Garage Renovation Part 1: Tire Storage Racks

Tires on rims should not be stored that way. That method of storage(upright) is okay for tires without rims.

Can you explain the reason behind that logic?

I’m guessing he’s referring to developing flat spots? That’s probably true on flat ground like concrete, but this seems to cradle the tire across two points.
