Earth Wind & Fire. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart. MauRice, VeRdine White Mr Bailey, absolutely incomparable. Earth Wind & Fire are diplomats, philosophers, healers. The music transformed people all over the world, melodic instances took me into another dimension, which allowed me to visualize music's sweet essence and if but for a moment, life's peace, the Earth Wind & Fire consciousness. Yea I spelled all those names with big R's emblematic of roaring talent. The greatest band bar none that has ever touched musical instruments. Please come to Seattle again, let this 55 year old escape into the sweetness of the elements, the Earth Wind & Fire way..

Incredible to think about the way that Maurice White almost did the same thing during the 70s that Prince did the following decade, introducing all these new talents to American popular music in between the records being produced and performed by Earth Wind and Fire.

I remember listening to 'Shining Star' on WBLS (NY). That's when I first fell in love with EWF. Maurice is by far still my favorite singer of all time. First record I was able to buy on my own was Best of EWF vol 1...God bless you, Maurice. You gave the world one of it's greatest gifts of music. You will be missed.

i don't think people realize the quality of musicians that this band had .these guys were hall of fame material
and isn't it sad that a lot of groups now don't try to learn and be as great, or maybe they don't care, but groups like EW&F were huge in the 70s, and to me always will be...we need real artist like this...
Stylistics Blue Magic I was a big, big fan of EWF until they took their music into a more pop/disco direction (i.e Let's Groove). They lost me there. It's like all the soul, rawness and funk had gone out of the group and it got too polished. Just my opinion though. Head to the Sky, That's the Way of the World, Gratitude were incredible albums and Getaway was a great song.

The Fender Rhodes is to this day my favorite keyboard to sing with, (if and when I sing), while in Germany Larry played it on a few songs I wished we could play it on all the songs I sang. (:

We have some great treasures in music. WOW!!! So much of our history was hidden away from us but thank GOD they couldn't hide the music mainly because the world was listening. This is so cool.

Love that FR sound with that "Satellite" vibrato sweep, My '76 FR piano is a key part of musical history and I'll never give mine up for any of today's virtual instruments.
I want a kalimba, I had a chance to purchase one in a store once for fifteen dollars, thanks Earth Wind and Fire for your voices, and your sacred music, Sacred voices like the Emotions and Deniece Williams, I hope they are given the highest honors also amongst the Greatest, Music is Magical , and I believe in close encounters, I never got the chance to see Earth,Wind,andFire perform live, but I do have their music and Earth Wind and Fire band is the Greatest band Spiritually first and last. Physically they're Untouchable . but touchable? It's a pity not to see another legend in quoted by state of the art vintage fabulous RHODES piano, I think of JBL so from USA,the oinventor of the studio monito. The best monitors to the world with today the incredible LSR series who equips the biggest studios of the world!
When I first EWF, their music took my breath. It was glorious, happy, and insightful. Oh do I miss him.

EWF are simply one of the greatest gifts we have had musically. I love them. And I am so proud that they continued successfully after beloved Maurice's ascension. This was more difficult because only Maurice and Phillip sang on all their albums. Maurice you are the best teacher.

EWF was the only thing about high school that didn't totally suck. They evelated us unpopular kids with uplifting themes. I still listen to and adore them. our generation is going to the after world one by one. I hope to one day in heaven attend thier concert at the throne of God 🙏😇 .
I saw EWF in concert and l couldn't take my eyes off of them and to this day I can still visualize the concert it was so awesome.💕

The music really is timeless. I must have played those records a million times, jammed to them, imagined I was in the band. I remember hearing I am for the first time…it was like hearing the Beatles…or Jimi for the first time..it stopped me in my tracks.

This is from the mid 2000s. Maurice isn't quite as well now, but it's good to see him talking in this video. From his more recent appearances, he's mostly just listening, and doesn't talk or participate as much, but he's still making appearances every now and then. I hope he's doing well :)
