- 12 Year Old Girl's First Deer, INCREDIBLE! The 2022 Deer Season Saga And Incredible End.
We moved to Mississippi in the summer of 2022 and deer season came upon us fast.
Frankie was determined to not only learn to shoot, get her hunter safety course complete and get a hunting license, but to hunt and harvest a deer her first season here. What an undertaking!
There are first deer kill traditions that need to be followed here, it is important for a youth hunter to understand wildlife management and what being a good steward of the land and animals is all about. What a great feeling it is as a father and teacher to smear the blood of the harvest on the face of a hunter when they kill their first deer!

Great story, (mostly) great videography, and really fine editing to get the tale told.... There were several heart-stoppers, but the grabber for me was the last scene--after all was said and done and the director called cut--when Frankie went back in for that genuine and spontaneous hug. Congratulations to Frankie, and you Mike for teaching her the right and humane way to hunt, I used to be a hunter, went deer hunting with my father and family one time, on my own land years later, unsuccessfully, and ceased because of many reasons. Your story at the end of the video was something I had never heard, the Patron Saint of Hunters, thank you for that. Bless you and Frankie on a successful hunting season.

Btw, you doing the FFA thing is cool.Stick with it. I only got my local and state farmers degrees but wish I had kept on and worked to get me national farmers degree. I too was an officer.

My goodness Syd, if someone.viewed CZcams videos trying to find the best videos, this would have to be in the top 5! Drew’s Lens just released one about replacing a broken “Hillside Cross” that was impressive as well! But this is just so personal and all about bonding and preparing them for life’s challenges! Just because you have set it for a goal, doesn’t mean you aren’t going to have work for it! I doubt that Frankie will ever fail at something she truly want to accomplish! I remember when my oldest son harvested his first buck. Boy was he proud. But when it came to field dressing time, he just watched me the whole time. The next year a real old hill country Texas buck came in and my son was shaking like a wet dog. First time I had seen buck fever up close. "Shoooooot it Daaaaad pleasee" well I complied. Now he just wants to bow hunt. Congrats on a fine bonding hunt. NOTHING BETTER IN LIFE.

Frankie, I highly recommend You start a journal to record Your huntin and fishin experiences. I really wish I had done that 60 years ago when my Daddy let me start shootin doves on Our Dove shoots here in Georgia. Girl, I am so proud of You, You have no idea how rare You are in today’s society. And I’m sure You know how blessed You are to have the Parents You have. Wow! This is just all kinds of awesome! First of all, congratulations to you all, and especially Frankie! That first one is always special! When I saw her take the safety off and put that index finger along the stock, and NOT inside that trigger guard yet, I knew she had been paying attention to her excellent training! Once she was ready, that index finger went inside the trigger guard and it was go time. That's just well done, Frankie! That St. Hubert presentation choked me up too! Dang y'all!! Now, it's gobbler time!!

I fought back tears most of this video. She learned step by step and took it seriously. Getting up at 430am sucks. Day after day she worked. Until she was successful. Dad had the whole thing planned out and it went nothing like he expected. Great shooting Annie Oakley. The silver charm at the end broke me open.
