I have a great Corey Feldman story, of how he was very protective over me when I was 15 at a hollywood collectors show. This was the late 90’s. My sister was the manager of a hotel they were holding it at. I was asked if I would want to take money for Corey. I was a very naive 15 year old. I wore a probably not very appropriate dress. I went into his hotel room to get him. He was so nice and right if the bat was such a gentleman. Then I spent the weekend taking money for him from the fans that were buying memorabilia. There was going to be a party at one of the celebrities homes ( or hotel idk) to watch Vincent prices House of Wax as one of the stars from that movie was there. Some of the older actors had made inappropriate remarks aboit me, and asking if I was going to this party, was Corey taking me to this party. He told them all no I certainly wasn’t. Corey very nicely said to me basically yoi are a very nice young girl, you don’t have any business going , it will only be trouble for you. Take a look at my life and keep being good, don’t do drugs don’t get into trouble. You are too nice of a person fur all that. Will always love him , a true gentleman honestly. Looking back that weekend could have gone very differently

Oddly enough 2 years later Corey Haim did that same show, and I didn’t help him out but I did go and get pictures with him because my sister still helped run the event. I have that picture! But not any with Corey Feldman and I really had the best time with him ❤️

His bandmates say that no, he doesn't drink. But pills, and powders, he's got them coming out his eyeballs.
Cocaine, opiates, benzos...
They said he is addicted to 4-5 substances... He doesn't pay them, doesn't pay for hotels for them in tour, refuses to hire loaders/unloaders, and forces the girls to do all this work - none of which he helps with - because all his $$$ goes up his nose or down his throat, in pill 💊 form

These human being people keep labeling 'child' have biological need evident in their ability produce sperm. My question is if they are too young to fak then why is their body doing that? Thank you for holding the kind of space for Corey that not many others have been able to hold. For a man who has been publicly pigeonholed and scrutinized for as long as most of your listeners have been alive, both you and Jonathan have built the kind of container that folks like Corey can drop into and be immediately seen as Human (with a capital H), fallible, and lovely, all at the same time. I'm 47 years old and so I had optics into Corey's life on film as he made them, which I loved and enjoyed. As a latch-key kid with the TV constantly on, I would watch all of my favorite movies on cable after school. Through The Lost Boys, Goonies, and License To Drive, Corey felt like the cool older brother that I wish I had. Much later when the gossip mags and media decided that he was irrelevant, I fell into the trappings of letting the media's sinister narrative smudge my views on him - which is a shame because after he courageously came out with his story, it was received by some as a cash grab at fame again. The system failed him tremendously and crippled our ability to see beyond the forced narrative that had been thrust under our noses. If he were our friend or family member, we would have been 100% on his side. As it happens, I actually had the pleasure of sitting next to Corey last year while I was on the job photographing one of his favorite guitarists at the Whisky A Go Go from the balcony. I was too shy to say hello, but I was nonetheless in awe of sitting next to someone who against insurmountable odds, faced many a dark night of the soul and now lives as a beacon of hope for others who have experienced similar traumas. Thanks again, Mayim and Jonathan!

Last year at the age of 49 I finally opened up about my abuse as a child. It started at age 6 and didn't end until I was 16. The physical and mental abuse ended last. Molestation ended a few years before. The crazy part is I had a career as a Soldier of over 15 years. I wanted to protect others in ways I never was. Healing and love to all.

My heart aches for Corey. He didn’t ask to be famous or to be the voice for abused children. Having your name synonymous with such a tragic narrative must be such a tough weight to carry day after day. The fact that he has the strength to keep fighting and be so gracious to others and have such a warm and welcoming heart shows there are beautiful souls in this world. I'm an addict who is in early sobriety and therapy and group therapy and I just released so many tears listening to Corey and it just grabbed my soul and reached my heart deeply because I could relate to so much yet he gave me so much hope that I never had seen before. It was a Godsent that I watched Mayim's podcast today. God bless you guys🙏♥️

I met Corey Feldman at a Starbucks in Oklahoma City and he graciously took a photo with me and my family. I posted it on Facebook with great joy and every year when it pops up on my memories, we celebrate Corey Feldman Day. I don't remember what day it is and I never know when it's coming. It's a joyful surprise every year. Edit: it just happened! June 10th

I've followed Corey for many years being an 80s kid myself, and I obviously don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but this is the most "healthy" he's appeared to be in a very long time - and that honestly makes me feel relieved and grateful. I also really appreciated his views, his spirituality, and as always, his honesty. I hope his life continues on a positive trajectory

It was an absolute crime what happened to him and a lot of other child actors. there was no justice for him none at all. He may have forgiven people but I haven't and it's times like this I really wish the punisher was a real person.
I hate the fact that I enjoyed his work so much back then without knowing what was going on. It feels so exploitative!
Corey is truly a good person to forgive those who hurt him but I definitely never will
I understand the forgiveness perspective and how it frees a person to love others more than I knew was possible, and to allow myself to be loved like I never knew was possible.
The way it started for me was by first forgiving myself. The way I have spoken to myself my entire life has been so abusive. I didn't know how to love myself. The first step was to forgive myself and tell my little child self that she was innocent. And then to change how I speak to myself. Because I deserve better.
After I did that, without even trying...I just suddenly realized that my resentments were dissipating.
To be fair, I was also doing other spiritual things. I've been having a spiritual awakening over the past several years. But I had been very stuck in this. And the very important key steps were forgiving myself so I could start loving myself.

For some reason, whenever I have seen Corey, since a young kid, he's always had this sweet, almost innocent aura about him. His smile, his eyes, have always told a story. It's very sad what they all went through. I understand having to forgive. Forgiveness is really bloody hard! Grief, anger, holding onto grudges.. who does that hurt? Forgiveness isn't for the person or persons that hurt you, it's for your own healing. I have so much respect for him.

I was a 70’s kid and so grew up watching Corey. Well, Corey and Corey ❤. He’s a survivor and has turned out to be a great man and survived the awful childhood and what he had to endure. For those who claim he’s lying; no one comes out with those kind of traumas and wants to be scrutinized by it. He’s been able to tell his truth and bring awareness to it. Education and awareness is what helps others to heal and to help prevent these situations. Adults looking out for children, is a necessity in this world. We have to protect and speak out against the evil; otherwise it won’t stop.
Thing is, he puts more emphasis on Corey Haim's abuse than his own. Nobody seems to see that.
I sympathize with whatever abuse he endured but he keeps that vague. Also, it doesnt help that he never admits that he set Haim up with TWO of his abusers, then claims Haim was a WILLING participant of his own abuse.

Oh my gosh, I was literally thinking about how awesome it would be to have Corey on the show! I was rewatching "The Lost Boys" and thinking about how great he was as a child actor, especially in "Stand By Me", my favorite coming-of-age movie of all time. My favorite parts were definitely you two discussing child stardom at that time, his philosophy to let go of grudges that hurt you rather than the people who hurt you, and the way he raised his son. I'm so excited that he was able to talk about his experiences. Thank you so much!

As a 1982 child, I have to say I did grow up on all Coery's movies. It is so sad what he went through as a child actor. Thank God for him getting sober and him having a chance to have a very healthy family.
I will pray for him continue his life as he has other things left to do on the earth.
As Mayim and colleague were praising Corey for his parenting, I really appreciate how Corey stopped to give his wife half the credit for raising their child together. That was a really sweet little moment.❤

This episode has moved me to tears. Happy ones for him, because after his struggles with drug addiction, alcoholism, beeing abused..even even with all the shadows around him, he’s a SURVIVOR, in caps, so brave to openly expose and learnt to forgive the horrendous child sexual abuse that seems is tragically common in entertainment industry as is sexism and sexual assault against women.
And sad tears for me, remembering not so long ago when in front of the coffin of my brother after his suicide I melted in tears into the deepest and saddest hug of all my life with his childhood’s best friend, a brave man who had lost two brothers because heroin overdose..This episode..Broke my heart. Even after living in Europe, not being his age and barely known Corey before. Somehow this episode has left a very bitter taste and restlessness in me.

Self aware is not exactly how I'd describe him, especially considering his "music career" and recent media appearances. Either he still needs some real friends or still needs some awareness, I do hope he realizes that a person doesn't need the eyes of others for validation(that's not what you get).

I love listening to Corey Feldman. I am in my early 60's and remember those days. I have always admired him for being strong and speaking up. I have always thought he is intelligent and truthful. I think he would be an interesting person to hang with. His words has helped me with my recovery from abuse.
I'm pretty sure Corey and I are the same age, he's been around as far back as my memories go. What he's been through is horrifying and even before his stories came out I always saw sadness in his eyes no matter how charismatic and good he was in his roles. It's impossible to hide trauma
Such a great interview. As a survivor of incest, I’ve spent my lifetime driving myself insane trying to “get it right”. I’ve felt myself as so flawed I have to makeup for everything, including my right to be on this planet. This melted my wall in a way nothing else ever has.

Lovely, absolutely beautiful! "The voice of one crying in the wilderness". Thank you, all 3, for your transparency. Ironic, Myìam and Corey grew up giving in the entertainment industry, healed and turned inward to heal, then turn around and serve us all on a much deeper level. I too suffered severe abuse and grew up choosing, drugs, promiscuity, workaholism, and also battled mental and emotional disorders, not the least of which is PTSD. God has been very kind, and His grace is real. What "manna" from heaven watching your show has been today. I got triggered a bit for sure, but increadibly, subsequently, I became more relaxed and inspired the more you all talked. We all have something to give, and for us survivors those of us who break the silence survive, but then thrive and can help facilitate the healing of others. Thank you for your inspiration, for facilitating my further healing, your encouragement, and your inspiration. I feel less alone having watched. God bless, and much love from northern California.

This is the very first time I’ve ever seen your podcast. Thank you for creating such a great space for Corey Feldman to share his story.
What the industry does to children is absolutely monstrous, and he had enough courage to stand up and expose his own personal story of abuse on the set and in the home. They have been after him for years, and have made his life nightmarish!
When you think about the fact that in one way or another 70% of his friends (peers) from the industry are gone. That’s a very vast number including his best friend Corey Haim.
I’m much older than most, but I’ve seen probably all of his movies. My favorite being Stand By Me followed by The Lost Boys.
Corey Feldman looks happy, healthy, confident and peaceful! May he continue to have peace, love and light!

I have so much respect and admiration for Corey Fledman. He is so courageous and generous of himself for sharing his experience. It is literally life saving to find out that you are not the only one this happened to and that there is another way to go through it than to carry shame and blame yourself and keep it as a secret. When things happen to children, it is so hard to go back later and realize you need to heal that child that it happened to and realize that you didnt have the tools to get healthy about it because that part of you can tend to only be able to view it through the eyes of a child. Often kids who are actively being abused, or were abused as children, will turn to drugs, including alcohol, to either block memories out, or to numb themselves as much as possible to what they are enduring in the now. Some people who are suffering from undiagnosed mental illnesses may self medicate with drugs as well. My mum's bipolar diagnosis didn't come until her late 40's, before this she self medicated with alcohol. She gained her sobriety through hard work, an iron will, and because she wasn't suffering anymore with uncontrollable symptoms that overwhelmed her innate coping skills. So often you will hear that people with addiction issues are childhood abuse survivors, and it's so f♤cking infuriating. Thank-you for sharing your stories Cory. I'm really sorry that you were so badly used and abused by those walking, talking, dung heaps. I'm so very glad that you're still with us, and that you've chosen to make it an intrinsic part of your life to make people aware of what has/is happening to children in this industry. ✌️❄️🇨🇦❄️
One of my favourite episodes so far. I looove seeing Corey thrive and back on the scene on peoples hearts and minds. There’s been a trend lately of quality people from our nostalgic past getting their due here lately after being typecasted by Hollywood and discarded, and the business now giving them a seat at the table after the PUBLIC has made it clear they never left ours and they are absolutely still marketable and desired. Corey is one of those. And I hope Peele is just a first step.
I find it interesting how Corey keeps bringing the conversation back to his traumas. Unprovoked and unprompted. Poor guy has been through alot.
He knows that is what people still want to hear. They want to be able to relate. They want to know (thru his example) they can survive, and thrive. He quite drugs 30 years ago. I wish he talked more about the boring day to day, that it can take to get to healing. Adapting to boring, and less drama, less adrenaline, etc. Is hard for many. That masks the pain. He had to endure and go thru the pain, to get to this other side. How many different therapists did he work with, over the years? He talked about his current projects as well, as all hollywood peeps must do.

I just love Corey Fieldman! We are birthday twins. I enjoyed the podcast so much, I was smiling from ear to ear watching him. How he was talking and what he was saying was so inspiring. He made statements that really open my eyes and made me think. Hearing what he had gone through as a child broke my heart and I’m so happy that he survived and is doing great things. He is such a terrific person.

Hell yes ! Corey Feldman (who I have been a fan since I can remember , I’m 41!)! Is a god damn rockstar in so many senses of the word. He’s a pioneer, with a phenomenal life and story! The world is a better place because of him….I hope he knows this!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

What stood out to me was when he first revealed what happened to him and others there seemed to be a lot of anger (rightfully so) and now there seems to be a peacefulness that surrounds Corey. And let me just give props for raising an amazing son especially because of the trauma that Corey went through. He could have easily continued with generational abuse or become over protective to the point where his child would not have any real life experience yet Corey and I'm sure his wife also found that sweet spot.

Such a big fan of his movies. When my daughter was 4-5, we were buying CDs at a record store in Granada Hills and my daughter excitedly told me the boy from Goonies was right across from us looking through music. I think we both geeked out. Should’ve asked for an autograph but I didn’t want to bother him. I’m sure we lingered in the store longer than we needed to.
I almost skipped this interview, but I’m glad I didn’t. Something about this was so refreshing, touching, and insightful.
I met Corey one time and he was the nicest person. I totally geeked out and probably rude he was so gracious. i had posters all over my childhood walls. I hope the best for him.
Being just a few years older than you both, watching you and being entertained by you both for most of my life, I would just like to say, I'm very glad you're BOTH still here. Some of my best preteen and teen memories!
The Corys were such a staple in my life as a teenager. So many of our generation of actors/actresses went through so much hell. They had to walk through so much trash and we lost too many to the things that plague the industry even to this day. Yea parents and adults are starting to step up more and more but still there is a lot of it happening even now. Mental illnesses are starting to get destigmatized slowly. Thank you Cory for sharing yourself with us for so many years, both on film and in your truth speaking. I have 3 kids, 26, 17, and 11 and so far with my 26 and 17 years olds are doing good. My middle graduated early. My eldest has a loving partner and is living away from home with them. I think I have done a pretty good job with them. I didnt do it perfectly but I did it with the best of my ability and that is all I could ask for.
I’ve always been a fan of his. He is so likable,down to earth, and funny. So sad what he went through in his early life and yet so amazing that he is so composed and well put together and well spoken. I truly enjoy listening to him speak. So many actors on talk shows and during interviews can’t seem to put a sentence together without saying “um” every few seconds which is so annoying. Corey on the other hand is a joy to listen to, though his stories are heartbreaking. Thinking back to all the movies I saw him in, often playing a sassy, bratty little kid it is hard to believe that someone would pick him to attack.
Corey looked like 🔥. How nice. He dressed up for this interview because he wanted to be all business professional and give his best impression. I appreciate it. 🙏 ❤❤❤ 1st time watching this show and now I'm a subscriber. 🎉
I feel like Stand by Me and The Goonies is to those kids what The Sandlot is to us younger kids. Corey is amazing and his career speaks volumes for his abilities to fight through.

Thank you Corey for having the courage to talk about the sick Hollywood "secret" that no one is supposed to talk about. Most people remain silent because they don't want to risk being harassed, threatened and bullied for telling the truth.

This was my first "breakdown" show I watched of your because it was Corey! I love loved him since I was a kid and still love him. Only now I admire his strength and determination to share his story and try to help others that are going though what he went though. Awesome episode. I may be back!

I have always loved, admired, and have supported what Corey has been doing, especially after shining a much needed light on Hollywood and what takes place behind the scenes. Especially, with children and adolescents. I didn't think I could have a higher level of respect for him, until now. Thank you to Mayim and Johnathan for inviting him to the podcast and Thank You to Corey for the beautifully, candid interview. I am really excited to see and listen to more of his projects.
What if everyone in the world could feel like they could reach their highest potential? As a survivor of myself, if I ever meet him, I would tell him, survivor to survivor, that he is seen and that he has value. I’m no celebrity by any means, but I feel like Corey is the kind of guy who is a lot wiser than people give him credit for. I hope he’s doing well and has found his happiness. It was so painful to see him go through that phase were nobody was telling him he had no real musical industry potential but the media used him by displaying him on talk shows to be ridiculed.
