If you look at the trend lines for almost anything in the economy, they were on a positive track throughout the Obama years, and continued through the first three years of the Trump Administration. The best that Trump can claim is that the numbers didn't crater immediately, but he can't point to a single metric that was not already doing well, and he definitely can't specify a policy that drove any positive trend, especially Black Unemployment.

If you look at a 10 year chart of GDP, you find that after Trump took office, the economy simply continued it's up trend from Obama, then starts to go down after Trumps trade war policies, then starts to plunge 2 months before the pandemic started. We were going into recession due to his policies, but the pandemic came along and actually saved Trump because the pandemic covered up the recession that was going to happen anyway. Trump was able to first take credit for Obama's economy, then blame the pandemic for the deep recession.
Trump created a false economy by removing all guard rails , covid exposed that . Trump presided over the greatest job loss in decades, ballooned the debt , no accomplishments, and over 1 million people died because of his poor handling of covid .

Unemployment metrics are skewed. They only count those collecting checks. Once the unemployment time ends the unemployed is not counted in the metrics.

During the early days of the Trump administration before Covid, we had full employment at 33.3% with black unemployment at historically low levels. Even the Wall Street Journal had to report that lower and middle income. Americans were receiving a higher percentage of wage increase that upper-class Americans.
