- We are Live for the 2nd stop of the 2022 Natural Selection Tour.
Baldface Lodge is nestled in the Kootenay Range of Selkirk Mountains at an elevation of 6,700 feet. With 500+ inches of annual snowfall to blanket its god-gladed, mid-alpine tree runs, Baldface sits atop every snowboarder's bucket list. All this should make for an epic day of competition as 14 of the worlds best riders prepared to give it their all on the infamous Scary Cherry run.

Definitely a cool vlog but I’m sure all of us would love to see more footage of riding! Even if it’s all helmet cam footage. It’s still sweet! I built my first snowbike this year with a 24 xc300 and I wanna see more footage of them rippin!!

Something I didn't realize at first: men first; women last. That's truly awesome. Most comps, or all comps put men last for a set of reasons based on "what sells." Our society is evolving more rapidly gender-wise, & it's decisions of acts like this. Kudos to Natural Selection.

@@elvispiss I agree that they get worse condition but, to be fair ... they struggled to go down overall , a lot more falls , and just few tricks combined that were actually clean , freaking track was quite hard / steep and fast at least the one on 1h08min ( still watching the rest ) .
Edit - After watching the rest: Yeah , Zoe and Elena did quite decent ,but their consistency is meh...i know am harsh but ...they are THE best in the world .

This event is pretty cool there is however a minus. The style of riding is based on fresh snow, backcountry I mean, and unfortunately the quality of snow is reduced significantly only after like 10-15 runs on the same "slope" so it kind of ruins first the fun and second the ability to perform. "well". my humble opinion obviously. cool contest though still, like one of the coolest and the spirit feels kind
That lends to the challenge of having creative runs.

the score of ferguson was hilarious and pretty much fucked up. an 80 while paul blake got only an score of 50. what the hell is this?
Think how impressive this could be if they were actually in the backcountry skinning up things and you had one shot at your run and it was about the athlete instead of getting lifted to the top by machines still impressive but could be really inhuman
And the event would take place over 9 days....

that's not a GoPro on the that fpv drone. Way to big and the drop frame on the drone indicates that it carrying heavy weight (more than a GoPro)

kinda boring. the freeride world tour is better. this has a really sanitised corporate feel to it. commentators are dull.
I respect your opinion. But I strongly disagree. This has 0% corporate feel. This is built for the riders and it was literally built by the riders
They actually lost most of their big corporate sponsors. Seems a little underfunded if anything, why they have to pimp the sponsors they do have so much, though this stop wasn't as bad as Jackson.
@@benryan2009 i see. times are tough i suppose. it's like they've stuck with an image in order to court corporate dollars. environmental virtue signalling, a wall of positivity and an annoying sincerity. for comparison fwt broadcast their qualifiers on a budget, they have two guys in a snow plow commentating and talking rubbish, cracking jokes. it's far more entertaining. natural selection is missing some grit and humour.
@@hughlawson5399 Watch the jackson hole stop before this one, it was much more exciting commentary with an actual panel and people on the ground interviewing the riders. It seems for this stop they lost many of the sponsors they had for the jackson stop so they had to do a more low budget production. Really wish they would stay consistent with the production the jackson stop was more exciting to watch even though the terrain and snow wasn't nearly as good
