- #cjmowing You may never know what your neighbors are saying about you especially if you're not home and someone comes knocking. In this video the overgrown property happens to sit parallel right up against a lawn mowing shop that offers sales and service to the local community. Many lawn companies visit for regular service on their equipment. Not one of them has noticed the property within view next door (or maybe they have?).
We happened to need some service on our equipment from the free lawn services we provide and noticed the property next door. After a couple days we arrived to pick our equipment up to see the same yard in the same condition and decided it was time we take action. The home looked to be vacant so we spoke with the neighbors directly across the street who coincidentally were outside ready to leave.
The neighbors painted a bleak story about how an elderly lady lives at the property but isn't to keen on visitors she doesn't know and would likely be nervous about the attention she may receive due to past situations and would most likely not answer the door if we knocked and suggested that she would quickly get the police involved should we make any attempts to mow her lawn. We're so happy things turned out the way they did and the owner of the property was thankful and was nothing like her neighbors described. They almost cost this elderly lady the FREE mowing she so desperately needed! This video documents the before, during and after footage as well as all people we come in contact with along the way. I can see why she would want her neighbours to leave her be. They didn't seem to be too eager to see her get help of any kind, even if that help was to clean up her yard, which just makes for a better view for the people living there. Maybe they just want a reason to complain and make problems for her

Mowed my neighbors yard for free until they past away. now their granddaughter lives there. She mows it herself. Since we are elderly now our grandson mows our yard.

The neighbors might have known her better than you think. There are some people who will respond well to a particular person but who don't get along with others in general. My brother was a salesman for printing supplies and equipment for printing shops. Every time a salesman comes to the one business, the owner tosses them out. So, my brother goes and talks to this guy. The business owner has his family working for him, and this was a multi-generational close knit group. Not understanding the situation, the other sales guys were telling him how with the new equipment he could save money by cutting his staff. They were telling him to toss his grandma or favorite aunt out on the street. So, my brother comes in and tells him how he's going to make things easier for his workers. Granny is getting on in years, and she won't be able to handle the job unless he updates his equipment. The guy loves him and becomes a loyal customer. No one else can believe it.

As an “older lady” that has health issues I truly appreciate these videos. I have a son who lives 23 miles away and he travels twice a month with his mower to my house for a glass of tea and conversation 🥰

So true I’ve seen many people upset something was cut down on other channels, even I see something cut and I think I would not have cut that. Many people use shrubs and trees for security under windows.

My insurance company told me that if any branches hanging close or over my house were to fall and damage my house it would not be covered so I had to make arrangements to have them pruned. Then Hurricane Michael hit but they were already gone due to being diseased. I really "dodged a bullet" on that one.
@@robinhays1011 I lost a total of fourteen trees, not counting those three, when Michael hit and tried to wipe my part of the state off the map. I hated to loose them but a blessing in disguise came from it all as I now have grass growing that for many years was just bare ground.

Yes. If we all helped each other, it will heal our country. People need to stop chasing the almighty dollar, that can be taken away, at any time, since the people at the top own it, and help each other. One might be able to mow, while another can sew, help with cutting wood, or fixing the car, or whatever. Work in trade, like it used to be. They can’t stop us if we do it that way, but, instead, they want us to chase THEIR almighty dollar, while hating our neighbor. So sad.
I’m an older lady who is also disabled. I used to take care of my lawn, but now that simply is not possible. Last week one of my neighbors came by and mowed my front lawn. He will probably never know how much that meant to me. Thanks to you, and all the others who do this type of work - it truly means everything. ❤❤❤

;) i deliver food bank packages to elderly disabled people monthly. I always make sure to ask if they want me to bring it into their home and place it in the easiest spot for them to manage. Those boxes are heavy and many of them can barely even walk. My job description says to just leave it at their front door. I go the extra mile because that's just called being a conscientious neighbor.
@@chillmegachill God bless you for going the extra mile. Up until ~10 years ago I could move and lift most anything I needed to. After a bad car accident, my back was damaged and now I need a cane inside and trekking poles outside. I can't lift more than a few pounds before my back is screaming in pain. So, again, thanks for going that extra mile; I am sure it's appreciated !!!!

Neihhbors never said anything negative about her at all. This neighbor, a friend is the one who went and talked to her to get permission. Did you even listen to what she said?

Every time they upload a “free cutting” and thousands of people watch the video, they get paid very well by CZcams. If they didn’t get paid from CZcams, I seriously doubt they would be cutting anybody’s law for free ever again.

The fact that they don’t help mow it for her themselves is even more shameful.
Even if she has "psychological issues" the neighbors had no right to turn away those offering her help.
@@tle7696 The neighbors didn't "turn CJ away". They didn't even advise CJ not to knock on her door. All they did was tell CJ that based upon their knowledge of her past behavior, she might get upset and call the police.
I was surprised just how fast the homeowner said yes after what her neighbor said, just goes to show that you trust what people say. Especially if you don’t know the entire story, I’m so glad you were able to get this cleanup done for her. It’s a shame you didn’t have a second trimmer with you, but still the awesome mom and son team got it done once again. Trish that shot of you picking up those post to use the mower goes to prove the sincerity of what you for others. This video was chicken soup for the soul. Especially for the homeowner who had a very broad smile on her face when you were done.

You are my favorite. I’m 79 yo F and fell a year ago. No one helps with lawn unless I pay them and I’ve hired two that did not complete their work. The one I have now does but had to remind them to edge. This is a small selfish community. Guess my lawn and house are too small to want the money. They want bigger lawns and more money. Yeah, it’s sad what the world has become. I live in a tiny town, where I grew up, pop. 50ish. When I was growing up, everyone got together to help their neighbor. I have pictures of my dad and all the town’s men working together on different projects. Now, though, even though we all grew up together, no one helps each other. I am willing to help anyone, I always tell my neighbors if they need me for anything, I’m here…but I never get the same in return. It is sad that this is what society has become. Selfish, greedy, and arrogant.

I am younger but has 2 strokes and have limited mobility.
I hired someone who quoted me for work he did not do. He didnt even always mow the lawn. I called to ask when they were going to come next to mow (HOA sends letters if you dont mow often enough). He told me that had come the day before. They had not come. I am homebound. I was there all day. No one came. An hour later someone came to mow the lawn. When came time to aerate and seed they charged me for the supplies but never did the work.
Had to fire them and hire new people.
You just *KNOW* the homeowners are *so grateful* for all your hard work and help.

Those same neighbors talked to the lady letting her know what they wanted to do. They didn’t block the mowers at all. They aided in asking as if these mowers asked she may not have had trusted them.

I think the woman is more likely to feel startled & scared if she is inside her home & strangers approach. Because she was able to see & talk to them outside, it was less stressful.

God bless you guys for the hard work you do, This episode was especially poignant for me, this was the day of my mothers funeral, She passed at 97 years old and I cared for her since 2015, full time since 2017. It warmed my heart to see you helping this senior citizen, such hard work but so rewarding. The Dynamic Duo strike again!

Thank you so much for helping this Elder homeowner. People don't realize as you get older your body changes and you're not able to go outside and do yard work like you used to when you was younger. If the neighbour cared anything about her they would help her out. Or see if she has a family member that could come and cut her grass. People wanted to complain about people but you don't know what the real reason behind her grass not being cut. She could be depressed or just don't have the money to pay someone to do yard work. I bet someone had "helped" her in the past, only to take advantage of her. We had something like that happen to us. A neighbor offered to cut our grass and while they were there, broke into our shop and stole some stuff. After a while you just stop trusting people. Keep in mind just because someone is old and reserved, does not mean they are crazy etc. too many are too quick to jump to conclusions. Most elderly people are in fear of many things at their age, and are cautious and keep to themselves to avoid confrontations they might be able to handle. I'm 80 yrs old and can attest to this. seen it many times in my day. god bless these people for what they do.
I'm single and live by myself.I have the same judgemental ignorant neighbors.Some new people moved in and they told them that I was a weirdo.I had issues with bad kids in the neighborhood.I used to have to call the police regularly.I have mistrust of cops.
I love this mom and son combo, because they talk and laugh and joke around, plus they do a great job on these yard transformations. Great Job! 👍

I just can’t say it enough, things have changed since I grew up, and even now. There’s no way I would let my elderly neighbor’s yard get that bad, and I’m female. She was so happy and appreciative! God bless you both for giving her a reason to live and be happy again.

Such a nice sized yard! Just having the grass cut makes a big difference! That lady was very nice. The other woman who was leaving and describing the homeowner sounded more scary then the homeowner. Turned out so nice!

I seem to be running into a lot of these mowing companies that now do these jobs for free once a week, aouple times a month whatever it is. It honestly has me smiling and thinking this world still has a LOT of good people in it! Thank you for helping this sweet owner! Glad you didn't split right away after the "warnings".

For a lot of these lawns where a disabled or elderly person lives, not only does it keep the municipality or county off of them and make their home nicer, it reduces the attraction of pests. Mice, rats, etc. look for overgrown areas, which in turn bring in snakes. Also cutting back the overgrown foliage eliminates ticks, mosquitoes and fleas. To an elderly person these could be deadly because of disease transmission.
its good advertising for them if someone local happens to watch and the youtube ads tend to end up paying what the job would have cost

You guys are so cute. Glad I stumbled onto your channel. As a widow who didn’t have a working mower after my husband passed, I was ever so grateful for one of my neighbors that came over and mowed my rather large yard at the time. Acts of kindness are so needed at this time.

You guys are so great and you go way beyond what most yard people do. My sweet mother was 98 when she passed and for 30 years she couldn’t get anyone in town to help her as she was fixed income. I mowed when I went to visit and started helping pay for help but no one wanted to work. Thank you ❤️
