Agreed. I believe in what Arin's arguing for (though I see why it shouldn't count in the game) - I doubt at any point anyone told him about the functional "lie" that we all say where black and white don't count as colors. There's some good reasoning behind why we don't call them colors despite their existence, but I believe (sorry Arin if you're reading, I do have to make an assumption somewhere but it's no judgment!) that Arin didn't learn from other peoples' definitions: I think he just made conclusions from what he had to do in his solo work, and thus, his definition of the word "color" DOES include black and white. And I can at least guess at this from experience: I made the same mistake but a good teacher brought up the "lie," and was kind enough to explain from my perspective why it's a lie in the first place: The societal usage of the word "color" is related to the Color Spectrum. Black and white don't exist "physically" like the rest of the colors, they exist as totalities or absence of color. When pure white light exists, it's "pure light," yet to be split into anything different so it's not on the Color Spectrum. So in painting, "lightness" is thought to be a better word than "colorful" for white, as the saturation of "white" is really just how "bright" things seem to the human eye. And thus, artists will see either see a white canvas in front of them or no canvas at all when they begin their work. Another good way to investigate is observing how colored paints can influence black and white by 'adding' color (note that none this isn't a very scientific explanation, just trying to avoid reading the wiki entry on pigments again). Anyway, hilarious Dan saw this coming ten miles away. He is a wise god we barely understand.
It annoyed me to no end. I’m an artist (like Arin), but a traditional one. I literally only ever refer to “bright colours” when they’re vibrant and would look like they could fit in the rainbow. Pretty much what you see in your average kids commercial. For “how close to white” I’d use terms like “light/pale/bleak/low pigment colours.” Calling a monochrome plunger bright should at the VERY LEAST beg for a clarification. Because he clearly believed no other interpretation could be valid here. “Did you mean bright like rainbow colours or white/painful to the eyes bright?” Arin is technically right and should just drink his ketchup smoothies with his fruity tomatoes because it frustrates me to see someone so confidently obtuse.

9:12 Arin is 100% right and it’s obvious that he had been answering from the perspective of an artist. A lot of people mix up brightness and saturation. Brightness is determined by how much white is in a color like arin said, meaning that the brightest colors often are relatively pale since white tends to desaturate colors when added to them. Saturation on the other hand is how close the color is to the primary version of itself vs. how grayed it is. I kinda felt bad for Arin since he was right but nobody believed him 😂
@@grahamreece519 the terms brightness and lightness are used interchangeably in the art world. While it’s true that depending on context they can occasionally have different connotations, neither of them are used to mean saturation, so either way Arin was still right. Just because the items were desaturated doesn’t mean that they weren’t bright or light, whichever term you prefer.
@@grahamreece519 that’s mostly because when you talk about the subject of “brightness”, you typically don’t refer to the colors by the name “bright red”. Not because that is incorrect, but because that’s just how we were told to say it since we were little kids, likely because the term “highly saturated red” doesn’t roll of the tongue so people defaulted to a word that’s more commonly used in the English language, even though that word was wrong. They probably didn’t realize that word was incorrect and thought it was fine. Like I was saying in my original comment, most people get brightness and saturation confused, which is why hearing the term “bright red” gets people confused as to what it means. I’m not saying Danny and Ally were wrong for being confused about the difference, since it’s not really their faults since they were probably taught that a color being bright meant that it was blinding or overly saturated their whole lives. This is also why you likely have never heard anyone say “bright red” because most people don’t say that because most people 1. Don’t know that it’s incorrect and 2. Even if they do know it’s wrong would rather say “bright” instead of “overly saturated” because it’s just easier. However, like I said, Arin, being an artist, was likely answering from an artists perspective. And in art, we have the 3 major aspects of any color which we call HSB or Hue (what color it is meaning like blue, red, red-orange), saturation (the relative gray value of the color) and finally brightness (how much white or black is in the color). I apologize if you’re an artist and already know this, I just felt I needed to explain it to prove my point. So while I don’t blame Danny and Ally, Arin was still right.
1: I knew exactly what Arin was going for when he asked if the character was Italian and I was a little upset that Dan took it so literally lol 2. When Dan asked if the object had bright colors, I paused, stared at the image, and struggled to decide whether I would've said yes or no. I ultimately decided yes for the same reasons Arin later described what makes white "bright", but it was a difficult question to me being more into writing/ words than drawing/ colors.
Basing color on the color wheel which black and white are never part of, that's an easy no. Black and white are based on saturation or lack there of. From a scientific point light is every color compressed and then reflected back into our eyes making it not a color as it's not specific and black is the lack of light which also isn't a color but lack of it aka still a no.
I'm not sure why, but the confusion around Yoshi's gender really cracked me up. Maybe because I also love Yoshi, so I just enjoyed..... _that individual_ for getting screen time.
“White is the brightest color!” Arin, as a fellow artist, you’re an ARTIST Edit: To the people in my comments: bright colors are vibrant and usually very saturated, just not dark. They can have white added to them, but they’re never pale-pale colors are not “bright”, they’re dull. I’ve also never heard an artist claim that pure white is a color, but that’s just an opinion thing. It doesn’t seem to be a common opinion, but I can understand why people would want to argue that it is
Round 2: Dan doesn't want to argue about warm/cool colors cuz then they'll get into an argument of colors. Round 3: both argue about colors Wow, Dan really does have Hiro's predictability

So while I don’t blame Danny and Ally, Arin was still right.

people who watched in space with markiplier "OMFGOOOOD THE LOOOOOOORE!!!"
"Has this person ever been president before?"
Arin: *Looks at Jamie Lee Curtis*
*Long thought*
... No.
*"I'm gonna pre" in the distance*
I’m so glad they used the clip of dan trying to erase the fact that he thought he had to deal with mamas Ragu for 100+ hours
I can’t believe Danny just denied Sayaka’s clearly Italian heritage.
Sad mama’s ragu noises*
I would have loved to see "subjective questions only" for a fictional characters only round.
Dan: Politely declines a question to avoid an argument about color palettes.
Arin: *Makes an argument about color palettes anyway*
12:20: Arin: “This one’s a Bottom…”
Dan: 👁👄👁
i love what shroomba looks like and dan trying to choose whether it would be submissive.
The picture of Arin and Suzy hugging in that opening is so heartwarming it goes so well with the tune 😭
That is also my favorite.
I’m with arin on sayaka. This is clearly based on their game grumps universe not the actual universe and in game grumps universe sayaka is Italian.
I love that Danny’s first question is always about a specific item. Quite possibly the worst way to start
Arin: "you have a camera Dan"
Stop, Arin. That's how you film the pornography.
Why is it that whenever Dan said, 'You bet your sweet bippy.' , my heart felt so warm...?
1: I knew exactly what Arin was going for when he asked if the character was Italian and I was a little upset that Dan took it so literally lol
2. When Dan asked if the object had bright colors, I paused, stared at the image, and struggled to decide whether I would've said yes or no. I ultimately decided yes for the same reasons Arin later described what makes white "bright", but it was a difficult question to me being more into writing/ words than drawing/ colors.
White is bright
I always followed that white is a shade so that would have been envalidated
@@co2_os And not commonly known to be a colour.
@@skyblue2708 -"what color is your car?"
-"White"
It's a color in my book.
I'm not sure why, but the confusion around Yoshi's gender really cracked me up. Maybe because I also love Yoshi, so I just enjoyed..... _that individual_ for getting screen time.
The thing that got me was that frisk was left up for female when they’re non binary 😅
playing games with friends always tests the strength of your friendship 😂
CZcams? What are you doing here?
Are you here to monitor for swearing?
CZcams, come get whoever this is
how come when i click on your icon it says “joined 52 years ago”
So is Sayaka Italian or not?
I come back to this often when I need a laugh. The editing is on point.
“White is the brightest color!”
Arin, as a fellow artist, you’re an ARTIST
Edit: To the people in my comments: bright colors are vibrant and usually very saturated, just not dark. They can have white added to them, but they’re never pale-pale colors are not “bright”, they’re dull. I’ve also never heard an artist claim that pure white is a color, but that’s just an opinion thing. It doesn’t seem to be a common opinion, but I can understand why people would want to argue that it is
If black is the lack of color and it's darkness. Therefore white must be all the colors, brightness.
To be fair, that was an appearance based question...
If white is not a bright color why do people use dark themes???
eh, it's complicated.
White isn't a color, it's a shade
The editors woke up and decided to craft absolute magic for this one, didn't they?
Arin’s so lovable here I can see how Harley didn’t go balls to the wall on him in the ring. I don’t think anyone could have the conscience to
It was like a marshmallow attacking a lumberjack... _It was beautiful_
Round 2: Dan doesn't want to argue about warm/cool colors cuz then they'll get into an argument of colors.
Round 3: both argue about colors
Wow, Dan really does have Hiro's predictability
"No questions about appearance"
Dan: "did it have a bright color"
I love Arin's use of the word "Newfangled"
I'm pretty sure it's two words, newf and angled 🫤
Arin has a hard time seeing Newly Fan Glued things.
Because glue is made with bright colors.
12:23 i love how disappointed, surprised and also mildly enraged Dan looks..
all at the same time
i love what shroomba looks like and dan trying to choose whether it would be submissive.
I've not thought about Guess Who since Primary School. It almost feels like a different life.
I read this in a British accent
Lmfao at Dan saying “You piece of shit” during the bright colors argument 🤣
Dan's date when Arin says "This is a bottom" kills me every time 😂😂
I'm happy that there is Danganronpa representation is in the Grumpsverse.
I have to take this opportunity to congratulate Arin on that excellent fight this weekend. As a first outing against a larger opponent, that was one of the best opening rounds I've ever seen. Our boi's got talent!
Hey just want to say, Arin, You are one of the bravest people I know. That Creator clash fight was so against you and you came in and stuck it out. That’s so much character bro!
I can't believe he pulled back his punch at the end of round 1 too..
You guys gotta play that first Grump Who again, there’s just so much potential!😂
Thanks for waking up my soundly sleeping cat @1:25
I've missed 10MPH so much, so glad it's back
ye 10 miles per hour
10 hour power mile
Arin projectile spitting the blue jello at 1:06 was something i did not suspect but also something i was not surprised by
The whole "shes italian!" thing... Arin could have just asked if her hair was black and won the game.
It's sorta blue-ish tho
Congrats, your comment got stolen by a bot xD.
Not that you'll see this comment. I am the ghost of CZcams.
Her hair is blue.
@@lulusobel8643 I guess my screen is too dark. Youre right.
according to arin's logic, if white is a bright color, then blue hair is basically black 😂

"Guess Who?" More like "Guess I'll Die Then."
"No questions about appearance"
Dan: "does it have a bright color?"
