I thank God Trevor is our QB now, but I've never wanted a player to be good as badly as I wanted Blake to be good.
If Blake has better mechanics he could have been way better. I look forward to seeing how good Trevor can be.
For what it matters... y'all have the potentially best young QB in the NFL.... honestly I thought y'all were going to give up on him...... I'm a Texans fan but y'all have potential Now
Well as for Blake he had a bad line …and took hella sacks can’t really blame dude
I'm not even a jags fan, but I completely agree.. Blake seemed like a great dude I always wished he brought it together on the field
Trevor is our guy!
The best thing he ever did was provide The Good Place with a long running joke. Jason's love for Blake Bortles was endearing AF.
I will yell BORTLES! while throwing random items for the rest of my life.
Blake Bortles will live on eternal in the good place
Myles Jack wasn’t down
Really digging these long form videos of late! Love the way you edit it to still make it feel quick and snappy!
Long live the Boat!
Not gonna mention the “Myles Jack Wasn’t Down” TD that would’ve put the Jags up 17
Jags got royally screwed against the Patriots. The refs only called 1 foul against the Patriots that whole game. While they couldn't stop throwing flags for the Jags. Not to mention the no calls.
Pats whole run in the playoff that years was rigged. No way a teams only get 1 penalty in 3 games post season straight meanwhile the other teams have like almost 10 penalty. Also, Tennessee was rob by a wtf False start called on defense on the Specials Teams play that I never ever experienced and see before. That give pats the automatic first down and that ended titans season.
Just subscribed. You’re really good at what you do👍🏼😀
Just stumbled on this video! Amazing stuff!!!
Just checked out your take on Rosen, I like your delivery, keep it up! Now on to this one and subbed up 😊
The blake bortles era was definitely a roller coaster time and both fun and distressing to watch.
And while i rooted real hard for Blake, i also knew that he wasnt gonna be the future. And i kind of hated that the jags didnt pursue a cheaper QB (IE anyone not named Kirk Cousins) in the 2018 FA.... like maybe Alex Smith, whose style of play complemented very well with what the jaguars wanted to do.
Of course, had alex smith came here and did what he did with Washington, the jags might not be sitting where they are today with a potential superstar qb. And we might have missed out on Minshew Mania and that would have been a shame.
As a Saints fan, I know how it feels to be robbed of a superbowl trip by the referees. That should have been a touchdown
as a cowboys's fan and a Dez Bryant fan I concur.
@@novikane14 yeah, he for sure caught it
@@novikane14karma for the picked up flag vs detroit on obvious pi 🤷♂️
Cant complain when yall literally did it the week before
For a guy getting sacked so much, he hung in there. Like Andrew Luck, eventually the injuries pile up and the stats begin to fall. Bortles didn't get a fair shot but he made the most of what he got, considering the circumstances. I was a fan of him, I hate seeing guys with big ups get beat on and wasted on teams with crap coaches, crap players and crap owners. That's not exactly fertile ground.
I ran across your channel yesterday because of your rosen video and have to say I absolutely love your channel. Can't wait for future videos. And can't wait possibly a sam Bradford video in the future as well
Great video Lauren. The breakdown videos are really enjoyable
I want them 02's back.
Love this video. Live in Jacksonville and been a lifelong Jags fan. 2017 was a fun season.
Love your videos
It's the Jaguars year! Appreciate your time here Blake!
Yeahhh about that
This realy is one example that anything csn happen at sny time so enjoy n cherish the moments
Big facts
Sad That Jason Mendoza never got to see his man Blake Bortles win the big one 😢
Amazing video, very very good story.
Thanks from Mexico :)
This channel is dope.
Thank you
Great video. Thank you.
nice content--subbed
I really enjoy this channel. I love the energy you bring to your content and all the subject matter you cover. My ex wanted to be an anchor on sportscenter and that’s what caught my attention and got me closer to her.
Creepy….
😮
You definitely will do a better job then most of them women working as sport analysis on ESPN!!❤️💯
when his career was cut short after 6 seasons, he had a 6.2 yard per carry, which would place him 4th all time, although he doesn't have enough attempts to qualify, because they fired him.
Cut short? No, his career was longer than it should have been.
Your talking about someone who was 1 quarter away from getting to the super bowl, which is more than qbs who make tons of money.
@@j.s.friedman9649 So I see you're sticking with the narrative that Bortles was the reason they had success that year. No, it was mostly the defense, the Historical Sacksonville. That season Bortles had his lowest career stats since his rookie year, meaning the less he did the better the team was. The defense didn't have to cover as many of his mistakes which enabled them to perform at a high level. It was quite evident Bortles sucked when had a complete melt down the following season and was essentially fired midway into the first year of his new extension. "One quarter away from the Super Bowl" is like all those Wentz fans who won't stop saying "he almost won an MVP". And the tons of money part, that's what happens when someone is overpaid. Should not have been a first round pick let alone #3 overall.
He didn't have a complete breakdown after that season, he was incredibly consistent and that year was no different than any year. In fact, like any quarterback he needed a good team to support him that's all. I admit he had a total breakdown in the 4th quarter of the championship game, but that's what's sports psychologists are for. What he's capable is the perfect game against Pittsburg to get to the championship game 357 yrds passing in the air. Bortles was there when they had terrible teams, as soon as some young stud good defense came along he nearly took them to the superbowl @@clarkkent1521
Imagine having T Law in those Sacksonville days😊😊😊😅😂🎉🎉
the could have won the Super Bowl then imo!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention how the Steelers were constantly looking ahead to the AFC Championship and basically acting like Jacksonville didn’t exist.
I mean Mark Sanchez went to two straight AFC championship games....u know the funny thing....both teams had below average QBs with amazing defenses
Sanchez made double the AFC championship games, beating Manning on the way to one and Brady on the way to the other.
Great video Lauren you know your details it’s crazy to think about how he went from the afc championship game to being cut unreal I think they have him a lot of disrespect looking ahead to the jaguars future I think they can win a Super Bowl with Trevor Lawrence in the next few years.
0:36 I had to sub after that 😂😂
“The boat the goat” 😂😂
Good video
So a Better Version of Trent Dilfer just without the Superbowl Win, your in your Element with These Quick Comedic insights at Untold Stories around the NFL
Awesome!!
The Bort man! Yeah he got molded all right! 11:30 great flashback!
I like these deep dive videos on QBs really good stuff I'd like to see one on Cam Newton and Carson Wentz
Lauren this is the first video I’ve seen from your channel, you’re pretty good. At least now Jacksonville finally is heading in the right direction again, but this time around it’s looking like they’re here to stay. As a Patriots fan, it was almost like Karma in a way that they lost to the Eagles in the Super Bowl considering some of the officiating that I’ll have to admit wasn’t on an even playing field. Crazy that now in 2023 the Patriots future isn’t looking that great while the Jaguars have one of the brightest futures ahead. Trevor Lawrence definitely looks like he could lead Jacksonville to a Super Bowl eventually
9:46 To this day As a Steelers fan, that divisional debacle still doesn't piss me off, it only perplexes me. Just one gargantuan "HOW?!" 🤨😐
It did give us a cool Cold Open for the AFC Championship by John Malkovich though
You missed all the terrible calls on that championship game
Ah yes, the Tragedy of Sackson Abbeys Lord Bortles.
You nailed it. Not really his fault. He got screwed by Jacksonville. They rushed him. He never got the confidence he needed.
Nah he just mid
The dude couldn't throw, literally. He still had to go to offseason QB camp in his third year to learn how to spiral.
That Jags Vs Titans was my first nfl game
Loved the time that BB5 was in charge, especially the 2017 season. That was just such a fun season to watch until we got robbed. The #MJWD play will always sting, like 1999, but I'm ecstatic that we had the season we did last year, and hoping that it doesn't turn into 2017 2.0. But with T-Law, Dougie P, our receiving core, Engram, and a very solid D, I would be very shocked if we have a regression on that caliber.
The defense was in charge. 2017 was the year Bortles did the least, having career low stats since his rookie year. The less he did the better the team was.
That’s another W video Lauren!
I'm enjoying Katie Nolan's new CZcams channel.😂😂😂
Long live the BOAT, one of the quarterbacks of all time
What's BOAT?
You fans are the reason the team kept him so long and set the franchise back several years.
Jack wasn't down
He should've been a sb qb. Miles Jack wasn't down...
He was Not down... Still Hurts...
Amazing videos Lauren, l got Patrick Mahomes on my fantasy football team this year
Myles Jack wasn't down
I was rooting for Bortles to make good in the NFL as I enjoyed watching him play at UCF.
But no rookie has been successful with a poor OL and don't seem to reverse their career.
I'm a 3rd generation life long lions fan. I wanted hendon hooker even before the injury. But with the ACL or Achilles tear it's almost better. He was a 3rd round pick and fans can't demand he play this year. It's becoming a luxury for a rookie QB to sit and learn for even a single year
That 2018 season was NOT helped very much though with Tom Coughlin being a literal piece of garbage. He may have had a good career as a coach before, but he WAS THE REASON the Jaguars do so badly and fell apart in the 2018 season. He definitely is up there with some of the worst GMs in NFL history. Just because he had a good draft and made a good team for 2017 doesn't mean he isn't held accountable for his childish policies and temper tantrums that derailed the Jaguars in 2018. It took 3 damn years to clean up after the mess he left for us and rewrite this culture he ruined in the locker room.
Found a new YT! Lesssgooooo
The Jags should go back to those jerseys. I came so close to buying one but they changed them
It was my Second year following the league, when I decided to root for a Second team. A underdog. It. Was the Jags. It was the year of the Boat!
Really awesome commentary and football insight going to be the next Aaron Andrews even better
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment!!!
Somehow you forgot to mention if he was allowed to keep playing, he would have set records for running yards and yards per carry.
Come on. Where is the “ The Good Place “ shout out. .
& Rise again by just being the coolest guy on the planet. Long live the BOAT!
A “tuddy”? Please. No
When you say scrambling for your life, yea your right, Bortles never missed a game from being injured-- failed to mention that one too I see.
He was never the QB Messiah talent that was expected of the 3rd pick. Could have been serviceable in JAX for many more years and keep competitive though. Staff personnel sucked.
Myles Jack wasn't down!!!
I was at UCF with Blake. I was so happy when he got drafted and wanted him to be great so badly. Sad his career didn’t pan out. The Jags ruined him.
Bortles sucked. I really can't understand why people won''t admit that.
It’s unfortunate that the Jags didn’t build the offence around Bortles
He wouldn't be able to do anything with it. Defense is clearly what made them successful in 2017 and defense is the only way Bortles could succeed. That is the same year Bortles had the lowest stats of his career since being a rookie. The less Bortles did the better the team was.
I’ll always hate on the Jags for eliminating my Steelers in that divisional round, but gotta respect their D. That was the rise of Jalen Ramsey. It’s sad to know that only if the Steelers had won that game, they would’ve gone the next week and crush the Pats, and probably destroyed the Eagles in the SB too…I mean stopping the Killer B’s back then was like trying to stop the rain with your hands.
They wouldn’t have beat the patriots
The patriots owned the Steelers when the had Brady
Nah as much as i hate the patriots big ben always played them like they had a gun to his families head. They woulda got slaughtered
Also nick foles was on his bullshit i dont think anyone but philly wins that
Miles Jack wasn't down
I still love Blake Bortles!
If Leonard Fournett would of caught that pass we would of went to the Super Bowl.
You forgot to mention that he is a two time Blake of the year winner
Man the jags were only 10-6 in 2018? The way that team was spoken about before I swear they went 13-3 lol
Eagles beating the patriots in that super bowl was more satisfying that year
The famous question should also be can he take hits? It is more then a physical sport!
long history of developing star qbs.. i could feel the knife dig. lol
One important thing that gets glossed over often is that a lot of those franchise record breaking numbers that he piled up during the 2015 season were accumulated during garbage time. Loved Bortles, but he could only play well when things were smooth sailing… aka playing second fiddle to one of the best defenses ever in 2017.
It’s not so tragic when you look at his career earnings and if you’ve seen his house
Gotta go Minshew then Trevor next. To finish the Jaguars QB Trilogy
I think Jacksonville made a mistake cutting him after that one bad season after he was making improvements. His contract was cheep . That’s more money to spend on defense and to make jalen happy and stay. He did get paid to be “ THe Guy “ but that year everyone expected him too even Lenny was injured all year .. smh this was the first action that ruined sacksonville.
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME WAS RIGGED AF. made me quit watching for 2 years. Made me actually sick.
I dont want to relive that shit
Goat Boat slander WILL NOT be tolerated
🛥🚢⛴️🛳🚤⛵️
🐆🐆🐆
Pretty good video BUT please take it easy with all the sound effects. Just my humble opinion.
At least the jags have Trevor Lawrence now I can’t wait for them too ball out next season they gone be a problem and underrated asf
To be a fall there had to have a been a rise in the first place.
Rise…? What rise?! That was just pure luck being carried by the defense and the rookie running back.
18 year old Lauren was awesome. 👍
I didn't have a dog in that battle, but refs screwed the jags in that patriots game.
Myles Jack Wasn’t Down!!!
Blake Beartles!
Mark brunell is easily the best jags qb
When she talks about the Jags >>>
Myles Jack wasn't down 😒😫
How is this the most tragic story in the history of the NFL? This is a relatively normal career for most players.
He had one amazing season but his fall off was terrible
he was fun to root for.
