A demonstration of Lin Lai's Vocal Modes + How they sound when used in English & Japanese via the Cross-Lingual Synthesis feature.
"Vocal Modes" are a feature of Synthesizer V Studio Pro which can change the singing style of Synthesizer V AI Singers that are compatible with it. They are often compared to "Appends" of other singing synthesis software, though Vocal Modes tend have a more subtle distinction from the default voice. As of writing this (12/02/2022), all Synthesizer V AI vocals are capable of using Vocal Modes, though some may need to be updated to newer versions in order to utilize them. Keep in mind that “Lite” AI Vocals or Standard vocals cannot make use of Vocal Modes.
"Cross-Lingual Synthesis" ( Often colloquially shortened to "XLS" ) is a feature of Synthesizer V Studio Pro, which allows Synthesizer V AI Singers to sing in languages aside from their default language with a decent degree of fluency. All Full commercial Synthesizer V AI vocals are capable of using this feature, though AI Lite and Standard vocals cannot.
My intention is to make more of these videos as I acquire more vocals.
Lin Lai(林籁), is a masculine Mandarin Chinese AI Singer developed and managed by Dreamtonics. He was released alongside his feminine counterpart, Yun Quan, on June 17, 2023. Like other vocals made by Dreamtonics, Lin Lai acts as the standard of quality for Synthesizer V Studio. Lin Lai has no avatar, simply being represented by an abstract depiction of the letters "LL".
Lin Lai and Yun Quan are particularly notable for being among the few examples of voicebanks that were made in the impression of a child. They were originally unveiled on June 1, 2023, also known as "Children's Day" in many parts of the world. Compared to his counterpart, Yun Quan, Lin Lai is described as sounding "sunny" and "enthusiastic".
Lin Lai has 4 Vocal Modes: "Gentle", "Unadorned", "Lively", and "Bright". He shares these vocal modes with Yun Quan as well.

I love Lin Lai, it's rare that we get masculine vocals with youthful tones like Lin Lai.
The closest we get in super mainstream is Zhiyu Moke the little internet gremlin an a few others who are just not as big compared to otehrs
@@senritsujumpsuit6021 oh also there is po-uta who came out for VOCALOID6 recently, right?
Also Zhiyu's not that mainstream since his usage is largely restricted to the Chinese part of the VOCALOID fandom
@@deadlyespresso6166 that's pretty mainstream being a big figure in the largest population xd
Bright vocal mode feels very powerful and his English sounds very clear!
HOLY RAVIOLI THAT IS A WHOLE CHILD ????? I?? speechless the voice is so cute
Damn that transition from Chinese to English to Japanese was so smooth and he’s so clear and understandable even in the other languages ❤! I’m impressed 😮!
Thank you! These examples are really helpful!
So cute and boyish! 🤭
I'm so confused. On the store page it doesn't mention some voicebanks anywhere. Does it differ by region?
The Dreamtonics store only hosts vocals made by Dreamtonics ( and SOLARIA, for some reason )
If you’re asking about Yun Quan and Lin Lai specifically, Dreamtonics’ Chinese vocals tend to be sold on their Taobao, before eventually making their way to their international storefront. For the time being, Lin Lai and Yun Quan are on the Taobao store, though it is expected they will show up on the international store eventually.
