FYI: Jerome Kern song long phrases [they ARE] last 10 and 7 seconds [singing words is more difficult than just "hiss"] MEM X5 = 12 seconds, and MEM X7 = 15 seconds

Hi Anna! You can take in more air through your mouth. BUT you can take in even more air by breathing into your mouth and nose at the same time! Check out Episode 2 of Quick Singing Tips "Breathe Through Mouth Or Nose?". -NYVC

Just a small tip that helped me, think of saying me (mem without the final "m") and repeat like the exercise. it helped a bit relax facial tension (:
