Ah yes, my favorite type of classical music, classical
“classical” is a period of classical music just like “baroque” and “romantic”
Damn you I was just about to comment this💀💀💀
I know it sounds funny but anyone who learns music theory knows it's correct lol
Welcome if youre new, the art is created here.
@@jarenlee6587 Music theory? More like musical history…
Don't mind me, I'm just Renaissance, crying in the corner with my bestie, Medieval Gregorian Chanting!
Don't forget french troubadours!
Piano didn’t exist in those times yet.
I don’t know why more people aren’t into renaissance music.
*mozarabic chanting intensifies*
And I'm Avantgarde Classical, crying in the basement
If i remember correctly, moonlight sonata was within the romantic era and has some romantic era in it's structure, Beethoven himself is actually a pre romantic composter, who wrote classical in his youth but began to add more elements which would define the romantic era and paving the way for it.
Yeah because he was in two different era
That's right.
The moonlight sonata was written in 1801 and the romantic period started in 1825-30, so it’s very close to being romantic, but still classical
@@hauthot287Reducing a stylistically diverse era of music into neat discrete periods is already questionable, but whether or not a piece is romantic certainly does not have to do with the exact year it was written in.
Even within that paradigm, the romantic period is generally thought to have been started in 1802 with Beethoven's Eroica symphony. But there already existed music in the romantic style before that(including the Moonlight Sonata) and there were still composers who composed in a classical style well until the 1830s.
@@hauthot287 you have to look at the piece itself not years when romanticism became widespread
Beethoven is transition from classical to romantic tho-
And that sonata 14 seems to be around the romantic era
Yeah his selection of pieces were definitely not the best to represent the eras they were meant to represent.
Better to use like Mozart or something Beethoven changed too much
Isnt that beautiful?
Yea but its still the clasical not romantic composer
Here are the pieces played:
1.Baroque
-Bach Prelude No2 in C minor BWV 847
2. Classical
-Beethoven Moonlight sonata 3mvm
3.Romantic
- Lizst/Paganini La campanella
4. Impressionist
-Debussy Clair de lune
5.Modern
- Einaudi Nuvole Bianche
Thank you
Einaudi isnt modern, his music is contemporany
Thanks! ❤
I cant tell the difference between pop music and einaudi
@Daily Dose Of Stupitity I think he is :)
Romantic and impressionistic are always my favourite
Me too
these are my strong points
I'd think the second piece belongs more to romantic period than classic one.
I agree
Although the piece was composed by Beethoven who composed both in the classical and romantic era, Sonata Op. 13 No. 8 is more of a classical era piece that sounds like romanticism. This means that the piece follows strict rules Beethoven have for his pieces and for the classical era in general. These rules are things such as very strict tempo and very strict dynamics and less open to personal interpretation. These things are the opposite of what defines the romantic era, so I believe Sonata Op. 13 No. 8 belongs in Classical.
@@funnyuser2796 beethoven didnt compose in the romantic era...
Same with Claire De lune. He should've gone with Debussy's later pieces
He could have included Mozart for example
I'm just happy I have all these songs on my playlist
My dumb brain thought your door handle was a water droplet on my phone.
Mbv.,
Dude SAME
Me too😂
i would like to have you dumb brain bc that sounds cool
😂😂😂
My favorite type is classical and impressionist
Me tooo 😊😊
that Classical he played was insanely good! but i liked Baroque and Romantic a lot also.
Nice but I believe the last one is instrumental pop
Modern would be more like Scriabin
yeah modern classical is stuff like scriabin, john cage, henry cow etc
@@growskull Scriabin isn’t modern
I'd say everything post ww2 ist modern and everything from around 2000 is contemporary
Impresionist composers should have been the modern ones. And then contemporary would be composers like Prokofiev and Shostakovich.
Scriabin died in 1925. I’d put him more in late-romantic. The last one is part of a sub genre of contemporary classical music called minimalism
It's definitely classical or Romantic for me
1. Baroque
2. Classical
3. Romantic
4. Imspressioist
5. Modern
*6. Neo-(All Of The List)*
The first one you played is one of my all time favs
There's nothing like baroque music. It's the most precious piece music that we have created
Modern: *john cage silence intensifies*
4’33
My fav piece
@@gmfrunzik Worst piece of music
Moonlight Sonata is great isn't it ? 😎
La Campanella is greater
La Campanella better
@@FranzFerencLisztHello another me.
@@Lisztito1811I have to argue that hungarian rhapsody Nº19 is better.
1. Baroque
2. Romantic
3. Classical
4. Impressionist
5. Modern
Only real ones know what true modern classical music sounds like...
And it sounds like shit
Let's listen to some finissy
Is Yiruma in the mix?
@@tylarjackson7928 no I'd say that's more or less piano pop.
That doesn't make it bad of course it just doesn't really fit in the classical canon
@@dosterix6034 Those American ballads are a favourite of him ngl
Baroque is my favorite, hands down.
Nah baroque is mid, impressionist is superior in every way.
harpsichord goes hard
@@snouthlly1479 Everything about Baroque is superior from a technical standpoint. It is absolutely superior music if we define "music" as organized sound. Much more clever music (arrangement of sounds) comes out of the Baroque, especially from Bach, of course. Bach wrote the book on music. Everything impressionisn offers he offers a million times over and more.
@@snouthlly1479 you don't seem to know what "impressionist" means, because neither Chopin nor Liszt are impressionist composers. This is simply a matter of opinion anyway, so there's no point in arguing or presenting your opinion as a fact. And if you truly feel that way about baroque music, you clearly haven't listened to enough of it to understand it.
Yay... I loved playing Bach and Scarlatti back in the day...
Romantic and impressionist ❤
This is fantastic, thanks for the video. ❤
Thanks! Now I know that my favourite is impressionist, the second favourite one is romantic 😃
trust me when i say that that was NOT impressionist
@@samuel15097 I mean, Clair de Lune is somewhat impressionist in nature, and given the composer (albeit he rejected the term) is prominent in Impressionism, it is an apt example. Although I agree, there are other pieces a lot more representative of the era, but this is the same video that said Moonlight Sonata is classical! ☺️
@@samuel15097I agree with the other person. Claire de Lune sounds quite impressionist, although Debussy as a whole isn't necessarily impressionist. I think Satie is a better example of an impressionist composer.
@@sakuraaaa001it’s somewhat impressionist, that’s true. but Claire de Lune was written near the beginning of Debussy’s career, before he really reached his defining style. so at that point it was kind of a mix of romanticism and the seeds of his future impressionism
for some real hardcore impressionism, check out some of his later works. Pour le Piano is a good piano example, while Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun is a good orchestral example
I was expecting Gaspard de la Nuit for Impressionist and Marc-André Hamelin for Modern
you had rather high expectations
where my sorabji
I’ve played all of these 🎉
Ah yes the good old days.
-little tommy, born in 2019.
Phenomenal Playing!!!
Well Done, Sir!!!
I Absolutely Love It!!!
Modern music is the music of the 20th century. Many impressionist composers are also modernists. Debussy and Prokofiev it is examples
The "modern music" you mentioned is actually pop music
eh, idk, i also kinda count atonal music as contemporary music
Shostakovich o.O
Not contemporary, that’s pop music 😂
@@pratfelix2226 yes
Debussy hated being called an impressionist though, his music is just calculated right
I love that 3rd song
minimalism my beloved
when i was studying music in highschool i had a sheet of all the styles we had to learn to identify and i drew little hearts around minimalism
@@growskull omg i need to do that in my piano minimalism books
My Liszt:
1. Romantic (Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky)
2. Classical (Mozart, Beethoven, Hadyn)
3. Impressionistic (Debussy, Ravel)
4. Baroque (Bach, Vivaldi)
5. Modern (I don't listen to too much modern)
EDIT: Guys, lowkey been listening to a lot of Scriabin and Prokofiev which I think are considered modern? So Ill put Modern above Baroque now because of those guys. Highly recommend them both.
Uhhhh, Beethoven is more Romantic than Classical. Modern kinda sucks, honestly, so yeah, I agree with you
@@d3l_nev "modern kinda sucks" what?
@@Qazwdx111 I'm sorry, you're right, modern completely sucks.
@@d3l_nev but why?
@@Qazwdx111 i wouldnt say it completely sucks but modern "classical" music isnt as good as the other periods of music.
Fantastic I love all genres 😍😍
I love sonata no 5 in C minor by beethoven 😮 classical number 2 ❤
How do u do the classical music number 2 sonata no 5 in C minor?
Your genuinely amazing
You don’t need notes, notes needs youuu
What does that even mean
What is that supposed to mean
when you know nothing about music but you still want to complement a pianist:
No he needs notes all musicians do
Amazing video and a nice tutorial! I would really love it if you were so kind to try doing "Mountain Banjo", a music from Red Dead Redemption 2. Btw, i just want to thank you so much for inspiring and teaching me and many others for so many years! I love you!!
"hey dude what's your fav type of classical music"
*"classical"*
So basically it gets better at showing emotion till impressionist
Me after knowing La Campanella was a romantic piece :
La época en la que fue creada esta pieza se llamaba romanticismo y es desde después de beethoven hasta no se
Ohhhhj
@@felipekozameh1689 the theme from "la campanella" comes from a violin concerto by paganini, which makes it kind of classical rather than romantic, even though the study was written by a romantic composer. a 100% original composition would have fitted better
@@aurelio3532 sabía que la pieza fue creada por paganini en otra escala pero yo creo que fue una colaboración entre ambos y luego liszt cambio la escala y unos arreglos
@@aurelio3532yeah Liebestraum would’ve been 20x better. but the video creator just wanted to flex a bit. also La Campanella gets you lots of views so i don’t blame him for including it
Well tempered very well)
LET ROMANTIC COOK. One of my all-time favourite musicians is Tchaikovski he was so mf good
Hot take, romantic is the best period imo. Most fun to play, catchiest tunes, and some of the most memorable composers from brahms to saint-saens.
Romantic and impressionist are my thing
Impressionist music! That's my jam
You forgot the main type where all these types are just sub-types: Perfectionist 😂
I’ve played all besides the baroque and modern. Actually, recently I used the Beethoven moonlight sonata and the Liszt La Campanella for a competition. I actually got first. Congrats on learning these pieces!
Congrats!!
Well my fav types of classical music is impressionist :>
Classical music is just perfect but especially 1,2 and 3
I never knew modern music was considered a type of classical works. I thought it was contemporary.
modern classical is a style but it's not really the kinda thing he played, its more stuff like henry cowell and john cage. alot of people arent into it because its usually very dissonant but personally i like it the most out of all classical styles
You know what they say if it ain't baroque don't fix it!
Get out
You are very good sir
Number 5 That's 🎉correct😂my song soundfamiliar
hmm i will play classical classical music
Nice
What are the names of the songs?
(In order), Bach well tempered clavier prelude in c minor, Beethoven Moonlight sonata, Liszt/Paganini La Campanella, Clair de lune and idk the modern one.
@@naarfaem3530 nuvol Bianchi.. is the morden one

Ah yes, my favorite type of Classical music, Modern! 💀🤡
Does 20th Century classical music fall in that category
dang this guy been practicing 40 hours a day
Ling ling
Ah yes, my favourite type of classical music, modern
I think you should have played some Mozart for the classical... Moonlight sonata is more like romantic
Great playing, but to be honest you really picked the worst examples for most of these categories. The first one is just meh because there are much more typical examples of Baroque. The second one is very questionable, you should've gone with Haydn or Mozart. The Liszt one is just a flashy arrangement of Paganini's La Campanella, it doesn't sound particularly romantic beyond just being a virtuoso piece- could've gone with a more emotional, expressive piece. Debussy is fine, but please what is that modern piece... Why not include someone like Shostakovich or Stravinsky for some more recent classical music? People will get the wrong idea of what each genre is and you just reinforce very overplayed pieces. Not trying to hate here, i'm honestly just trying to help. You missed with this one
My personal ranking:
1. Romantic
2. Impressionist
3. Classical
4. Baroque
5. Modern
Same for me
100%
Absolutely, although for me Classical would be in second place, but impressionism also works for me.
99% of people would hurt their eardrums listening to contemporary classical
It takes a true genius to understand those crazy dissonant pieces
The example showed in the video does not even close to depict how most contemporary classical pieces sound like.
@@octopuszombie8744The example in this video isn't even classical music , it's instrumental pop music. And as much as I don't like (real) modern classical music, i think it's still 10 times more interesting than the trash einaudi produces.
beautifully captivating
classical classical music hits different
“Modern” isn’t classical music
what
Sounds muddy when you have your foot on the pedal the whole time for Clair de lune
I love no. 4&5
The Moonlight Sonata is very romantic. For a better example take his Piano sonata no.8 "Pathétique"
What a great confusion of style! No way!!
Well explained
You play beautifully ❤

You probably know this, but you are ridiculously good.
I love impressionist, it makes me daydream
The romantic era was LIT
Thanks. I am just a casual classical hearer. because I don't like a lot of classical And now I know why. Because I like only Classical and Baroque and I did not know the differences... :D
My favorite type of classical music, classical music
I really can see now Matt Bellamy's inspiration in Baroque music
You presented them in chronological order as they developed in the world
Romantic = 🔥
I always thought it was contemporary but modern works too
