anyway, i even got surprised that this video format got more views than my revenge video (another lazy video, but it wasn't meant to be good in the first place, just like most subreddits lol) because i consider this video mediocre at best. The text is too large (captain obvious here) and i didnt have a very well structured opinion at the time

my problem with this osu memories is that it seems monotone and the transitions between the song sound off idk why tho , but it sound so diferent from the first one who is really animated

osu!memories 1 had nice transitions with little bursts/streams inbetween songs, this map/song doesn't.
agreed, and the order of the songs have little progression. the end of osu!mem1 has fast songs like freedom dive, everything will freeze, and image material. osu!mem2 ends with fucking black rover
The issues I take with the song aren't necessarily which ones "deserve" to be in the Osu Memories 2, but more so how they flow into each other. This song had many parts that are arguably better than the original (Cycle hit, Exit this Earth's atmosphere + mayday, Rockefeller street) but they were ruined by dogshit transitions to songs that didn't carry the flow of the music (harumachi clover, Chikatto Chika, the slow part of Zen Zen Zense). The original worked so well because the flow was so well maintained in-between songs which meant both hype and slow sections could co exist within the song without sounding too unnatural. In this however, many good sections are broken up by poor transitions that completely cease the flow of the song (cycle hit -> exit this atmosphere -> mayday would've been hype as hell). These random songs take you straight out of the experience and the song would've been infinitely better without them or at least if they were mixed better.
I'm ok with the map selection since these maps are popular in somewhat ways, but the only reason I preferred osu!memories 1 than 2 is because of the transitions between songs. The first one felt smooth and natural while the second felt like it was rushed, weird songs part choices (like most of them don't even fit)
It depends on song mixing and how you put it in each other

Some criticism I got in this video actually helped me develop a more elaborated and better argumented opinion
It also encouraged me to see this map from other people's perspective
"hate comments" in this video didn't affect me at all and I just thought some were kinda funny (that's why I hearted most comments)
Giving my updated opinion on an "old" map wouldn't be a complete waste of time imo since I could just link it in a pinned comment and it will maybe get as much attention as this one (that way I don't take 2 years just to get to 100 subs xD)
Right now I'll just make better videos since im trying a new editor and I don't think I will get any more subs making another video about osu! memories (unless osu! memories 3 comes out lol)

You can't really get ignore farm maps and songs cause they ARE PART of the game, whether you like it or not. And it's called osu "memories" cause it'll be those maps that we would remember someday.
Stop making farm maps seem bad cuz they are in osu!memories 2, you literally live off of farm maps so ur not one to talk
Harumachi Clover is a song with the most ranked maps in the game and Sotarks' set of it is one of the most played maps of all time
also the only things i need to improve on is my acuraccy and my skill of holding the friccing combo

The only thing i’d say i didnt like about the map is that some parts weren’t mapped with the same mapping style as the original maps (for example, artcore jinja and bon appetit S)

the preview we got for osu!memories 2 was so much better than the full one we have now, the first one he was so creative with mixing in and overlapping songs, but in this one is just song after song, with a tiny bit of transitions, I just feel like this was either rushed or done with no care, I really REALLY hope if he ever does a osu!memories 3 that it has the same love and care in it as the first one did
also this transition is terrible 3:12 was personally my most hated part of it, but I did really enjoy the 3:29 up until 4:51, that whole part just sounds so damn good, it just meshes together so well

I agree that the song listing is pretty poor, but the map itself is really good imo and sotarks did a good job.

The reason it's called osu!memories is because of the songs are super iconic in the community, such as Harumachi Clover being a well known map in the community despite being 30 secs. Your reason for why Monochrome Butterfly shouldn't be in the song is that the mapping style is the 2018 ver and not the 2016 ver, SakiZ made the song not Sotarks. Its just that now, farm maps are now getting super popular and they are becoming the more well known songs. Ask a 6 digit whether he knew what artcore JINJA is or what Harumachi Clover is, the chances are he knows what Harumachi is and not artcore JINJA. Also you realize Tsukinami is a farm map right? Anyway just what I think, no hate.

what's wrong with adding farm maps in here? they're added in because it's iconic and a lot of people recognize and/or have played it. that's what farm maps have; a high play count. you probably should've blamed sotarks for this lmao, i think that contributed to the community's dislike towards it.
i personally don't like it as much as osu!memories 1 because it doesn't have the same love and charm. osu!memories 1 actually sounded like one cohesive song with the consistent bpm, smooth transitions and the additional drum line. this one just felt like a song compilation.
Don't get me wrong, You gave very good points throughout this video. But, i think that you should at least change the title to "Why I think Osu!Memories 2 Sucks". Although some of these maps honestly don't deserve to be on here, some do. For example, you would say certain maps don't belong because they were only popular for the meme. Being a well made map isn't the only thing that makes it memorable. Although Harumachi Clover was a 30 second long map, It was a map that was remembered and cherished by a lot of people. It was short and fun. Its the same with the other farm maps. Although they were made specifically for farming, people still remember them. And i think that was what this was all about. But, I respect your opinion.
i'll be honest i dont think that osu memories 2 sucks. I mean yeah there are farm maps in it but i personaly think that osu memories just needs some good tracks that are well known in the osu community. But it was still a good video and i can understand why some ppl hate it.

Did you also forget that its called osu!"memories", not osu!"favorites"? While not good, these are memories of the farmer style, the streamy boi, and the tech player. This map shows how diverse the play styles of osu! are, and if you can't see that, then you shouldn't be in judgement of a map.

Dude i understand your feelings. But you need to see it from another perspective. How about this, think that maybe this osu memories are specifically for farm maps because, why not. I know most people hated farm maps, but give it a chance.
Farm maps are not exactly the problem (even tho its part of it), the problem is that it has too many recent/not so memorable maps instead of memorable good maps (Uta, imaginary places, honesty, etc.), and also the fact that this map was uploaded in the middle of Summer.
Btw forgot to put a final veredict so i’ll put it here lol (7/10 it didnt have flamingo)
i played the map like 7 times to get a good score so i think i gave it enough chances

Weak transitions (SakiZ), only something like Dragonforce can match Raise My Sword in hype so it goes from really hype to kinda hype and kills everything.

EDIT : From the songs I recognize, none of them seem to be slowed down or sped up and just seems so lazy
Tbh i didn’t think the transitions were that bad but he could’ve done better
About the slowed down/sped up thing, some songs are slightly sped up (like chika chika, raise my sword, rockefeller street, etc) but its a bit less noticeable (idk if a change from 184 bpm to 188-190 is noticeable but i did notice it)
And yeah, dragonforce would be a better match, but that pause between zen zen sense and RMS compensated it a bit
I think the triples in cycle hit (2nd transition part before bassdrop freaks) were a bit unneccesary and would break momentum but they weren’t that annoying imo

It's kinda annoying on how people use the term of "farm maps" and people find a reason that counts on one song and disregard another that may have had a similar reason. Just because it's a farm map, doesn't mean that the song/map itself shouldn't be a part of osu memories. Farm maps are often interpreted as short maps that you can easily obtain pp or anything from. However, they aren't farm maps if you cannot do them or aren't on your level. If you cannot obtain what you wanted, then it isn't a farm map. The map itself shouldn't be judged in osu memories but the song and how it is mixed into the beatmap. Your way of I guess, rating the map was based on whether it is a farm map or if it was a good map. It makes me mad but I can't change the entire community. They all seem to just hate on maps/songs because of top players judging it, the mapper, and the time or anything. If you could, remake this video or change it because it's just like any other player.
