In the first part of this video, I go over 10 of the most common items to come across when playing Pokemon competitively. The list is not extensive, but with this introduction to Pokemon held items, you should easily be able to interpret how other held items work as well.
In the second part, there is a Top 10 list of abilities I think is important to be familiar with when battling competitively. The same principle applies here, as to the section for items, which is that once you have been given a general presentation of useful abilities on competitive teams, you are better equiped to interpret the effects of the other abilities that were not part of this video.
In the last part of this video, I go over Type Effectiveness, which is really important in battling. But it's not just the Super Effective hits that are important to memorize, but also the "not very effective" hits, so that you can switch out a vulnerable Pokemon into a different Pokemon that can take the attack just fine.

Correction: Sitrus Berry heals *1/4* of a Pokémon's total HP, not 1/3 as stated in the video. I got Sitrus confused with the flavor berries, which heal *1/3* bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Figy_Berry

There is no official ranking or anything, but you can play against other people in the games and so they do work! There will be lots of people in *Nirtheart* to battle anyway, and I'll be having battle livestreams on these games, too!

@@nirtheart no that’s good but to me that’s casual play. I like playing in regional events and stuff and that’s just not supported with the new games.
