    Yeah this is definitly one of the best guides I have seen.
    Someone who actually explains how FADC works and not just says '' well just do FADC and you're good '', seriously this sucks to get down and its a pretty important factor to combo shit and punishing people.
    Its frustrating when you do 1 single jump and that guy punishes you for half your lifebar and when he slips you can barely take away a quarter of his.

    I remember watching this last time and learning from these 2 videos you made, back in 2015 when I first bought USF4. For this video to appear in my CZcams feed again makes me remember the good old days of learning street fighter from the ground up. Like legit basic. I went from not doing combos to just simply anti-airing every players that jump on me every time and keeping them away with my fireballs as Ryu. And tbh I even surprised myself on how far I got just doing those. This might be a little late considering SFV has already been released, but thanks for this guide man! We need more people like you in the community.

    Great job man. I'm a Marvel 3 player who started playing Street Fighter Alpha 3. For me back in the day doing a double QCF or QCB motion was just stupidly easy. Then on my transition to other capcom fighters I started noticing and hating, that things were being simplified/made easier. In order to do a super in Marve vs.Capcom 1 you only had to do one QC motion. Everything became just much simpler. I then liked that it was simpler but still used to be very dexterous at doing Double motions. Then I stopped playing SF in general and just kept on playing MK trilogy and Marvel and I ended up fight extremely difficult to do double motions. Now I'm trying to learn USF4 and this guide was just perfect. Answered many questions I had. Keep up the good work man

    Very simple explaining. Maybe Capcom should hire you...the most difficult thing I'm trying to learn in usf4 is the linking from light into medium or hard. The timing is so specific it's insane . And the next obstacle is the ex focus and then cancel it while doing a combo. Insanely difficult. In this street fighter 5 is way more easy. Super video 👍👍

    I am a Tekken and Mortal Kombat player so I kinda find the lack of buffering and the linking/chain system counterintuitive. I also have some questions.
    1.Can you buffer counterpokes and punishers during your blockstun?
    2.When canceling special attacks into focus attacks, is the focus attack interruptible and is forward dashing afterwards into normal attacks interruptible?
    3.Canceling normal attacks into red focus is not hit confirmable, you have to commit right?
    4.Does hit confirming play a part in SF or do you just generally have to commit to your options? I imagine target combos are hit confirmable into special cancels.
    5.Do you face ambiguous cross up situations on your wake-up in matches where you can't be sure which side the attack lands on?
    6. I am pad player. Does playing on pad limit execution where the high execution characters become unplayable as in max damage combos become too hard to do on a pad as there are 6 face buttons? Is claw grip mandatory or do I just have to learn stick to properly play the game?
    7. What are some versatile "all around solid" characters? The ones that don't go worse than 4-6 against anyone? Do these characters fall in upper mid tier on tier lists or how are they? Can you do well by just playing one character or do you have to have secondaries?
    8. How is the game in terms of effectiveness of rushdown/zoning? Is there a balance?
    I don't have SF4 on PS3, I might be getting SF5 for PS4 when it comes, just because it's gonna be a popular title and especially if the netcode is good. I don't really have much of an FG scene where I live so that also plays a part. I have become somewhat interested in SF just because I kinda like the way footsies are played in this game. Something that concerns me though is the fact that there aren't that many tools each character has, which inevitably leads to 7-3 match-ups or worse existing in 2D games.

    Fantastic videos man, but I am having issues with button input. For example if I make it a conscious effort to press LP, MP, MK together to try and initiate a red focus, it doesn't do so. In fact, I've only ever been able to do a red focus on accident via button mashing.
    Other times, when attempting to pull off a super combo I often accidently use a special. This happens most when attempting the double forward scoop and punch that C.Viper has, where I'll just do the zigzag punch special. It's all very frustrating and tedious when I make a conscious effort to remedy these issues.

    I'm new to the Street Fighter scene, I mainly just play Melee which is super technical. Anyways, I was wondering if it would be smart to cancel Reverse Specials (after blockstun) into plain focus attacks rather than dash canceling beforehand, as a mixup. I feel like this would be pretty good if they're baiting out the Reverse for a punish so you grab focus armor off of it and a punish of your own with the focus attack itself. Also, can focus attack canceling be used for combos? Like, if i were to get a hit with a focus attack and dash cancel it, would the animation end quick enough for me to be able to tack on more hits before hitstun ends? I've never played Street Fighter in my life, but I'm looking forward to possibly getting into it and was wondering if someone could answer my questions.

    Since I'm playing the pc version and waiting for the ultra upgrade which will come out at the 8th of august FADC DP is minus now which allows people to punish them much more easily if its was forward dash but does that apply for decapre since i see a lot of people get away with it with her one? Just want to study the game more so i know how to handle the new cast.

      No, they work on the same principle but you can't chain into them from a chain. You can LINK into them from a Chain, though.

    I thanks for the great guides, this question is to anyone who can help. When ever I’m going for super moves or ultra moves I just end up doing ex instead. I do double forward crouch or back crouch and I’ll do a ex hadoken or ex spin kick. (I’m using Sakura) is their anyway to stop this...? I’m wasting bar I don’t wanna spend when I just want the character to do a ultra move. The ultra will come out but that’s after wasting several bars doing the input multiple times.

    • @MetalMusicMan
      @MetalMusicMan  Před 3 lety

      You must be hitting one of the three punch/kick buttons before the others. Using the macro buttons for PPP/KKK would alleviate this if you don't want to work on your button timing.

      Every little piece builds up and it gets easier with each new thing you learn. If you're interested, you can definitely do it! You might be surprised how good you get once you put your mind to it :)

    Most of the time when i try to do i.e: Ryu's Metsu Hadoken, I input the command and the press the 3 punch buttons, but it mostly comes out as a EX shoryuken. so frustrating! i dont know if i dont have the right timing or whatever but my god do i get way too worked up about this lol.

    • @MetalMusicMan
      @MetalMusicMan  Před 9 lety +1

      If you get EX Shoryuken instead of Ultra 1, that means you aren't doing the Double Quarter Circle Input correctly. Check your input arrows in training mode. And remember that you can't do inputs FAST until you learn to do them CORRECTLY :)

    Can someone please explain the button inputs on how to do the ultra combo

    • @RayLJL
      @RayLJL Před 9 lety

      +kartunes That depends on the ultra combo. Ultra combos like Ryu Metsu Hadoken is a repeated motion of down, down-forward, forward and all three punches. Whereas his metsu shouryuken is the same motion but with kicks. some ultras have this motion but instead of rolling forward, you roll back: down, down-back, back all punches or kicks. Charge ultra combos are trickier since you need to charge for roughly 2 seconds, though it does vary from characters, and input the motion after the charge. The motion is usually, charge back, forward, back, forward. The wonky charge move known as a "triangle motion" is charging down-back, forward-down, down-back, and up. Hope this helps!

    I just got Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, and I can't seem to find any standard attack combinations that combo into each other. Pulling off specials is also near impossible because I'm playing with a keyboard, and I can't even get past the 2nd stage. Can someone please help? Not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong.

      Nothing wrong with trying different characters! Guy can Link cr.lk into st.MP fairly easily, and st.MP target combos into st.HP, which is special cancellable. That's something you can try if you aren't already.

    • @MetalMusicMan
      @MetalMusicMan  Před 8 lety +3

      no worries -- usually the best thing with the ultra combos is to go into training mode and turn on input display. then, practice doing the input directions slowly to make sure what you're pressing is actually correct. then you can speed it up once you know you're doing the input right. after that, it's just a matter of hitting PPP or KKK at the end, which is the easy part :)
