up the fact that they significantly nerfed the tower by saying "Commander Rework." The commander doesn't look much different than before, so I would barely consider it a rework.
Old Commander: 30 second fire rate buff cooldown + inf commanders
New commander: 40 SECOND COOLDOWN 3 COMMANDERS ONLY WHICH MEANS NO PERFECT CHAIN UNLESS YOU HAVE 4

Commander is good if you max them all out its just 5% less fireate then before and you get tank ability pretty good tbh

Cooldown flag gives 20% firerate buff for 1 minute, but 3 max commanders give 75% of the time 50% and if not, then the same buff as the cooldown flag, that gives 3 max commanders an average firerate buff of 42.5%. Not to mention that commander doesn't last 1 minute unless you place it in the very late game, but rather for the entire game.

Ever heard of a funny game called tdx? Although John and below are good friends it's just a bad business move to use johns work in tds although that could probably not be the reason it's just the one I think makes the most sense
