I told you that i would do another Kylo Ren video once Star Wars 9 was released and i did it. I hope you will like it as much as the last one, i really enjoy working on Ben Solo, as he is definitly the best character of the trilogy. I don't know if i will do other Star Wars characters, but i definitly had to pay another tribute to Ben Solo, the last Skywalker.

Without a doubt the best sequel trilogy character, but honestly I think he’s one of the best characters in Star Wars period.

Kylo Ren, The Last apprentice of the Sith. It makes so much sense that the emperor/supreme leader was so hard on Ben. He didn’t want tools like Dooku, Asajj Ventress, Savage Oppress....or Maul.
I think Palpatine/Snoke manipulated Luke's mind with images of Ben's turn to the Darkside. I think it all started when Leia sensed the future and told Luke that her son would die at the end of her jedi path.
Considering that Grogu was going to be and probably was Luke’s first student, the era after the Empire was an important time for Luke to rebuild the Jedi Order. He gathered artifacts, texts, relics, and even knew Ahsoka Tano. He had to start recruiting students.
What made him so overprotective of Ben was partially due to the nature of his teaching style: he was learning how to be a master and he had a long journey ahead of him.
In the Rise of Kylo Ren comics, it is canon that Ben didn’t really destroy the temple. It was Palpatine who sent a giant lightning strike down, obliterating the academy and most of the students. Ben was in horror at the sight of everyone being dead. He thought his rage at Luke brought it down on his fellow padawans. He didn’t want to believe he caused it but Palpatine/Snoke convinced him that it was. That’s why Ben fled. He was scared of himself.
Everyone simply misunderstood Ben because he was a victim of his legacy; He didn’t like being compared to the legacy of the Skywalkers or Obi-Wan, great Jedi who everyone expected him to be like. His own parents were so busy with the New Republic that he felt out of place with them. Even though he was the best student at Luke’s Academy, he felt animosity from one of his fellow padawans for being naturally gifted with the force. He wished she would stop trying to compete with him, he just wanted her to accept him as is. And worst of all...when he found out Vader was his grandfather-that made him more mistrustful of his parents and Luke. Ben was angry that all this pressure was being put on him. His wiser friend Tai could see it and he wanted Ben to know that he controlled his own fate. No one else-he didn’t have to carry the legacy of the Skywalkers on him.
The knights of Ren saw his power. They saw what Snoke wanted them to see: a darkness. They called the darkside "The Shadow". For them, the shadow is ever consuming and ravenous. It cares not for civilization, life, or spirit. It simply needs to feed...and Ben fed on the Ren, the leader of the Knights. He ended his hunger and avenged his friend Tai. He killed his friend Jinx for being useless and cocky-she wanted to be a Jedi and she failed to be one when Tai died. She too was fed upon by Ben for trying to live a lie; a dream that was never real. His past died...his rise began as he took over the knights to be "The Shadow"...to be Kylo Ren.
It was only natural for Kylo to kill Snoke. He was tired of being compared with Vader. He understood his grandfather’s struggles but he also wanted to be stronger. He wanted to finish what his grandfather started: become the darkside and consume the galaxy. For Vader, that was with Luke. For Kylo, that was with Rey.
Interesting points you are making, this only thing that seems off is when you say at the end, Ben was tired of being compared with Vader, but in TROS, he still decides to put on his mask again, and he still keep and uses the mask of Vader, that doesn't really make sense then.
@@JesseJr19 That doesn't mean he wanted to throw Vader away. He relates to Vader but he wants to be his own man. He wants to be the Shadow of the dark side. Vader already was the Fist of the dark side. He needed to fulfill another role, another destiny.
Nice thought. Thank you for the information from the comics, it makes a lot of sense. I never thought he wanted to belong to the Dark Side to be truth. Since TFA, he shows that he tries to fulfill what Snoke wants from him, but he is resistant because he wants something else, he doesn't want to be manipulated anymore, he needs his own space, his own story, that, in TLJ, he already knows that he wants Rey to be a part of that story.
Problem is a lot of that was retconning through comics when it should be explained in the movies. They didn't even intend on having Palpatine return until J.J. Abrams took over Episode IX.

When I first watched The Force Awakens, I was scared of Kylo Ren! Hated him for killing Han Solo! But at the same time, there was something you can’t place at first. There’s just this haunting feeling that you want to know “WHY?” I think, the same way Rey kept asking Kylo Ren “why?” The funny thing with Kylo Ren’s character is, you’d learn to empathize for him, understand him and even root for him! On The Last Jedi, I was hoping he’d fall in love with Rey and vice versa! From this scary monster, he became an interesting, irresistible character one would fall in love with. And his story ended with him finally learning to sacrifice his own life to give life to someone who could give balance to the universe. I wish he could have lived and have a happy life with Rey but knowing he’s now one with Rey is enough.
eilyn510 yeah.....I felt the same way at first, but as more of his character was revealed, his inner conflict became more apparent. He went from a character I hated, to one I loved.
I truly understand how you see Kylo Ren. I was truly angry when he killed Han Solo. But I started to get so fascinated by this character, he has feelings. He was torn apart by them. He was trying to do what he thought was right, not knowing how much his mom and dad loved him. Snoke turned his heart. He found his heart in Rey, they were lost souls that wanted their parents, they found that love with each other. Two souls that were searching for that love, but found it in each other. It wasnt long enough to be together. I was saddened when he left Rey., but he did it out of love. I wish more than anything that there was a slight chance he could come back and they could be together. Be each other's HOME❤❤

Something I love about Kylo Ren is that in every Star Wars movie they tell you that fear, anger and impulsiveness are the way of the dark side, but all of the sith lords are cool as a cucumber. Kylo actually is all of those things. And the whole thing in the Force Awakens how he feels the pull and temptation of the light side was a really cool twist on a old theme.

I said this in Rav3nedits video and I have to say it in this as well because it goes long with it as well then I’ll add the personal thoughts to this particular edit after
I don’t understand why people hate on Kylo/Ben in many ways he CARRIED the trilogy some scenes wouldn’t exist without his presence in them and many People just say
“But he’s just a carbon copy of Vader it’s dumb”
Well yeah that’s the point he is a zealot if his grandfather he wants to become like him or even better overcome him in his legacy and deeds BUT at the same time he isn’t at all like Vader Vader is always calm cool collected while Kylo throws fits and destroys things in a rage or tantrum like a child just showing US the audience how torn he is how unstable he is as a person then we see HIM kill his father believing that it would end his pain and fully turn him when it didn’t just like what Snoke said
“And the deed split you to your bones!”
Then in the 2nd film he has a chance to kill his mother BUT HE DIDNT he spared her then he finds Rey who for some reason entices him and lured him closer to the light but again his entire philosophy is
“Let the past die, kill it if you have to. That’s the only way to become what you were meant to be.......”
Which is why he wants everything to die the rebels the old sith the legacies of the Jedi and the Empire
Then when he faces Luke we realize that he is still haunted by his father showing that he is still in pain in torment BUT he didn’t kill Luke his past didn’t die
Then we see all throughout the 3rd film his light begin to come forth we see him try and negotiate with Rey then in a way he try’s to save Rey from herself then when he is about to kill her HIS mother reaches out and convinced him to halt then WE SEE his father LITERALLY they re-enact the scene where they killed him and again Kylos philosophy comes to the screen when he says
“It’s too late I can’t go back”
He believes he is too far gone but then his father convinces him to come back AND this time he throws the saber away he is now no longer Kylo Ren but once again Ben Solo it is literally saying to US the AUDIENCE
“Yes Ben chose the dark side in the first film BUT he chose wrong NOW he chose right”
Then he saves Rey and in the end Redeems himself for all of his deeds in a way he did follow his grandfathers legacy and he became Ben Solo again I loved his character it was new and fresh within the series and while Vader always has his “badass bad guy” moments in films it always seemed controlled or subdued while Kylos was like an animal like a brute just pure raw and untamed power going through him all at once this edit was EPIC it showed us all of the parallels in his story to that of Anakin’s or even Luke’s it showed his entire story of how powerful and ruthless he could be to then how torn and broken he was to then coming back to the light and redeeming himself this was beautiful and epic on scales that made my midichlorians vibrate on edge I can’t wait to see what you do next KEEP GOING!!!!!!

Incredible tribute to the most fascinating and compelling character in the ST and, imo, the entire saga! Adam Driver is the goat for this role.
No offense to Rey, but Ben Solo should've been the focus of the ST. Rey ostensibly got the most characterization, but really, her story and Ben's fall and redemption are inextricably linked. A dyad in the Force lives and dies together. As long as Rey lives, so does Ben. At least, he would if Abrams and Terrio had hewn to the logical conclusion of their own script.

Hi
People love Darth Vader's arc, but Kylo was traumatized for years by Snoke and was ostracized by everyone in his family. So lonely and drawn to the only person he ever found to be as lonely as him. Anakin was manipulated by Palpatine but not mentally abused. Anakin's character arc had shallow motivations with simplistic choices: turn bad to save Padme, then turn good to save Luke.
