Interestingly, Tanjore and its surrounding regions have significant historical ties to Maharashtra, including having had a Marathi king in the past. Even today, many Saurashtrians live harmoniously in Tamil Nadu, and the silk sarees produced in Kumbakonam have a Marathi influence. While the people may vote for the political party DMK, their identity as Hindus runs deep in their hearts and souls. For tamils religion is a very private and intimate affair

      Makkale,
For all people reacting, that message is not for general Tamilians. But for all the Tamilians passing through that comment, and which I'm tired of reading on the Web and of listening in the reality and the media. These people who are always "Tamil Paithyam", "Tamil veri purutchu janam". Always tearing online that their language and culture is disrespected and not given it's supposed place in comparison with Sanskrit, Hindi (but not, never English !), and are hard-core fans and viewers of anyone who seems interested in Tamil language, over-reacting positively to these people. But the same who didn't show kind of "cordial respect" for the Tamilians (or not) who are interested in other things than Tamil or are not interested at Tamil at all.
      🙏🙏🙏🙏
P.S : You know, these people thinking that Ancient Tamils (always ancient kingdoms, never those who lived after their fall) conquered the world, that they colonised and civilised South East Asians (whose languages and cultures are offshoot of Tamil, no link with Sanskrit or "Aryans"). These people who think that Tamil is the oldest language in the world, or even the mother of all languages (included that horrible Sanskrit and its bastard far away child Hindi). These same people who believe in Kumari Kandam and keep saying that they are the indigenous people of India, etc.
