How clear and simple, and with what a good vibe you expose it. Many years ago I was with my son at the doctor's office because my son was suspected of having a disease that I had. The doctor said, "You gave it to him. The doctor didn't understand, it seemed silly to him, but my son realized it and we left the consultation in peace.

The experiencer of various different feelings seems to be always the same 'steady state' awareness, whilst all the feelings and thoughts change.
"Seems" is the right word.
No one's doing it. If only no one knew that then there'd be no problem. Unfortunately the no one who thinks he's someone doesn't know that. Maybe the no one who thinks he's someone can realise he's no one, but he can't realise that because he's no one. So someone wins. I am someone. I am not a sea anemone.
Yes. You are you and the sea anemone is an entirely different animal, the only point of similarity being that you are both alive and will not always be. But you, just as you are, can understand that you did not create yourself or anything else. "Myself" and all the rest is simply arising, mysteriously and unbidden, and the feeling of being a doer or creator of any of it is a kind of illusion projected onto the fact of self-awareness. That understanding is what one awakens to.
The anemone is playing in a different league and for it, none of these considerations exist or ever could.

You are most welcome, Markus. I have mentioned Zapffe on a few occasions, but not often. He and I share the understanding that much of human culture, and certainly religion, are aimed at insulating oneself from the full knowledge of death. According to Zapffe there were various ways of doing this, and he went into detail.
