      i'm sixteen. mine comes from my mom always negatively commenting about my weight and forcing me to restricting since i was like seven years old. she never took me to a doctor even though i tried to explain that what i am going through is not just being overweight and needing to diet, she just doesn't care. i told her to stop talking about diet and my weight all the time but she just gets mad. there were times i fasted for weeks (it was my desicion), she loved it. i have been binging secretly on daily basis for the last a few months. i went from binging to restricting to fasting to restricting (with binges, but not too often) to binging in the last four years or so.

    Guys, please listen to me. I binged a lot today. But i forgive myself. I already ate them, so i can not change anything. But i can change the future. Restricting my calories only will cause another binging, i had already done this before. So i will just won't care. Yes, i ate so much. But it's not like i will gain 10 pounds for just one or two days of binging. Don't scale yourself, don't spend your time with examining your body. It will just deceive you. Don't worry, no matter how much did you eat, it will go away in a few days. But what you must do is just continue to your life- don't geet so strict, don't cut your calories in order to get "better". Just let yourselves live. We are human, we're allowed to be messed up.

    Hi Colleen,
    I'm 15,a girl. I was anorexic and underweight for a while... Now I'm ALWAYS craving and wanting food when I'm not hungry. I eat because if I don't eat what I'm craving then I feel like I'm restricting again. It's not extreme hunger but also not binge eating?? Do you have ANY tips or what I can do to stop over-eating?
    Does anyone even have any tips?

    • @pal3885
      @pal3885 Před 2 lety +29

      Something very similar happened to me too. I restricted so much and became underweight then I started craving food and “little binges” were more and more frequent. You should give your body what it craves in small portions every day or a few days a week and not feel guilty afterwords. In that way you’ll have less cravings

    • @jordynk2976

      @@pal3885 So you’re saying I should always give in but only a little amount?

    • @pal3885
      @pal3885 Před 2 lety +12

      Jordyn K look, my problem is: I binge, I say “ i will start again tomorrow and it will never happen again” then after 2/3 days I will give in and binge. So if you choose to eat what you crave in a small amount before the urge to binge comes you could prevent that from happening. Let’s say Wednesday and Saturday for example you add a small portion of what you crave to your breakfast (it’s better to eat in the morning since your body will burn it much faster) I wish I could actually help but I can only speak from experience and it’s different for everyone :/

    • @pal3885
      @pal3885 Před 2 lety +1

      Mag M if you feel like that you have two ways to go I think: you either try to add a teaspoon of it at breakfast( let’s say you have cookies and milk for breakfast and have Nutella on your cookies everyday / a few days a week or you should prevent yourself or people in your house from buying it which I know is difficult.

    • @pal3885
      @pal3885 Před 2 lety +2

      Mag M ALSO there are some mediation videos here on CZcams that are made to prevent binge eating. Since binges usually come from a feeling of anxiety that could help, at least it’s worth a try. I’m sorry i can’t really help u :/

I'd suggest not being too strict with your diet and allowing yourself to have your favorite sweet treats in moderation. You'll find that after a while you won't even crave that stuff as much anymore, and that your craving might be satisfied after a few bites. We usually need less than we think, but listening is crucial...

    I lost almost 70lbs over the past 10 months doing a strict 1500 calorie diet. But last week I decided to have a "re-feed" week. I feel disgusting even though most days I only ate a maximum of 2500 calories.
    I think I am gonna do a 1800 calorie diet now and see where that goes. If I don't gain anything I will be happy with that.
    But I will always stand by the 1500 calorie diet. It works if you are dedicated to it.

    i eat 5000 calories for one day then restrict my calories for the whole week. But this week seems to be hard for me, it's been my third day of binge eating for this week. I really can't control this kind of thing, it's hard. I try to plan my meals but I always end up overeating for every meal. I'd been craving for sugar these days. After every binge, i thank myself for a minute and then hate myself for the rest of the day/week.

    Needed to watch this!! Like you have no idea!! I'm so used to eating a certain amount that when I cut back or restrict myself, that's sometimes when the binge eating happens. Or if I'm stressed/depressed/hormonal. And it's not that I always do it intentionally. I think for me, my body or rather my mind thinks that I'm trying to starve myself so it goes into a sort of panic mode. And I end up feeling worse than when I'd started...and tired! Exhaustingly can't hardly keep my eyes open tired! Usually, almost instantly after a binge. And nap for a good hour and a half to two hours. Only to wake up and feel like I've got a hangover. Not good!! I'm trying so hard to eat right and with the weather being so hot and humid, I don't always get outside. Obviously that's a poor excuse not to move more, but it's the truth.

    04:02 this is for extreme diets only, where you restrict your calorie and nutrient intake under 1200 or so. „Diet” is not just restrictive eating, it is also changes in food habits. Instead of eating 200 grams of Potato Chips, (I’d probably be full before) eating 200 grams of broccoli or sauerkraut (for example). Eating healthier, aka dieting, is not this terrible thing you make it sound to be. Most people approach it the wrong way, but it’s not the fault of the diet. It is meant to make you feel better and satiated, if you’re starving yourself that’s on you, not the diet.

    I'm a fighter and after dieting for so long I don't feel like I can control my sweet tooth anymore. I sit down to eat my meal prep and before I know it I eat like 1000 calories of chocolates which makes training really f-ing hard. I used to do fasting and "cheat meals" once a week to control myself but I feel I have hit a wall I can't break through. I end up doing twice the road work I should right after which isn't good because my knees are shot and I'm not even old enough to vote. I have prided my self on self control, dripline, doing hard stuff others don't want too, but this shit just sucks. Like I dream about food, and when I wake up I worry about it. I used to make fun of eating disorders and those who were overweight my whole life because that's just what my friends did and "It's like their fault, right? So you can make fun of them." I feel so humble, I haven't been a good Christan or person.
    It sucks extra because "oh eating disorders are for women, don't be a pussy, move more or put down the fork", I got nobody but you guys on the internet to talk to about this. This isn't a concussion or sprained wrist where you see somebody for. Everything that is supposed to work just isn't for me.
    Anybody out there who is fighting this I'm praying for you, but if your a guy like me just understand your not any less masculine if your fighting this demon. Nobody calls an alcoholic a pussy for drinking. We are all strong and we will all find a way to win.
    It's crazy to think a generation ago my grandparents struggled to feed my parent's, and here I am scared shitless I'm going to get fat off snickers. We all have demons in different shapes I guess.

    I came from 3.6 years of dieting. When I came out, I was extremely hungry. All day and all night literally.It felt like it would never end. After over eating for seven weeks. It finally did tamper off by far. Funny thing is.. In them seven weeks. I only binged a few times. The body is crying for food. When restrict for so long. It don't matter what it is at a point. It's very important to keep protein and fiber in diet. With a little bit of fat. It will help with them extreme hunger pains. Just have to be consitent with it at every meal. Be careful of fiber, It cause very high constipation. I know not to go over 15g. I always become very constipated. It make stool so bulky. Too big to push out ya butt...
    By the way... I wen't from 135.0lbs to 151.1Lbs..(+16.1)Lbs Now it's going down slowly.. Currently at 148.6. I ate a ton of salty food. The majority of my weight is water. From excess sodium and carbs. Now that I have a less ravenous appetite. I take time to plan my meals. Make sure they got protein or fiber at least. Don't get it wrong tho.. I'm not fully healed from dieting. I still have issue but it's lesser. Body is still healing, it's only been 7weeks. Will take many more to conquer diet culture. I'm well on my way and don't care about weight I have gained. I am more healthy, curvy, and I like it : ).

    If you binge and feel you cannot stop, just fall back into maintenance cal count mode. The urge to binge will subside and when you feel stronger, then cut cal slighlty again, for a more moderate weight loss. Keep doing this balance until you reach your goal. Even if you feel like having more calories once or two a month, it’s ok. It helps balance your leptin levels a little bit and you will feel better moving forward. The weight will keep dropping, but slowly. Don’t do what she said, like ‘stop the diet, diet must go” - this is terrible advice. The only thing she said that is worth listening to is to ‘move forward’ - don’t dwell on it, and like I said, fall back into maintenance level cal count. There are several calorie intake calculators online based on your personal information. They can let you know roughly what your cal intake should be for maintenance, and for slow, moderate etc weight loss, all based on your activity level+body comp stats. Do not stop trying to loose the weight you have to loose and trying to reach your goal.

    I just don't know what to do anymore. I try and eat healthy but I just binge anyways! It's so frustrating, it leads me to restrict and that leads to binging.its a infinite loop. I really want help but don't know where to get it from..

    I only binge when Im drunk. Like I will get Home and drunk me will literally eat everything in sight and then I will wake up the morning after and feel so terrible. It sucks and leads me to always being extremely depressed and not wanting to eat anything the entire day

    Hi I am 15 an was over weight now my BMI is normal weight but the way I lost weight was by restructuring I just feel eating is not same anymore i can not eat without guilt anymore I restricted myself for eating rice all purpose flour,oil,sugar,processed food the only thing I ate in one day was 2 rotis and 2eggs and then few minutes ago after finishing my work I opened the fridge and binged 1 bread 2roti 1plate rice 2 pieces of cake and one more egg with curry now I am just extremely disappointed because I finally started getting compliments about my body

    for a snack idea: if you're a sweet tooth i suggest you to try Greek yogurt and cacao powder with some banana and chocolate cereal ( suggestion coco pops)

    Is intermittent fasting included in those diets that you mentioned?

    • @cassiem5607
      @cassiem5607 Před 4 lety +3

      Yes, intermittent fasting is restrictive eating and can certainly lead to a binge. Besides, it doesn't always lead to weight loss, so there isn't really any reason to do it if you're just restricting yourself :)

    Binging made me suicidal for a long time. The shame,guilt, and lack of control was almost unbearable. This is good info.
