Great video. We just ordered same rack. Our fifth wheel has a fiberglass cap on the back. I’m a little concerned if we will have enough room also. Our rig is 43 feet long so I’m not wanting to extend the hitch length anymore. I may just get my grinder ready. lol. I think I can speak for the majority of the RV community and say THANKS for making these videos. Safe travels 👍👍

That bike is a step through frame. A frame adjustable telescopic bicycle cross bar would've of prevented you from having to do any cutting on your rack. I've seen these cross bars as cheap as $12 on ebay. The bar hooks onto the neck of the handlebar to the seat post. The bar gives you a platform for the clamp to clamp onto. I'm surprised Hollywood Racks didn't tell you this because they sell their own version of these. Instead of pitching a $120 addon accessory. I can say that the rack is built well and for the 2 years I've own it, it's transported both my ebikes with no problems!

Thanks for your comment! I know about the adjustable cross bars your mention, but it would not have changed the center line of the bike and allowed the clamp to fit on the bike. The shorter clamp now fits on the step through bar. We like how sturdy the rack is and it works well, but some different design choice would have made it better.

Great solution for the clearance of the handle bars! You must be an engineer! :-)

Great idea on how to rework the bike rack so it works better! Hope it works well carrying both of your e-bikes!

I thought the clamps go on the seat post as well.

We used the extenders and we clamp the post to our seat posts.

A 5mm allen wrench and turn the bars. simple.

Thanks for your comment. We did turn the bars the for a while. Then we fixed the rack so we would not need to adjust the bars every time we loaded or unloaded the bikes. In my opinion, the bars should not need to be adjusted to load bikes.

Aren’t the longer extensions for clamping to the seat post?

We don’t know. We saw nothing in the manual where it talked about clamping to the seat post.

Just loosen the 2 screws on the handle bar and turn it, worked great for me, no mods needed

We did that for a while and didn’t want to keep turning the handle bars. Our set up now works well

I hate buying something and then having to fix it so it work the way it should have been.

Could you not attach it to the seat post?
