im gonna cry because of how good you explained everything
So glad the video has proved helpful for you ☺️ Thanks for the kind comment 👍
Me too
@ishpreetkaur8452 so pleased the video was helpful for you.
I am the type of person that never writes comments in videos. But it hurt me not to write one because I thought you deserved to know what an amazing teacher you are. I was introduced to the WMM about 1 week ago, and my teacher has tried and failed many times to explain it. I have attempted to understand the concept with my textbook, and failed miserably. I have attempted to understand the concept with other CZcams videos, and failed miserably. But then I made the best decision ever by clicking on your video and I swear I absolutely loved it. You explained the information in a simple yet academic way and I love that you're a Potterhead too 😁 I also agree with you in regards to why they have to use such weird words instead of just saying "inner voice" or "inner ear".
I've spent hours trying to understand this and you single-handedly explained the model in 11 minutes and 10 seconds. Also I think it's important that I note that I am an IB student who is used to understanding things the minute they are said and was very stressed when I didn't get it. So, I want to congratulate you for your outstanding work and I hope you keep it up because you, my friend, are the best teacher I've ever had.
Thank Mariona for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and kind comment ☺️ I'm delighted that you found the video and that it's helped your understanding. Your words are truly encouraging and very much appreciated ☺️ Think the Potterhead compliment might be my favourite 😉 What other topics do you cover on the IB course?
@@BearitinMIND 😊Anytime!! The IB psychology course is divided into 3 approaches: The biological approach, the cognitive approach, and the sociocultural approach. I'm not sure exactly which topics we cover because we're still working on the cognitive approach, but as a general idea we really focus on studies to provide evidence. In the cognitive approach, for example, we'll talk about memory models, schema theory, thinking and decision-making and the reliability of memory. I have an exam really soon about memory models (multi-store, working, and schema theory) and I have to memorise 2 studies per model. I'm a bit worried because I doubt I'll have enough time but I think watching videos like yours is really helping. 😊 What's your favourite Harry Potter movie/book? Mine's the Prisoner of Azkaban 😁
Thanks for the insight into the IB course. Hope the videos continue to help you! Favourite Harry Potter is Prisoner of Azkaban too - in fact it was that film that first got me hooked. So best film was Azkaban, but best book was Half-Blood Prince for me!
@@BearitinMIND Yes, they're extremely helpful!! I first watched the Harry Potter series (then I read the books) when I was quite young and I was absolutely terrified by Voldemort. The Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the movies in which Voldemort doesn't appear so I think it became my favourite and it's stayed like that ever since 😂 Definitely agree on the Half-Blood Prince being the best book, I could not put it down and was completely addicted!
I am studying Psychology independently and this helped a lot, thank you
Wow - thanks for the superchat! Really appreciate your generosity! Delighted the videos have been helping you 😀 As an independent candidate if if you have any questions regarding the psychology course, let me know, and I'll try to help.
You deserve a lot of recognition for making our life so easy. Keep going we love you!
Thank you so much! Appreciate your kind and encouraging words 😀
You made this soooooo easy.
You're really how teachers should be.
So much gratitude, thank you! ❤
You're very welcome 😊 Glad the video has helped your understanding! Appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Very useful. Better than my teaching degree, that's for sure.
THANK YOU very much Andrew - that is most kind and generous of you! I'm so pleased that the video has helped your understanding :)
UR A LIFE SAVER FOR THIS OMG
You're welcome - hope the video really helped you out with your studies.
Im doing my master in educational psychology and your video made everything clear about rhe working memory model! Thank you so much for this! 😊
Delighted the video has been helpful for you 🙂Thank you for taking the time to comment. All the best with your Ed psych course - hope you go on to make a real difference in the lives of young people 👍
I was struggling with this. Thanks for your explanation it was well explained.
Thank you very much 😊😊😊
Honestly, you are so MUCH BETTER than ALL of my cognitive psychology teachers combined. I am doing my MSc in Psych now, and I just wish I could have you as my teacher! You made things feel so simple and easy, and you have created a masterpiece of a video right here. From the editing to your voice, and the choice of information, everything is spot on, and simply put, exceptional.
Wow, thank you! That is VERY nice of you to say. Delighted that the video has been that helpful for you 😊😊😊 Hope you enjoy many more of the videos on the channel. Out of interest, what is the focus of your Masters???
@@BearitinMIND I have already watched several of your videos, and I shall definitely come back again in the foreseeable future. 🤓 I am doing a Conversion Master at Brunel, and the nature of it is fairly generic, concerning the subfields/ subjects it covers. We focus on Evolutionary Psych, Biopsychology, Cognitive Psych, Stats & Research Methods, as well as Individual Differences, Social, and Developmental Psychology. So, it is arguably a broad spectrum😅 However, I hope it will be my "window" to neuroscience.
@@BearitinMINDBtw, do you by any chance have any published work? I would love to read any papers of yours!!
Very interesting to hear what you're studying on your Masters programme 😀 and really exciting to read your ambition is to go into neuroscience!! Hope you're enjoying London too. And as for your question, there are no published works to read - just lots of videos to watch!!
this channel literally popped up at the right time thank you so much for putting this together :)
You're welcome 😃 Hope the videos are helpful for you! All the best with your studies.
This video really summarized and synthesized my lecture, thank you so much! you have a great teaching method!
You're very welcome! Thank you for your kind words 😊 All the best with your studies 👍
I have not for the life of me been able to understand WMM in my two years of studying psychology. I finally get it after this video, this video is very very helpful! Thank you!
Wonderful! So glad the video has helped your understanding of the WMM! Hope you enjoy many more of the videos on the channel 😀
It is an absolute cheek that you only got that few followers. Rn I'm studying for my general psychology exam (a course I really don't like) and I just realized that the topics can be fun. Thanks a lot, for this! And tbh I completely lost it at the video clip for slave systems :))
Thanks for such a kind comment. I know how dry and uninteresting memory research can be at times, especially the working memory model, so I was conscious to really try to explain it in an understandable and engaging way - so I appreciate your comment! Hope this helps you enjoy psychology more, and I hope the videos help you succeed in your general psychology exam 👍
Your video came to me for the first time. You have told it both very simply and very memorably. It was enough for me to watch it 1 time to understand this issue. I am a psychology student in Turkey, I wish I had a teacher like you. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Wonderful! Delighted the video has been such a help to you and that it has been so clear. Really appreciate you taking the comment to write such a lovely comment with specific feedback 👍 Hope you continue to enjoy exploring psychology and enjoy some of the other videos on the channel.

@@BearitinMIND Not at all. Glad I could show my appreciation of your work.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 i got an exam in couple of days and i badly needed to understand this concept! You made it all seem so easy peasy !! ILy 💕 god bless you ❤
So pleased you found the video in time and that it helped your understanding 😊All the best with your exam. (Proverbs 3v5-6)
@@BearitinMIND Thank you so much Tom ! ♥️ Appreciate your help ! Will definitely comeback to tell you how my exam was ☺️
Hey Tom ! Hope you are doing well ☺️
I'm here to say that my exam was good! I answered most of the questions but I'm still nervous if I'll make it or not 🥹
@deekookie20 hey 😊Glad to hear your exam went well 👍Hope the videos helped you along the way. Do you have many more?
@@BearitinMIND thanks to youuuu 💗
Yes I have 4 more papers, tomorrow I have experimental statistics, then multiculturalism, evolutionary psychology and core elective - intervention system. It's gonna be a long weekkkk
This video does a great job of explaining things! This may be a dumb question, but is the central executive the same thing as executive functioning?
Thanks for your kind and encouraging comment 👍 And your question is a COOL question! From what I understand the central executive (part of working memory) is a sub-part of what is referred to as Executive Functioning. For a little bit on this have a read of the first paragraph under the Introduction heading of this: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4084861/
And then keep scrolling down to the "Working Memory" heading and read that first paragraph.
Hope that helps :)
P.S. (I have come across some researchers who state that neuropsychologists use the term 'executive functioning' whereas experimental psychologists use the term 'working memory capacity', but I think the above study offers a helpful distinction/categorisation).
thank you so so much!
You’re very welcome 👍
@@BearitinMIND revising this again! is this a good definition for the episodic buffer.... retrieves information from your LTM, and temporarily integrates that information with your inner ear and eye
.... in order for you to understand the information as a 'whole'
Yep - that would be spot on 👍
Hello Tom! Is there any video you have done on your channel on *Gibson's Ecological approach to perception* ?
Hey 🙂 Sorry - don’t have any videos on that topic.
@@BearitinMIND Ay! It's alright. I got it covered and thankyou for responding ☺️
താങ്ക്സ് (thanks)
You’re welcome 😊Hope the video proved useful.
@@BearitinMIND it's really helped me ....
@@vigneshr4509 Great stuff 😃
Well, the model was updated in 2021 again. And now Central Executive is not the absolute boss. In fact, in the new model, there are not longer such direct links between the CE and the "slave" systems.
Good to see that when new research comes along to better explain the process the model is updated - thanks for sharing 😀

Cheers 👍
If you had used a different thumbnail you would’ve got so many views
Appreciate the feedback, and i'm all ears about ideas to make the thumbnail better??? Thoughts?
(Also, like the Psalm 23 reference ✝️)
@@BearitinMIND The thumbnail doesn't really reflect the quality or the content of the video in my opinion. The video is produced really well and professionally, whereas the thumbnail looks more like you would be going through a PowerPoint. In other words the thumbnail looks like a slideshow thumbnail for a video of a teacher going through a PowerPoint, whereas the video is of really high quality and is nothing like a PowerPoint at all. This may not have been very clear, and unfortunately I'm not a graphic designer and so I may not have articulated it very well, but i hope you can see my point. Also love that you noticed that in my username✝️🙂
Thanking you very much for your feedback - I can see exactly what you mean and I don't know how I'd never thought that's how the thumbnail might be perceived! Most helpful. I've changed it to another version - what do you think?
@@BearitinMINDlooks great
