Jim had the mentality of a 50 year old man while he was in his 20s.... Waiting for The Sun is a great one by The Doors

Great to have you back Biz! This song has always had kind of a circus feel to me, like a dark circus.

Classic! Check out "I Can't See Your Face in My Mind" from that same album. It's one of my favorites of their songs. As for which of their albums was the most successful, that depends on how success is measured. According to the chart stats listed at the wikipedia entries for their albums, on the US Billboard 200, their debut went to 2, Strange Days went to 3, Waiting for the Sun went to 1, The Soft Parade went to 6, Morrison Hotel went to 4, and LA Woman went to 9. Measured by how many copies sold. I don't know. Answering that question takes more work than I want to do right now. Another cinematic spinoff worth a watch is the 1995 sci-fi film Strange Days, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, from a story by James Cameron, starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis, Tom Sizemore, and Vincent D'Onofrio. It flopped at the box office, but I suspect that was because audiences weren't yet ready for the story it told.

Absolutely. When you look at their catalogue, the number of iconic songs that have seeped deep into the culture, is crazy. Including this one.

Ray Manzarek's keyboards (piano/organ/harpsichord) always adds that carnival/circus flavor!

This song is absolutely one of their most famous, but the list of their famous, successful songs is pretty long anyway. They captured something about the era of the 60s but it also translates to now or any other time.

Polarizing band when I was a youth in the 70's. No in between people loved them or hated them. No I kinda like the Doors lol. I love em. LA WOMAN best driving tune in your 70s American muscle car. ( buddy had a couple GTO's). Great band. Peace.
