Nice one! The Colas probably suffer from over working, I've just seen video of it out and back passing Daventry. It get around a bit. Bit like yourself actually, lol 🙂🙂
Hi David nice question I'm sure someone can answer that. Mind you the power cars over at the works are being converted as general haul locomotive so it's probably the power cars being adapted
I believe the mk1 coach at the rear of the formation is a generator vehicle, so no modifications required for power. The coaches are fitted with drophead buckeye couplers and retractable buffers (standard fitting for later mk2 coaches, possibly retro fitted many years ago for the mk1 vehicle).
@@WalesRail Ah that's sad news I hadn't heard about that. The same happened to a class 315 that was earmarked for preservation but because of red tape at the last minute, it slipped through the net and ended up scrapped. Luckily they have been promised one of the remaining ones by the lease company.

Driver says Colas don't follow the warranty procedures!! Lol yes I try to get about -- possible trip out tomorrow all being well.
All 365s are gone, convert a 465 when they go
the XPT in Australia is modeled on the HST design and still running it will celebrate its 40th anniversary in march this year
Traveling man yep that's right 🙂 thanks for commenting
Yes it's great to see the XPT still running, I've watched some nice videos of it on CZcams.
Seems the Mk2 carriages are wired to work with the hst power cars. Wonder if any mods were made to the mk2 coaches like buffer removal

They look brand new yet goin for scrapp? Why?.
Normally as part of a lease and no body else what's them
Such a shame to see the 365's going for scrap. Gone before their time.
I agree they actually don't look that bad condition.
@@WalesRail I understand one is being preserved and going to be used as a restaurant in Kent so at least one survived.
Hi Paul I hear that also however the chosen one has already gone for scrap!!

@@WalesRail We have become a terribly wasteful society.....I notice they have sliding doors too.
