Do you agree with Mercedes-Benz's CEO Ola Källenius that they will not transition to EV-only sales by 2030? While EVs are typically championed for their purported zero-emission status, we uncover the complexities behind this claim. Our investigation extends beyond the manufacturing process, delving into lesser-known factors such as emissions from tires, batteries, and plastics. Surprisingly, components utilized in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as plastics and faux leather, are produced using propane and methane, contributing to the overall environmental footprint.Unlike traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, EVs, including those from Mercedes-Benz, have not undergone rigorous emissions testing under controlled conditions. We propose a comprehensive testing regimen that simulates real-world usage scenarios, including extended periods of operation and charging cycles. Such tests would provide insights into the true environmental impact of Mercedes-Benz EVs, including emissions from electric motors and battery reactions.

Our infrastructure is not ready yet. We also need CLEAN power. Mostly coal burning and nuclear power available.

Totally agree, we need to step up our game on clean power and infrastructure!

I wish people weren't so damn scared of nuclear. It's our best source right now. With very little waste. There will always be waste but it's the least out of the most popular options right now

@@sniper4690 I know, the people at Chernobyl don't even need the power anymore there it's so clean!

@@jeremydallen 💀 I get where you’re coming from but Chernobyl being used as the excuse to not get more nuclear is so overused at this point. When complacency happen, accidents take place. It’s not perfect but compared to every other “green” energy it’s still our best bet until thorium or other reactors come online. Ignoring it and pushing nuclear off will just drive us to rely on worse methods

At best EVs is a niche. It's not for everyone..

      Are you sure

@@velocityformula , if it was for everyone then there would not be a slow down in production. Also govt needs to make it attractive so they have incentives like rebates of $7,500.00. If they were in such a demand you would not need the incentive...heller

They're making shit EVs and they're blaming the technology itself for their own failures. Expect Mercedes Benz to be bankrupt within the next decade.
