Yeah and I would say his influence is even bigger. It touched the whole world for multiple generations. It influenced all the mangas, animes, but also people to get into fitness, or what is a protagonist, what is to be a man, also a master of panneling and rythm, iconic designs. Everything is there. He was the biggest influence of the world, and was alone.
I was thinking the same. There's Tolkien influencing fantasy and Akira Toriyama influencing manga. Osamu Tezuka called him his succesor too and was the one that made manga and anime a truly global phenomenon.
I first found Dragon Ball in 1993. It would premiere on channel 17 at really weird times of the day. One of my first introductions to anime. I found Akira in 1994. Saw Princess Mononoke in theaters. It all started with Toriyama for me. RIP legend.

Despite me having to learn in childhood how to suddenly make Adrenaline rush happen watching Gohan lose his shit after cell kills andriod 16. ~ atm Vinland Saga, Monster, Jujutsu kaisen > Dragon ball in terms of character Uniqueness which despite myself being 30+ adult Vinland saga completely changed my perspective on Love and Death..Jujutsu Kaisen GoJo learning to use his Infinity barrier after Toji kills him also had certain simple life lessons where world Strongest man gives a simple tip like "Keeping your brain lively and Fresh all the time, is key to controlling his powers" Literally destroyed all mental health issues i had when i started to practice that mentality in irl. so yeah Goku isn't the unique one.. he's just Best well written superman type character that credit alone goes to Akira Toriyama. he knows the importance of character like GOKU/gohan/vegita/ unlike JjK's creator who doesn't even realize how epic character Satoru GoJo means to lot of people. RIP Akira Toriyama, my first experience with anime was original Dragon Ball dubbed for Saturday morning cartons in the early 90s. It was such an incredible difference from western cartoons and made me curious about what the rest of the world had to offer.

DB Z (and GitS) introduced me into Anime genre. I was so close to visiting Japan one point myself. I had experience with MoCap and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit the place that inspired artists like Toriyama San. R.I.P.

The amount of impact Toriyama has had on my life in just the formative years of my life will never be taken away, he literally informed my anime taste at a young age which have evolved since then. He helped shape my video game taste when I had been playing final Fantasy for a while and I thought there would never be a better game. And then I played chrono trigger for the first time and it quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. The impact he had on my life is so deep that I feel your guys's pain. It crushed me. I've even cried over it like I lost one of my literal heroes. Stay stay strong guys. It does suck but I can't wait for sand land either and hopefully when it comes out you guys do a deep dive into it.

Been playing Helldivers 2 daily for the last three weeks. Only day I had connectivity issues was last Friday when the mechs come to the game.
In the late 90's we got DBZ on TV in the UK, one of the few Animes on Tv.
Pushed a lot of kids to love Tv shows from Japan, DBZ, Ranman 1/2, Lum (Urusei Yatsura), Tenchi Muyo & Fist of the North Star AKA Hokuto no Ken!
All show's that shaped a generation of 90's kids, id push everyone to look at the Original Dragon Ball manga. The manga starts with Goku as a kid!

Yes Joe ChromeHounds was amazing and wish it got a sequel. Was the most fun I ever Had with a clan, and the customisation was insane for the time. The clan I was in everyone had super unique pain jobs and it was awesome for how old it is
11:10 people are not being unreasonable with saying the new update is un fun, they nerfed things that made higher levels playable and made enemy elites spawn at a ridiculous rate.
They are telling people "you shouldnt have fun like this, you should play it like this".
They took near a month to make armours actually work, hell there was a shotgun that couldnt pierce the armour of eggs on the objective thats how weak it was.
Not being funny any other game dev people would be in arms about for this.

Are you playing helldivers 2 on pc? I am curious as I haven't had issues on ps5 since the main fix. Besides 2 drops that I was able to drop back into last weekend. There is other bugs I've experienced however.
Chrome Hounds was fucking awesome!!! I'm still upset that we never got a Part 2 for that franchise. Simply tweaking your Hounds till you got the maximum of possible weapons on it so you can oneshot near everything was just fun. I miss those times...

Not sure what you mean for HD2. I’ve been playing everyday since they increased the server cap and had some bugs and got load stuck a couple of times but not enough to break my experience. I’ve never been so involved in a game since WoW when it released. Even Made some friends a long the way. It’s so great!

I didn't really like the Mario movie, but I didn't hate it fully. I was mixed on it. But sequels are supposed to be an improvement over the original so I'm hoping the potential sequel is better.

For helldivers 2, playing in oce i never have server issues. Always can connect and play anytime I want and not worry, feels like a na server issue.

agree with Alex, helldivers 2 need an offline mode lobby system like monster hunter at the very least, to justify the live service action not the price but the live service like seriously I think its cool as hell that this game have a very dynamic difficulty depending on the hivemind, the developer who actually act like GM on our game its cool features where dev can changing the flow of the game while online. But still, like Alex said, we paid you, we bought it so let me play the game.
