No Other Assassin's Creed Game Fully Captures This Feeling

- This is just a little something I recorded while I was out on the town clip hunting for the new Master Assassin competition.
Something about it reminded me of the skill ceiling and understanding of movement/ parkour in the classic games, and specifically AC1 can really make you feel like a master of your surroundings.
no mods here.

The sound of Altair's equipment as he's traversing on rooftops is just so damn satisfying to listen to.
@@Kaino-wo3vc AC-SMR
@@Ropotopolous HECK YEAH!!!
Man, old AC hits different. The clip clop, the weird vaulting mechanics, and the feel of the districts actually having different personalities is something that hasn’t been replicated since.
@@Kryonis1 it's a special game.
Dude if this gets a remake and (most importantly) its done right this will be the best AC game imo
@@Blackwhale-gl4lc it would need to be heavily monitored by people in the community lol
I remember playing this as a child in a cybercafe. It blew my mind forever, and I played all AC games as they came out afterwards, and even as a 12yo I could realize how it slowly dumbed down and the tone became goofier than serious. I replayed most of these last years and AC1 remains the best one by far.
@@Guille-mz7xf all 4 of the original games are so solid
AC1 has the best level design for parkour. There are so many options to take from any location. It's so smooth to move around in this game.
I like to imagine Vidik watching Desmond's exploration via live feed on his laptop and going "we didn't design the interface or controls for all that, how the fuck is he doing that"
I know AC2 might feel a bit smoother but I hate that weird animation Ezio does when you jump at a ledge diagonally. He stops for a minute and catches himself but in AC1 this isn’t a thing. I don’t know why they added it.
He's just not as good as Altair?
Playing AC2 right now. I haven't noticed this animation.
@@wasteurtime5677 it’s definitely there.
For me this game was all my life from 2007 to 2010
I really was amazed
AC1 either needs a remake or the series needs to revisit the high medieval setting.
I LOVE THIS SHOW I LOVE IT I LOVE THE ROPOTOPOLOUS SHOW
AC 1 is also the most philosophically complex game. It's up there with MGS2 when it comes to the complexity of its themes.
The big problem is the removal of wall eject. It was the biggest contributor to the increased skill ceiling.
Removed when? Iirc it was still there in unity
@@BygoneT Origins does kind of have it but it does not quite work like it did before. It is way more restrictive.
You just reminded me that I have yet to try some movement with Henry's mod here. I mean, this is in fact where my addiction to the classics started - once I caught myself spending upwards of 1 hour figuring out smooth bureau entries/exits, I knew it was done for hahah
@@triple7evenn I love doing bureau exits. I suck at entries. The other ac1 clip I have (you might have seen it yesterday or today) has an exit part that I will add to the 1 minute clip later on.
The og has my best parkour and combat of all time after ac3
Ah, you'll take a clip from this video and send it to MasterAssassin
@@TheSerbianAssassin13 no. I have a much better one for that.
Crazy man. I am gonna buy AC mirage on monday, I hope. And then I will proceed to Ezios collection.
@@alexandrecoelhodesousa5713 Ezio collection first. I demand it.
@@Ropotopolous Technically its not possible. Since I like both mirage and ezios collection equally. I couldnt decide which to buy. Both i enjoy the same, so a roullete decided for me. I personally enjoy mirage a bit more than ezios collection, still I enjoy both games and love them both.
@@Ropotopolous Also, I probably Will but ac 3 remastered instead.
@alexandrecoelhodesousa5713 my brother, please don't do that
@@Ropotopolous why not? Has the best combat ever. Animations are insane. I really like it and enjoy it as a One man ARMY man.
AC1 can be summed in 1 sentence: "Clunky to max... Exactly like a Russian video game".
Some reviews got it right by saying that it's a great concept; but a very rough, repetitive execution.
I need a remake for this game I only got a ps5 son no way to play this 😫
@@damndatscrazyyy940 I bought an old Xbox one specifically for ac1 haha
@@Ropotopolous yeah was thinking to do something like that too
Get a cheap laptop/pc. Runs fine for me
Are you planning to use this for the master assassin vid cuz it’s really good you already beat me. Also how do you do that like mantle type move im on Xbox.
Nahhh the clip I have for that is much better than this one.
You hold a and b at the same time but it only works at certain times, like when chaining jumps together or pulling up on a Ledge
@@Ropotopolous alr thank you so much for that good luck in the video I know your clip is gonna be fire.
When the game was simple
This is unmodded I assume. How exactly did you vault over the chimney?
@@woodearthdvd hold a/b at the same time, only works in certain situations, usually after a jump or series of jumps
@@Ropotopolous It looked like you were already on the flat part of the roof before the chimney vault so I thought there were controls I was missing. The chimney must have been closed enough after you land from the jump for the vault to trigger.
@woodearthdvd also works after climbing up, sorry my bad
why u fanboys celebrate ac1 realism, then armtwist ubi to mod mirage parkour into unrealistic flying upward leaps, I will, never understand
@lazypops3117 uh ohhhh somebody is overconfidently speaking on a topic they aren't very educated on!
The community has been asking for height gaining ejects (something ac1 has and is showcased in this very video) back since origins. The community modded it into existence and ubi followed their lead.
It can be a bit goofy at times since the system wasn't originally intended to be able to do those kinds of moves, but they did what they could.
Sorry for starting out this message so mean. I'm not deleting it tho.
