I remember meeting her in Kuwait as we transitioned back from Iraq. She sat down and just chatted with us for hours. No hype, no jokes, just a sweet Kathy hanging out with some battle worn soldiers. She had an opinion and she expressed herself, but she’s a true patriot. Kinda ironic she had the balls to go to a war zone but the lump she made fun of didn’t.

BUILD, you have to mic the audience. It's really not cool to have a comedian on and be unable to hear the audience react. They add laugh tracks to shows for a reason.

I was ok watching this as a dark comedian myself commenting through a ghost account, but 37:40 broke me.
you can hear her voice shake when shes mentioning "I love every minute of it. I do every show like its my last, because it might be..*laughs to lighten it* ". after what shes been through after the mask and ketchup ordeal, which i've been with her through for years, i can't imagine how she truly feels without mentioning all jokes aside, fully knowing what these "powerful" people get away with so you have to fight fire with fire or they will permanently extinguish you.. i truly think shes become a little rightfully paranoid that shes always being watched with a red dot on her forehead simply turned invisible but trailing her. Kathy's behaviour throughout her life, the way she's handled the storm of protest since the Trump picture and the way she continues to find ways to thrive despite continued attacks from prominent Trumptards and those in the media. There are many people who would crumble after receiving death threats and that level of vicious scrutiny yet Kathy still speaks out against the Trump administration and their treatment of immigrants, women and LGBT people. I'm sure she'd have a much easier life if she just kept her mouth shut yet she refuses to be silenced.

I LOVE 4 Rooms! Kathy was amazing in that movie (and also stars Tim Roth, Madonna, Ione Skye, Antonio Banderas, Bruce Willis, Marisa Tomei, etc.).. It's just a fantastic film.
Iirc, there are 4 different directors involved, including Quentin Tarantino (who makes a cameo) and Robert Rodriguez, and there are 4 different intertwining narratives centered around Tim Roth's character the lone employee on new year's eve at a "luxury" hotel. There are witches, a dead hooker, gangsters, high stakes gambling and devious children. Kathy plays the hotel's manager or assistant manager (?), who takes the night off leaving Tim Roth's character alone during the night shift on new year's eve, as things spin out of his control he repeatedly calls Kathy throughout the night for advice.
It's a very fun watch, even just for Kathy's vignettes.

I think she has a lot to be proud of in terms of the infrastructure she's built in the wake of the photo. She's been in the business for quite some time and the photo created an environment where she was no longer tethered to a standard career model. The interesting aspect is the degree to which her career has evolved; sure, it was a rocky road, but it eventually gave her the ability to create a space for herself that no other comic has really been able to establish. She has international fans and is able to travel to some areas that most American comedians can't because their humor doesn't translate or they aren't recognizable in the mainstream.
The thing is she’s funding her own stuff so she’ll make more from it now good for her and now she owns her whole back catalogue too so I see her becoming very rich in the next few years

I'm so sorry you went through all that Trump persecution. As awful and horrible as it is that you went through this, you are such a strong, powerful woman, it almost had to happen to you because, like you said, it was going to happen to someone. You had the nerve to "stick your neck out" so you were an easy attack.
