Thank you so much for how you showed this unboxing. I had so much trouble trying to feed the sandwich through exactly like you were and was so discouraged and disappointed that I put my exciting new toy away never wanting to use it again. With how you showed your attempts and then repeated seasoning runs I got mine back out, got over the hump and now I love it!!!

Oh I love to hear that . We love our maker maniacs. Once you get past the hurdle you will love the scout. I’m impressed with all that fits on the plates .

I was having issue too. I use microfiber rag I held it on the rollers (top then bottom) while I tuned the handle and it started cutting. Then my husband suggested to put a little dap of degreaser from dollar tree on the rag (not machine) then ran that rag against the rollers while turning handle. That did the trick. The issue these machines are having it that the rollers have a lot of oil so removing some with give it some tooth to grab plates. I took the risk of using degreaser but it was a gift and was planning to return it. However doing this may void your warranty. So start with paper towel first. For me that was not working well so I helped it along with a tiny bit of degreaser on a rag. Good luck😊

I love the concept of this machine! I had to return the lilac Scout..I just couldn’t get the dies to go through the machine. At first Spellbinder kept telling to prime it but it literally was warping my dies and no matter how hard it tried the dies would not go through. I’m going to try the pink Scout! Thank you for sharing! My hands are still sore from trying to push it dies through the machine. I’m really hoping the pink Scout works! But I really love the lilac one but not willing to try this one again!

@@Jam020866 sorry to hear that. Let me know. My white machine is working fine after I seasoned it and I do love it.

I had my Scout all repacked and ready to send back before I watched your video! I was convinced it was defective because we have always been told to never force our plates through our die cut machines! I unboxed it and pushed the plates through first with the embossing folder that came with it and then the dies, as well. I guess now that my machine is “primed” I will be keeping it. Thanks again for clearing up this matter. I feel this unusable procedure should have been included in the instruction booklet instead of the warning to never force the plates through the machine.

I have the same issue with my Scout (Lilac). It worked well at the beginning the first day I got it and then within an hour of cranking stuff through it suddenly just stopped allowing me to push the plates through.

Watching you try to use that was painful. I did not know the machine did not suction to the table. I already received mine from the preorder today. I have not tried them yet. I hope I do not have as much trouble as you did trying to run those dies through.

thank you for your feedback. This was the point of this video. The first few cuts may be tough. But after the machine is "seasoned" it works great. I love it and its been my go to machine whenever I can use it. You should be find once you run a few test cuts. Please let me know

There’s oil on the rollers from the factory- you can wipe it away with a paper towel

Fir the money, they didn't even add suction cups to jeep it from sliding around? Crazy the way it was all over the place. After seeing this, I'm on the fence with this one. Seems like it needs to be a little heavier too. Good video to show issues with it

I'm glad I found this video, it was like watching myself trying to use mine! I was so frustrated and sad to begin with but I am starting to see an improvement so will persevere for a while longer before contacting Spellbinders. Thank you!

My Scout worked perfect right out of the box. It began giving me trouble after about a week. One side was sprung and would not close all the way. After a couple days of not wanting to take the plates, it has worked great.

Well, they gotta make this work and keep working. I have enough headaches in daily living without adding more when crafting.

Sorry but you shouldn’t have to do all that to get a machine to function. Having trouble with my hands and gripping this machine would not work for me. Glad I waited and watched many reviews before purchasing it. It sure is all over the place when not holding it down while cranking it. 😱👎🏻

I wish I had watched this before purchasing mine. I have a ton to make with it and worried about time now
