  • Step into the world's largest functioning temple, Sri Ranganathaswamy, a marvel of Dravidian architecture that stretches over 156 acres. Built between the 9th and 10th centuries, this grand temple complex features 108 statues depicting various forms of Lord Vishnu, 39 intricately designed mandaps, and 12 sacred water reservoirs. The temple is organized in seven concentric circles, each adding layers of spiritual and architectural significance. Ancient inscriptions grace the walls, along with vivid paintings crafted from natural dyes, making this temple not just a place of worship but a living museum of art and history. #India #temple #tamilnadu #ranganathaswamy #god #hindu #hinduism #hindutemple
    क्या आप जानते हैं भारत का यह मंदिर वेटिकन सिटी से भी बड़ा है। #OMGIndia #OMGSeason9

These temples are not just well consecrated and well maintained places of worship but also great examples of ancient architecture of this land of Akhand Bharath.
These should have been the Wonders of the world, at least much noted places for Indians to visit and be awe of their ancestors.
However, I see the reason being:
Muslim invasions and British colonialism are two things that destroyed our history from outside but Nehru-Gandhi are two things that acted as Indian but inside are submissive to Britain and loyal to Muslims. Good show 👍 The facts that you missed out
    1. It's known as Booloka Vaikuntam which is as same as how Vaikuntam is!
    2. The Great Saint Swami Ramanujar who was a revolutionary saint attained salvation here and his Thaanaana Thirumeni (selfsame body) has been brilliantly preserved for centuries. Rather than chemicals, only sandalwood paste and saffron are used. There needs to be a seperate series about him.. such is his Glory ✨
    3. When Vibheeshana bought Ranganathaswamy from Dasaratha maharaj (whose parampara i.e. Raghuvamsa, did the aradhana for generations)...he haulted in this island bounded by Kaveri river on one side and its distributary Kollidam on the other side for rest.. The lord Ranganathaswamy told him that he will rest here itself facing Lanka and bless him...
    4. A pitiful and striking incident took place. The first-recorded invasion of Srirangam took place in 1311 by Malik Kafur, a commander in Alauddin Khilji's army. While the entire people where helpless, a devadasi named Vellai ammaal influenced the head commander and took him to the top of the Gopuram saying that she'll show him where the treasure is... While they reached the top, she pushed him to death and she also bravely jumped down and sacrificed her life... The people filled with rage, fought back the Mughals and sent them back to birjapur! From then, after many many centuries till now that particular Gopuram is named after Vellai Ammaal and this gopuram alone is painted in white (Vellai meaning white) while all other Gopurams are colourfully painted...

Let me correct Shri Ranganath swami is not the avatar of God vishnu but he is another form of Vishnu. The legend goes like after Shri Ram Killed Ravana and was returning back to Ayodhya, Vibhishana also started accompanying Shri Ram to ayodhya but Shri Ram told Vibhishana that now you are the king of lanka so its your duty to be here and take care of your kingdom. But Vibhishana requested shri Ram that he wants to be in his lotus feet for life. So Prabhu Ram told Vibhishana that we Ichchwaku lineage worshiping sri Ranganathsawmi since various generation and asked him to worship him and make a temple for Sri Ranganathswami. Since Vibhishana was one of the Chiranjeevi it is beleived that he still comes to this temple daily to worship shri Ranganathswami. Hope this helps.

Ya we are proud of our centuries old temples, its importance and its marvelous architecture . But we dont mind ruining it for no sake.
Recently i visited kala hasti temle. The temple is stunning in its own way. But shameful as statues were used to tie ropes, shapes were distroyed due to steel baricades , small small settlements right next to the temple which all make the beauty bleed. Even in this video we can see many instances.
These show the negligence of our own people towards our temples (or anything ). People have forgotten the pure intention of temples and started believing in just bargaining to the idol.

India dint have horses ..cholas loved horses and camels for Rocky lands (same as vijayanagara who even had a Arabs musketeers contingent),Arabs loved Asian elephants who are easier to tame ..ur talking about people who trades with julius Caesar..what's arabia then😂

Poigai Alwar was on 6-7th CE.
4200 BCE was a belief not the truth. because His tamil has mixed Sanskrit words in it. Sanskrit mixed tamil was not used during Sangam literature period.
So its better you stop telling utter nonsense
