Watching F1 races here in Italy is pretty common (watched since I was a kid) so I was amazed seeing Peter genuinely discovering F1 for the first time!
Having a weekend at Laguna Seca was quite a treat, mad props to the photographers who do these events. It's so hard to keep up with these cars while you have to hurry with heavy telephoto lenses, its also very dangerous as well such that you might have to wear a hard hat for protection.

I'm so jealous! I've been to race tracks and F1 before, but that pit lane access must be something very special. Can't imagine how cool it is to get that close to the cars.
I used to work for Williams and I literally went for lunch when the race started. It was the most peaceful time to relax in the paddock.

Hi Peter. I spotted you and Matti at the Red Bull hotel lobby reception, but I didn't want to interrupt your conversation. It was my first F1 race as well. Sunday was awesome. Beautiful weather, great crowds, and a fantastic race. Glad to see you had as much fun as my family and I did. My older son is a car fanatic and he loved every minute of it.

When your accredited and down by the actual race track you can feel the cars pull you into the track as they go by. Some of my greatest memories are photographing race cars

Nice one mate - had pit access a couple of times in Adelaide & Melbourne - truly a great experience. The key is to sit on a turn.

I've been shooting the USGP in Austin for the last 3 years and its always a blast. Trying to do panning is insanely difficult, but when you get a good one, its epic. Pro tip - next time try to get a seat at the curves, they slow down enough to get some amazing shots. Looking forward to seeing your shots!!

Very cool for you to experience an F1 race. I primarily work in Motorsport photography in the IMSA and SRO series, however have had experience going to F1 races as a fan. Luckily security had no problem with me bringing a 200-500 lens in as a fan so I was able to get MEGA photos from Miami this year đ

Peter, you should have attempted doing this back in the day of film without motor drive, I remember trying to explain how to take photos using pan method, although it was Silverstone, and Senna and Hill so noise level was amazing
I experienced that here in Australia was one of the best experiences I've ever had, I'll certainly buy it the 2 day pass next year
