Demonising a nuclear superpower is the most idiotic and insane policy of the US and Europe, especially since Russia has not demonstrated any aggression towards any NATO state. On the contrary, NATO has continued to expand her alliances to the borders of Russia, and is obviously a most aggression and animosity driven military alliance towards Russia.
LOL Russia was the only one to invade another country. NATO always refused Ukraine's requests to join NATO. This war is about Putin stealing Ukraine to add to his thief dom. NATO was just his excuse.

In Australia's media we'd never ever get any coverage of that statement by Lavrov. The misperception achieved in the minds of the hoi polloi is mainly achieved by omission. So technically our media hasn't lied. But it has effectively lied by refusing to convey anything such as that important statement by Lavrov. On the other hand if say a Russian missile should damage a housing estate or hospital we get all the coverage in the world of that such an event.
