My father was sent to Singapore to work for Bank of America they lived there for 4 years. My parents have both passed now but my mom always spoke of how beautiful and clean Singapore was and she always wish she could go back. All my brothers and sisters got to go visit but I never got to because I was pregnant with my first child and never made it over. That's why I love watching these videos of you there. She always bragged how clean the city was. My dad told me that you had to get your car washed everyday because if your car was dirty you would get a ticket. This was in like 1982.
Wow! Incredible to see how Singapore has been maintaining cleanliness for so long.
That's really something.
😂. .. In Singapore, you won't actually receive a ticket for having a dirty car; however, I've heard that cars are sold there at exorbitant prices, the highest in the world, in fact. For example, a Toyota Corolla can be sold for over S$120k(US$90k), and due to the substantial investment they make, most prefer to keep their cars clean. 😅
@@mr.g702 yes singapore is expensive (cars and houses)
It’s really nice to see how open and willing you are to not only travel to many different places, but to also eat a whole range of different cuisines
That’s his passion and job though 😅
Lmao hes willing to go in between two gangs for some limited time food
Hey ! Mike
The leaves you see in the mutton is curry leaves not basil
Curry leaves gives out a wonderful flavor & aroma
Haha... Curry for us is curry leaves, but I think West have no idea about curry leaves....For them, everything is curry
Yes I was going to say the same.
@@Sana-ik8fo Not true. I live in the US and I own a curry tree. They smell wonderful an fresh leave taste much better then dried
Loved this video! Looks like you managed to find some authentic Indian food without visiting India!
Ah man I LOVE little India in Singapore! This brings back amazing memories, I love the mix of culture In Singapore and the fact they all get on in harmony. We can all learn from that
Singapore is a melting pot of cultures, it truly is and shows in this video.
Ayy glad you enjoyed Bengali food! Kosha mangsho goes best with luchi (puffed bread). Garlic naan is North Indian. As for chingri maccher malai curry I'd suggest plain white rice as the best company! Also fish fry is a Bengali staple snack! Maybe next time you're in Kolkata.
What is north indian ???
Id1ot no one cares,he already was in Kolkata and ate all that so shut u r trapp
@Takumi Usui 🤣🤣I am Indian I know
Garlic naan is not a staple "north Indian" thing ... nobody in my state of Uttarakhand eats naan at home . One only eats it at restaurant, especially a Mughlai one .
@@Deepak_Dhakad how is he dividing india? It helps ppl to differentiate types of food & its origin. You dont simply say chicken and waffles is eaten all over America when it is only common in the Southern States
Loved seeing all the videos you've done in Singapore! Looks like there's so much great food to be enjoyed there!
I have been away from my hometown, Kolkata, for months now. I miss bengali home food so much. Daab chingri and fish fry has my heart. Your video really warmed my bengali heart
Do you not have ANYTHING near you that can cater what you're after?! My heart hurts FOR you, lol, bc there's nothing quite like that taste of home!
Hello...from Kolkata too...I can feel your pain. Also Durga Puja is coming...
@༼ཆ༽ i can assure u fish fry is a bengali staple too 💪🥰
@༼ཆ༽ nobody is talking about masala dosa. im from india man i know xD
Big fan of Indian cuisine here - and some of that food you found looked insane. What a day you had!!
Hi Mike, love your content but just a few things for you:
1. What you ate with the dosa was sambar, which is more like a lentil soup not a curry
2. Indian food doesnt ever use parsley, its corriander
3. A chutney is itself a dip so please don't call it chutney dip just like the word naan means bread and calling it naan bread means you're saying bread bread or chai which means tea and calling it chai tea is like saying tea tea
I hope you enjoyed the eastern and southern style Indian food, look forward to more of your videos.
Thanks :)
@@Deepak_Dhakad tujhse pucha kisne?
Looks like you're living the food life yet again Mikey! Can't wait for the next video! Enjoy!
You HAD to eat the prawn malai curry with some rice! It just goes so much better with steamed basmati rice than naan/roti
Exactly what I was thinking.
Yea for you absolutely.
Great video as always! Food looks delicious!! Safe travels and stay safe!
Love Indian Food. So diverse. So much flavor from the depth of spices. Almost hits you over the head with the spices but it hits so right. An when the place has great rice pilaf and naan...I'm in heaven. Love me a good Fish Head Curry. Thats my fave
You've got that right Mike - for the best food day in Singapore, you really can't go wrong with a visit to Little India
That coconut stuffed with curry and prawns remind me of the Brazilian "camarão na moranga" (lit. "shrimp inside a pumpkin"), and it's delicious by itself - much less heat, but you can use malagueta (chilli) sauce to fix it 😋
If some day Mikey come here to Brazil he'll spend years as Brazil is HUGE and the food variety is immense - and don't forget the "churrascaria" (Brazilian barbecue) he loves dearly 😃
Singapore has been #1 on my bucket list for a loooong time and I think I'm finally going next year, so I'm saving each and every one of these recommendations because everything looks INCREDIBLE!!
Awesome video!
The food looked amazing!
he genuinly shows respect to all cultures and eats with his heart!! long may it continue
That coconut curry bowl looked downright delicious!
Also, really like your food choices, you have a good understanding of the nature of the food...blessings in your travels brother...
Amazing I was just talking about Indian food today and he posts this beautiful gem! Thanks Mikey!!
Amazing. Makes me want to go buy a coconut and concoct my own!!!❤️✌️ Love ya, Mikey. Thanks for you and Christine!
Hello Mike. I do enjoy Indian food, long as it's not super spicy. I use to work with an Indian lady. She used to always bring me potatoes that she made Indian style. That's how I was introduced to Indian foods. They where super good. But enjoy, & have a blessed Thursday.. ❤️😋🐞
Oh man, this place is literally my idea of food heaven!!!!! 😍
Another great video. The food looks delicious.
As a Singaporean, I think nothing beats the rich complexities of Indian curry!
Some actual flavourful food. Those look amazing.
Bro., the way you describe the food, and with so much passion. You are a culinary Poet !
I feel sad that you didn't try those with rice. Man rice and those dishes are magical combo. Specially the Malaikari
I'm sad he didn't dip his honey prata in the curry sauce.
He used the naan to soak the flavor which is the same thing rice would do Q.Q
Yeah my bengali heart hurt at that
True. Curry without rice doesn't feel right
@@DrChristopherMueller its not about soaking my man. These things mostly created to eat with rich. We have been eating these our whole lives. We know. Naan isn't bad but the most food he ate wasn't supposed to eat with naan.
Hi Mikey, the chicken and fish cutlets at the mustard flavors, isn't a modern fusion food, but kolkata street food similar to kathi roll. It would be considered fusion food 200-250 years ago of course. The other foods also were traditional bengali/Kolkata food.
Hey Mikey, I love you for all your hard work and entertainment that you've brought for us over the years. The reason that Im writing this is because I just found your videos after a pretty long time and I think the reason that I originally stopped watching was because the order of the videos feels off these days. Can you please release videos from one country in a row and then move on to other other countries or places? That order makes it feel like Im watching a TV show and following it episodically. I'll stop blabbering now. Thanks for everything man.❤
I have work due but your videos are always worth pushing all the deadlines 😁 such good food and can really tell you enjoyed it! Need to visit Singapore soon someday
this is my favorite content to watch when i know i ought to eat but dont want to eat, its so immersive that i often forget that im eating which makes it go down much more easily
Everything looks so delicious! :)
Love the video keep it up!!!
Hearing Bro Mikey critiqued food, it sounds like the judges on Food Wars. The only thing missing is the explosion of where he is swimming or drowning in the flavor and ingredients used to make the food.
Literally drooled all the way through this…love Indian food 👍🇬🇧
Dosa is indeed sour, the batter is fermented overnight. Chutneys that you had with the dosa, especially White and Green, are coconut based. The curry dip is known as Sambhar and is prepared with lentil and Masalas.
Love singapore and love your videos too.
Keep up the good work, Mike 👍🏻
Man i wish ppl in New York would try Dosa from India or Singapore. I've seen NY's famous dosa and tbh it was like half the portion u get here and there's so much veggies instead... Maybe he was catering to the ppl's taste there.
Just in time to accompany my snack time! Love your videos Mike, I live vicariously through them lol ✨
Not lucky here in India.....2 in the night....can only watch and cry 😂
love your videos, been watching you for years
I'm glad Mikey finally ate and enjoyed some South Indian dishes from Tamilnadu (Mutton Chukka, the Fish, Dosa and the pancakes at the end). You should definitely visit Madurai (the food capital of Tamilnadu) once. Great video as always!
Amazing ! Love this video. Will go and eat soon!
You're sooo good at describing food🙌
that coconut prawn was supposed to be eaten with plain vapory warm steamed rice. balances well, and tastes like heaven.
and rice absorbs a lot of the spiciness, with little aftereffects on stomach.
The shrimp in the coconut looked AMAZING.....I kept rewinding that part of the video 😂😂😂.
We went here last week when we visited Singapore. The fish fillet was the best! Thanks for the recommendation for this place! The fish fillet is definitely recommended to try!
The pride I felt watching Mikey enjoy Bengali food 🥺 I’d go to Singapore just to try that restaurant all the food I’ve seen in Singapore native or not so far look so good I wanna go on a little food tour xD
Was I the only one who wanted to scoop out that thick coconut jelly with the prawn curry?? Everything looked so delicious..drooling here when I should be in bed😆😆
I DROOLED when I saw that coconut prawn curry! I live in a area where there is NO authentic restaurants. I live through you Mike, please take me on a food journey!!!!!!♥️🍛
Its a Bengali food.. Search 'Chingri Macher Malai Curry' and you will get the recipe... and yes it is super delicious
Hi Mikey. Thanks for doing a video on Indian food. 😊. We were kind of feeling isolated. Lol. 🤣. Btw the leaves in the mutton curry or Curry leaves not Basil leaves 😊
Argggggh why didnt you make this video last week, haha i was there trying to find a nice indian restaurant in little india. These look amazing
Hey! everything you tasted in the 'Mustard Flavour ' place are very popular Bengali (East Indian) delicacies. Being a Bengali myself i know how good they are.
Mike, I loved your videos from India and so happy to see you include Indian food in your travels to other countries. Your experience in trying so many different Indian foods from different parts of India truly makes you a qualified reviewer of Indian food 🥰
Great vid as usual👊
Me and my wife actually went there and had some Dosa and ofcourse the stir fried fish because of this video. Thank you Mike!
Oh yea! You def gotta try some local Tze char (煮炒) stalls
Briyani & prata are common in many countries, i wish you had tried Indian dishes that are exclusive to this region for instance Tulang Merah (Bone), Mutton Soup & Roti John. Oh and the Rojak...
Hi Mike. Thanks for sharing this video. May I recommend the beautiful Peranakan themed restaurant that serves Indonesian and Thai cuisine. Must try dishes are Fried Assam Prawns, Crispy Fried Kangkong, Tahu Telor, Beef Rendang and Durian Chendol. And if you still have room, Crispy Fried Seabass with house sambal.
Bumbu Restaurant at 44 Kandahar Street. Next to Sultan Mosque. I don’t own this restaurant 😂
You should try paper dosa when you're here! It's light and crispy and fragrant.. I crave it for supper
Everything looked outstanding.
Mikey, minus points for using the sugar cane juice machine... You can get the same fresh squeezed (cheaper too) at almost any hawker center (eg Tikka Center)... SUPPORT the hawkers! They have had a tough time due to covid!... Tikka Center is a staple... love that place... They have chinese/singaporean section there too... Plus points for the coconut curry (in the coconut shell..),,, added to my list lol... Lived and worked in SNG for over 10+ yrs... You need to go to Mustafa Center too...
Awesome job Mikey.
Everything looks incredible.
Hi Mike so i dragged some friends that were staying with me in the marina district to little india and we had some of the best indian food we have had anywhere..so good.. L.A Rob
I never tire of watching Mikey eat for 10 people, LOL!
I'm going to Singapore next month and I'm so excited for all the food and especially the buffets!!
I love Indian food, and lived in Singapore for 2 years or so. It is amazing in Singapore, isn't it. Keep up good work. Cheering for you.
This reminds me of my experience at the Sun Penang restaurant in Squirrel Hill in the Pittsburgh area. Sadly, this restraunte went out of business. Probably because their rent was raised or their cooks left or there were issues of mismanagement, legal, logistical. Whatever. Who knows. But they had amazing food. They had multiple menus to represent all the ethnic groups I the Phuket area. There was a Japanese menu, a Chinese one, and yes an Indian one, plus a Thai menu. But last but not least a Malaysian one! It is amazing the number if parallels between Malaysian food and Indian food. The only thing they didn't have was IndoChinese stuff: Vietnamese,Cambodian, Laotian, Filipino, Indonesian, South Pacific, Korean.Well, you get the idea.
Everything looks amazing 😍 wish I could travel 🥺
Love to see you try some Bengali food from my state in India (West Bengal) i.e. the Fish Fry, Kosha Mangsho, Chicken Chop and the cocunut Prawn curry. Hope you liked it. Do visit Kolkata to try even better food like this.
Always look forward to Mikes new video 🤗
Hey Mike! For prata, you got to try this restaurant called Al Falah restaurant! It’s the best prata in Singapore in my opinion after having tried so many places
I just saw you on the try guys show on discovery plus as a judge!!! Super cool!!
Wow Indian Restaurants, Markets, Temples !! Never felt for a minute it was Singapore !
Great video! Thanks for sharing. One thing,it drives me nuts watching you eat with your elbows on the table. That was a no no in my house growing up. Good work.
Ahh, so nice to sit back with your video and some tea.
We have an Authentic Indian Restaurant in Temple, Tx about 25 miles from my location. But ever time I go there to eat and try Indian Food for the first time, they are always CLOSED ! And I have been there 3 or 4 times !! We have one in Killeen where I live and they Deliver but they are somewhat really PRICEY on some of their menu items !! I might try them some day when it won't hurt my wallet ! LOL I've eaten Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Laotian, Cambodian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican , Italian, but never Indian or food of the Philippines !
Not sure if you're still in Singapore but you should definitely check out Yishun park Hawker Centre especially the shrimp paste chicken and Shakers and Lakers the best burgers in Singapore!
Loved to see Bengali cuisine being featured on this channel❤
Mr Biryani is incredible, you’ve got to go back to try it

Oh man, I cant control myself, my saliva drooling at the sight of those incredible dishes. Such a sight to behold, and a taste to die for. And wow, orange juice automated dispensing machine and now sugar cane. Singapore is a food wonder.....
In Ottawa, Canada, we have some amazing Indian restaurants and our favorite is Butter Chicken with hot fresh Nan bread!
I love Canadian Food too, I love Poutine it has so many Potato French Fries inside it along with Milk Cheese topped on it
Outside of India you'll get best Indian food in Singapore, Dubai, UK and US in that order
