I used to be a fan, but after this masterpiece of engineering I'm a whole air conditioner
Very well put
Damn this is emotional
I almost drown on my coffee because of you! 😂
well, someone has to vent those toxic fumes
The corkscrew sold it for me too 👍
This Let's Engineer It Out video has a lot less game breaking carnage than usual
Sup
This is it.
Matt brings a different type of carnage
Matt's voice is not nearly as sexy as Josh's though
It seems like they are probably good friends
The train driver is probably cursing after the architect who designed that road.
thats more like a roller coaster xD
I think train drivers are called engineers.
No it’s conductor plus it’s the future so it’s automatic
It's very Engineerlike how RCE calmly comments that he isn't making enough oxygen so the population is going down...
Its fine..people are definitely choosing to leave, they're not suffocating en masse in their homes.
@@tsk9277 Certainly all the hover trucks have oxygen scrubbers, so they’re like, “We’re here already, let’s just leave!” Right? Right…
Ya there just leaving not suffocating
his voice makes catastrophe seem calming
@@Hummingbird-ju7tk it is calming, when you are the city admin, its just numbers !
That corkscrew railway is a thing of engineering beauty
this man literally made a yt carreer on drawing knobs everywhere :D love it.
somewhat like telepurte that made a carreer out of drawing booba
@@monad_tcp real
As someone who started playing Infraspace because of your videos, looking at your "not grid-like city"... It's a lot more frustrating trying to get a grid built with 90 and 180 degree roads than it is watching you fail at it. The struggle is real, folks. The struggle is real.
When you put down buildings and they go nah I'm only going to go down one way not next to the building, throwing everything off. That passes me off the most
@@liammozz Or how it's docking to the road, you move ONE BUILDING, and now NOTHING is docking to the road... Just suddenly for no reason.
It's still a fun game, though. I LOVE the railways.
It was Timberborn for me. Now I want Mount and Blade II because of some other tea drinkimg Brit.
I remember running two long roads 90 degrees (using the in game system) off of the same highway and eventually when I got around to looking at them from another angle they weren't parallel at all.
@@graeme.davidson Ah yes, the butterlords.
I've been playing this for a while - figured out you need to feed the city from multiple roads, you can't have one main that branches off. Outskirts don't get supplies or you get massive traffic jams.
Before the train update allowing easier movement I had two sets of highways one side for completed resources going to the homes and the other to go around to factories, but everything had to be really spread out for the traffic to work properly
So what you're saying is he needs a giant Round about around his city as the main road? lol
When I made my newest city, I have new people, O2, and basic food coming from the highway that all the house rows branch off of. All the other supplies come from the other end of the branches from a train station. So far no problems getting supplies where they're needed and traffic doesn't get backed up.
@@paulketner5077 Trains didn't exist for most of this particular series, you actually had to plan out one ways and industry only roads to really reduce traffic. He'd have to almost entirely redesign his city to really make use of the trains for that kind of functionality, or more simply add more roads, and in all honesty, he's playing for fun, not micromanaging every little aspect to min/max production and reduce traffic efficiently.
You have been my favourite youtuber since i discovered this channel
Same here
Same here!
Stop speaking such truths!!!!!!
@@dashadowgirl no sorry ;)

This is one of my favorite series!
Here, I have ranked my top 3 from you:
1.Timberborners
2.Infraspace
3.Freeways
(It wasn’t easy to decide between Infraspace and Freeways.)
I also like see him going crazy playing Minecraft, but Freeways is so satisfying!
I like timberborners too
I would say these are my top 3 in that order too
Let say E after this comment
I like those as well but the mini motorways and sister games with metro and planes are up there for me as well
Ah yes, infraspace the game where Matt becomes an highway architect
What a traitor!!!!
I love how paddie just raises his ears while tilting his head like "what do you mean I gotta grow up dad?"
In this episode an engineer discovers that insane road and rail layouts screw with infrastructure delivery.
“Imagine if that’s what trains looked like, constant line of trains” would it just be a conveyor belt at that point?
I love how you use your experience and background to apply and comment on game mechanics. It's amazing! 👍
RCE is an architect the train line and the crazy roads are proof
Okay, I have to say it. The fancy road designs are usually silly, but this helix one was GORGEOUS, mate!
Bet you could be an engineer if you wanted to lol
One day...
I think you should make a secondary exit off the computer highway at the back of the habitats to split the main road load
Matt: you can't be a puppy anymore.
Paddy: *surprised Pikachu face*-ish
If it's anything like Cities:Skylines (which it looks like it is), you need to make your interchanges way more efficient. Round abouts man. Split your traffic so they can get to where they need without using the main road. The best solution is two round abouts with a wide arching shaft that loops up and back through the city, and some pub--- errr... off shoots that go to the side roads from the nut- errr.... round abouts.
7:40 the reason they are stuck is three lane road goes into two lane road
The Rollercoaster Trainline is pure art! Love it
I will have you know, good sir, that is an Erlenmeyer flask, not a test tube.
What's with this architect speak?
@@droe2570 I would argue that being correct and precise is engineer speak, while being vague and incorrect belongs to the realms of architects.
Highway engineer being the key word...
Perhaps, a Railway Architect in secret?
Low tier fans: "what a cute dog"
Chad fans: *Waiting patiently for that drum performance on livestream*
Theres definitely architecture going on in this lot of videos
Cleverly disguised like an engineer tho
Love it 😂 😂
Dude, I envy and covet with admiration the work you put your channel. You cheer me up every time
Glad to hear it, thanks for letting me know!
thank you for showing me the beauty of engineering
This was the first video of yours I’ve seen. And the addition of the wonderful, “knobs”, was a cherry on top. Immediately subscribed
Just wanted to say after having the same problem with traffic management. Once you get to level 6 it will only get worse everything will get stuck in a traffic jam and your habitats will downgrade straight to level 1 after not receiving enough oxygen. That's were trains come in. They can efficiently distributed traffic and at the same time be a buffer for products. So it's probably worth having a main station at the residential area and having train lines come in with all produced products produced at different districts.
RCE: i dont't want to expend too fast
Also RCE: build 1k more jobs than people.
There is a production tab in the top left that allows you to see if you have too much or too little of, and can adjust the jobs accordingly. I just had the same issue as you then saw I made too much of one building and it needed so many jobs. Hopefully that will help you greatly!
You can also set up a queue of things to be researched. The most I have had queued up was 7 of them.
I love the infraspace series . hopefully you upload more.
You brighten my day thanks RCE (:
15:50 nice cardigan! Looks warm.
Real civil engineering needs to play more of this game, I bet he is just scared of the challenge and Is secretly an architect!
In case you didn't know/if no one else has said it, you can actually choose how to distribute your workers, so you can fix the "need oxygen for people but people to produce oxygen", or any other problem like that! Hope this helps!
He opens the panel in the video, but obviously isn't using it since Iron and Alum are massively over-producing.
One of my favorite series's of yours but would like to see how it would run if done efficiently.
Wdym he is clearly using the strongest and most efficient shapes 😂 a true beauty of engineering
Would be super cool to have a merch design that has a tornado including several of the classic 'Nado' items that have been in the past lol
5:10 that thing give me a nightmare because you need a lot of nanotubes for that and even i place a whole bunch of them is still yellow in the production tab witch is im happy now
I, for one, look forward to the day that RCE completes his ascension to "hey there it's Matt from let's game it out"
Speaking of... Satisfactory when?
Yes! The two of them are so vastly different, but so very much the same!
I came for the engineering, thought I stayed for the strongest shape jokes but turns out those random puppy cameos are my daily dose of serotonin. 😭
I'm glad 😅
The corkscrew train line reminds me of the helix bridge here in singapore
It’s okay Paddy, you’ll always be a pupper in my heart
dogs are tecnically pupper forever, they don't become full wolves.
If you want to have a smoother flow of traffic, I suggest you make multiple lanes of roads that split off at unloading points. I've never played the game but from what I can tell it's similar to factorio
i was thinking, in all of the gaps between the wind turbines you might put solar panels maybe? that way you will get more power where you can't build wind turbines due to the drop in efficency
5:38 When you play a space- agme to get away from Ciities Skylines traffic and they comne back to haunt you :)
@16:30 - You should have made that road come out the tip of the STRONGEST train loop.
Great series !
This is one of my favorite series you are going now
that corkscrew train line would be terrifying
This and Timberborn are my favorite things about the channel.
The train is actually sick.
Maybe to reduce traffic purple truck you make road from back home(from park direction)
Paddy really makes the videos special
We need a recording of Matt playing that drumset he has. I would very much like to see that.
Watch my 100k subscriber special mate!
This is my favourite series! Keep up the great work RCE!
Wow, some of these roads look like they were designed by architects.
Yeah... Kinda weird... and it's definitely still Matt...
9:56 if you look all the way down it looks like san francisco except the homes are not normal
Just got and started playing the game last night after watching a few of yours and ImKibitz videos on it. Loving it!
Did you know you can queue research? 😉 Not sure of it only became possible in a recent update or been there for a while.
Keep up the fantastic videos. Love your style 👍
If there's one thing real civil engineer does well and that's making road life exciting for his sims.
I love InfraSpace.
Period.
"Beautiful rollercoaster railway" instead of efficient.
That's something a architect would do.
The trains look like dragons going about the 3 was highway, looks awesome
My two favourite games you play are Infraspace and Timberborn. :) Shame I missed out on the free Infraspace key but I couldn't find a single one if my life depended on it (and trust me, I *tried*). (Naturally, once they were pointed out in the comments, I saw them straight away.) lol
13:30 now its a roller-coaster game !
You’re such an architect, as those designs prove
Matt, i can’t help but notice the drum set you have behind the scenes, can we see you play ?
That train line is pretty much just a conveyor belt lol
Imagine working as the driver of that train, getting chance to be in a roller coaster everyday in his life :O
"You're a plushy, not a puppy." (Paddy walks away, sadly.)
Um, there is a production tab top left where you can see you production and consumption, and set labour levels for individual industries. You might want to look at that, unless you feel that it would make things too easy.
23 thousand views in the first two hours?! Congrats man!🥳
You doing great, man! Keep it up!!👍👍
Matt, if you don't play Factorio after this game, I will personally get a degree in architecture
Corkscrew of doom...I'm in love. 😆
Hello! Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷
I found your channel a few months ago, and I just adore see you playing those tricky awesome games: some I even got after see you playing, some I already have on my Steam and I get back to it after watching you. I wonder, have you try Autonauts? Sounds like a game for you. I know that I'm having a blast playing it, but I'm sure that would be great to see you trying it too. Ok, enough of chatting, bye!
This is the best series of this channel ^-^
this Engineer has been designing amazing roads with the mind of "GASP" an ARCHITECT!!!!
He didn't design them himself, his architect prisoners did. obviously. ☺
Paddy is adorable! His coat looks so lush!
This game is fun! I play it a lot, but it would be more challenging if the ressources had specific amount based on their sice!
Bro, I love all your content...but the InfraSpace stuff is my favourite. You gotta make these longer or do more of them
“You’re a plushie not a puppy.”
Me: lol
“Oh no, everyone is dying because there aren’t enough workers!”
2 minutes later:
“Let’s build a huge new production line! What could go wrong?”
2 minutes later: “Why are all the houses downgrading again?”
5:41 basically LA during rush hour
This series and Timberborn are instant views from me! :)
100% would want to work on that rail line.
We can raise/lower(but no tunnels) roads but not rails. If I am wrong, tell me and HOW to do it.I tried R/L-L(was changed from default) and page up/down,nothing.
That railway has the ability to pass its genetic makeup onto its decendants
You can queue up future research to start immediately after the current one finishes.
with all the purple vans it could be that where they are coming from the roads arnt like directed right.
I love this series, even though my Factorio brain is twitching every step of the way! 😆😆
PS! Does the drum kit belong to Paddy along with the plushies?
Look at who is showing off his massive road architecture work!
Your work is becoming more and more architectural lol
Matt: "I wonder why this isn't working as efficiently as I need it."
Also Matt: **makes pointlessly long circular road systems, causing everything to take ridiculous amounts of time to get where it needs to be**
I love this series thank you
3:25 Future trains must have omni-wheels
Hello. I'd love to see you make some videos on "Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic" or "Space Engineers". I think you'd dig them too. Cheers!
0:38 Hey you frogot to talk about your new merch coming soon!
16:41 that looks like Cluster Trucks
i think its easier to think this game as factorio rather than a city planner
Yay this is such a good game and please do more trailmakers
