Needed two months to mourn the lost of his favorite sweets boy L.
Had to let that death sink in before we got back into things!
@@overanalyzinganime understandable
@@overanalyzinganime next one when??
That was a strange comment. Wtf?
@@overanalyzinganimeI guess you can say L went into the LIGHT
i’m sorry
Imagine basically getting handed magical death god powers with an invisible death god companion while rolling nat 20s on all your charisma checks and still getting your shit pushed in by a dude who hates wearing shoes.
oh shit, I'm fucking dying at this comment. 😭😂
This should history books for best comment
Socrates moment
The way you speak actively disgusts me.
L's intelligence is contingent on the fact that he had to be more intelligent; the odds were stacked against him. This placed, in my view, a burden on his character because he had to display a very unusual and outlandish intellect. Light was a 17 year old with a God complex who also had to deal with Misa as a liability; he wasn't in a purely advantageous position. L, on the other hand, was a 25 year old experienced detective, which, of course, is a massive way of understating things.
I think the creators did a good job in balancing out the characters' advantages and disadvantages in service of a fast-paced, gripping, and, more specifically, convincing plot all the way through. I am saying all of this because I think there is a pretty major level of delusion that stems from bias which characterizes most Death Note fans' perception of Light relative to L. Yes, L was more intelligent, and Light had many supernatural advantages, but, once again, I think everything in the series was carefully and fairly selected to maximize believability and excitement, and the longstanding cultural impact of the show is a testament to this.
Also, I think there's significant textual evidence that points to Light having more potential than L since, unlike L, Light wasn't groomed to be a successful genius. (Adding this two weeks after leaving this comment because it's been a while since I've seen/read the series, and I just remembered this.)
The way Light gets "lucky" is due to how Death Note didn't have an outline. So week to week the author would put Light in impossible situations and then wreck his brain on how to get him out. It's crazy, but it worked.
Authors writing without an outline is not that uncommon. But this approach of throwing your protagonist into a hopeless situation without knowing how he'll get out when you're writing a weekly series, that's freaking insane.
That's probably also why there's some weird inconsistencies, as discussed in this essay with Watari having deleted everything in one episode, then Light retrieving that same information in another.
@@mistingwolfYeah or how Ryuk claimed to be neutral but helped on occasion.
So, in a way, Light was mitigating misfortune, and that spiked the effectiveness of his luck.
Honestly that’s when some of the coolest moments in a story happen. Take Super Saiyan for example, Toriyama had written himself into a corner as well and it led to that
@@Yodah97 i always thought ryuk just didn't give a fuck about being consistent if it meant something fun happens
So my favorite thing about Light becoming L is this is actually the moment Light caught himself in a noose. In theory no one would challenge L however there was only 1 person who continuously challenged L; that being Kira. If someone knew L died then it automatically would be believed to be Kira. But if the next L after some time couldn’t make any progress after some time then it be obvious that the new L is either helping or is Kira.
Basically L played 5D chess with his own life to put Light in a catch 24
Yes to this! I'm actually discussing this exact thing in my video for Episode 28!
Not really. Light isn’t L so it would naturally make sense for him not to able to make progress. After a while Light could easily just convince them to concede to Kira. This doesn’t happen because of near and mello of course but it really doesn’t go that deep
@@LightYagami-ik1cgyeah but it’s already been proven that Light is smart enough to make progress seeing as he was the one who lead the yotsuba investigation which Near and Melo would’ve been informed about.
@@jojoa694 Actually, Near and Mello barely had public statements to work off of. The reason why even as-is they have an educated guess of the 2nd L being Kira is because of how much more active Kira was in the time skip while 2nd L has far less success in 5 years than the first L managed in 1. Near started becoming more sure after the raid because of Kira showing suspicious favoritism toward the Japanese TF.
The plan was ''to play it safe'' until the police was forced to back out from the investigation by the government and everyone capitulated to Kira. It didn't matter if the investigation hit a dead end; Light was only buying time.
I feel like That is the strengths of L Lawliett and Light Yagami.
L is a more straightforward detective, but he’s so far beyond the level of a Normal detective, he can put patterns and evidence together in a way most can’t.
Light’s strength however, comes from being an absolute wild card. Light does indeed have a lot of luck thrust his way, thanks to him evening having the Death Note in the first place. But he also doesn’t squander that luck; he takes full advantage of it and plays up events in such a way that even if you know it’s Kira, you don’t how.
Essentially, while L’s strength lies in being able to track down every bread crumb trail, Light’s strength lies in being able to shape that trail however he likes since he effectively controls the rules of the game; while L controls how he tackles it.
27:50 I've seen people make hilarious edits where you hear his muffled egomaniac speeches with the mom and sister downstairs looking concerned
20:38 the data that L left was only to be read after his death and was probably kept separately from the database that watari had. It's like a personal log isolated from the easy access info
ah, that makes sense! nice call out. I could see that being something that was kept separate now that you've pointed it out.
I always thought that the Personal Log was deleting itself, not Light. And it being one final reminder to whoever was listening of what he accomplished. Be remembered by memory not by fact.
my head cannon was it was all data related to his successors, and all his other fail safes.
22:24 The way its framed in the manga at least it seems more like the Task Force is just not playing the same 4D chess L and Light were between each other. So Matsuda and the others took L's words as sincere.
Something I never understood was this :
When light starts killing everybody, specifically the people who are affiliated with L, why did that not raise any flags within the task force?
When it came to Wedy and aiber, the only people that have really interacted with them were the task force, and suddenly, after interfering with the kira case they mysteriously turn up dead? It’s just one of the many incidences that highlight just how inherently incompetent the task force is
I may as well provide a timeline of when the deaths happened in the manga:
11/5/2004 - L Lawliet, Quillish "Watari" Wammy, and Rem
1/10/2005 - Merrie "Wedy" Kenwood
4/7/2005 - Tierry "Aiber" Morello
4/10/2005 - Eiichi Takahashi, Takeshi Ooi, Shingo Mido, Reiji Namikawa, Suguru Shimura, and Masahiko Kida
.....okay, so killing the Yotsuba survivors only a few days after killing Aiber was still sketchy on Light and Misa's part. I do want to clarify that there was some spacing between the deaths, though it could have stood to be better, but the time skip happening at all would still have explained a lot.
What I will say is that there's still the matter of the 13 Day Rule. It was from a "reliable" source regardless, so Light and Misa being alive after not writing any names for at minimum 50 days straight from incarceration was "proving" them to not have been the Kira and 2nd Kira respectively. Of course, you are providing a point that it screams plot armor for them, but let's be fair: without the 13 Day Rule, Light and Misa were going to get caught irreparably with too much evidence against both of them. I think it would be worth discussion at any rate.
easy lie for him to use.
"the shinigami did it"
While the cinematography may not directly imply it I always took it as sort of a given that things like the killing of the Yotsuba members and other people who would more implicate someone on the Task Force was done slowly over the course of the five year timeskip.
Also on the subject of how the two of them cleaned themselves while handcuffed together, I don't know about Light but L canonically bathes by jumping in a washing machine so he probably just got a top loader.
okay, so I lowkey kinda hate you for the second half of your comment because I deadass went looking for proof of what you said. lmao. I feel stupid now.
also, that would make more sense in my opinion, but, like you said, the cinematography just doesn't match up with that since they all died in front of each other; like namikawa literally died in shimura's arms. -- but, I will say that the ReLight movie does make it play out like you said; with each of them dying in different ways (suicide, car accident, etc.)
@@overanalyzinganimelol he’s being serious about the bathing machine. I forget where I saw it before, I think it may be an author’s note, but it’s true that he has essentially a converted washing machine to bath in
@@Christos2130 No way! I need to find proof of this now. I wonder how that works. And why he does it instead of just taking a bath...
In my head-canon, Watari did not erase anything. He sent it to Near and left a decoy for Light.
Well, this is a pretty big plot hole. Some how near and mello know about the notebook but not about light and his past history as a suspect. They know about the taskforce but not much more than their names.
It’s oddly vague.
@Strichea
In the anime, most of the things these two know have a vague source. I watched some of the Near Saga's episodes by order, and I have no idea how they knew half of what they knew.
For example, Near was told that there was a fake rule in the Death Note, but he magically knew all the rules by the next episode, even though no one told them what they were and he never touched a Death Note at the time.
L's demise still hurts.
that's fair - he was a staple of the show from basically the very beginning.
im actually surprised to see you didnt include your thoughts on L's funeral! one of the most iconic scenes in the entire series, where it shows just how Light became such a crazed maniac. (though it was from a recap film i believe)
The scene was cut from the anime in favour of the rooftop scene I'VE HEARD, but yeah think it was used in the Relight movies instead. It is iconic
@@DimitrishuterI saw it as an OVA, I was really hoping he'd cover it too since not a lot of people know about it, I'm not even sure if it was ever dubbed

THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT HOW LUCKY LIGHT HAS BEEN!!! I can NOT stress much I hate that a lot of fans will either deny or straight up ignore the fact that Light has been extremely lucky has been throughout the series.
This is in no way, discrediting how smart Light. He is very smart and has been able to get out of tricky situations on the spot. Which I gave him full credit for. However I hate that fans will ignore how lucky Light is while completely shitting on other characters when they get lucky (COUGHCOUGH NEAR COUGHCOUGH)
Anyways, thank you again for pointing that. That’s something that needs to be called out more
I'm glad you emphasized how lucky Light got in order to beat L, but it doesn't get said enough that Light had a humongous advantage the whole time, just by virtue of having a book that allows you to kill from a distance AND control the victim's actions before death, AND he could convince Ryuk to do things for him that no human could. Like, L was still beating Light in the beginning despite all of this, and despite all of these advantages Light was still only able to stalemate L for months on end. Seriously, L was way more capable than Light the whole time, but dawg got cheesed
Near's whole "winning and losing the game" mentality is so cringe. That's definitely not the mentality to have towards life. L DID achieve a lot. And it DID count for something.
Tell that to US, the whole's country philosophy is about winners and losers lmao
You do realize L shares the same mindset
@@ricardomiles2957USA? You mean every nation on this planet.
@@Leonard_Wolf_2056 US has the particularity of being overly open and childish about it. Like Near
I like how socially smart both L and Light are, however it’s kinda funny easily L could’ve won if he chose a more typical approach.
For instance, he could’ve checked the Death Note for finger prints which would absolutely be enough to convict Light.

Hope you're doing ok buddy, been loving these episodes.. it's a real treat when I see you've dropped the latest installment. Be well and will keep checking in
Hey, thanks for checking in! It’s been a rough past few weeks, I’m not gonna lie. Lay-offs were announced at work and it had me really stressed and worried about what I’d do if I lost my job; especially with my wife getting laid off last year before we had the baby. I'm gonna ask when we get to it. When Nier comes into play and they do the scene with all the TVs and find out the prosecutor is the second Kira. Please, please, please bring in the manga to highlight how the Anime dropped Nier's monologue that justified how he came to that conclusion.
The anime really did Near and Mello wrong. Several manga scenes of them doing things to get closer to their goals were cut.
I remember rewatching that scene and had a Mandela moment where I remember there being an actual monologue. It was really disappointing that they didn’t bother adapting it properly.
@@fabiopassos5607wasn’t there a third character that helped them out? I recall a scene where a kid was gunned down by the police.
Matt.
i still find it hard to believe that a hostage situation with (if i recall correctly) a school isnt national news...
Light being told he was being followed actually caused him more problems because the agent didn't find anything.
Honestly I think Light staring at the computer, that face he has is him coming down from his high and reading everything L found out when starting with almost thing. I like to think that this is Light realizing how much of an unfair advantage he had and how he only got away with everything he did by chance alone, that after everything he did L came out as even more impressive than him since everything L did he did based on the information Light left behind that none of the things he did or figured out came to him by random chance or mere luck, but by diligence and observation. I like to see this as Light admitting that, in the end, he basically cheated to win by having someone else do his job for him and by having completely random advantages dropped in his lap, that right than right there Light saw L as his superior for making leaps and bounds in his case and finding him out so easily and the only reason he couldn’t being that he wanted a total victory that L didn’t just want to win but have it be irrefutable.
L's name would be properly pronounced as L Law-light, actually. (looking at how his name is spelled in japanese)
Which is certainly an interesting decision that they made his last name include Light's name within it.
I noticed that too, it absolutely seems intentional, they’re even pronounced the same way in Japanese.
not sure if anyone has pointed this out but I love the way you use the characters talking in the clips to line up with your voice lmao
43:14 "at an unprecedented rate" could possibly mean on a consistent basis. The first few days he filled like, at least 5 pages. Maybe they meant Kira is killing that many people on a daily basis.
I’ve recently binged the entire anime and i’m glad you mention the absolute luck on Lights side. He even says during the Naomi episode “It seems i may really have a God on my side, and not just a god of death.”
A hidden Easter egg/nod that I noticed is that at the final episode (37) when it shows Light running away after getting shot, there are water towers labeled "27, 26, 25..." with Light running towards the lower numbers. I see that as a subtle way to portray Light's regret and desire to go back to how things were in episodes before episode 26. It just cannot be a coincidence as the animation studio must have chosen those numbers for a reason.
Im going to give a quick rebuttal to the light is lucky bit because i feel is discredits light (even though that isn't your intent)
1. Raye Penber, even if ryuk didn't tell light he wasbeing followed, there is nothing to suggest that raye would find light suspicious otherwise, as raye doesnt know how kira powers work, even if he saw light write in the death note he wouldnt class that as suspicious because he would have no reason to link it. In fact Raye's death is what links L more onto Light.
2. Naomi Misora, while i agree that Light was lucky in meeting her, he still has to play on her emotions in order to get her real name. And as shown she almost didn't fall for it.
3. The cameras
Before light even told ryuk to find the cameras and wiretaps, he already knew about them. And L said that Light wouldn't be caught be this and would play it off perfectly.
4. Rem and Misa.
While it is true luck was on his side that he met rem and misa who would kill L for him, it was also proven to be a double edged sword as misa was so infatuated with light that it causes L to put suspicion on her which in turn makes Light have to reveal the notebook.
5. Lights dad. I woudlnt necessarily call this luck as any loving dad would refuse until it is shown right in their face that their son was kira.
6. The rules. I also wouldn't call this luck as ryuk is neutral, he didn't know what light would use the rules for nor does he care, and light chose these specifc rules to not only make L disprove them to make rem kill L or Misa dies essentially holding her hostage, but also to (i may be wrong on this) but to keep higuchi killing until both him and L gets the notebook back.
There’s so much about death note that’s ridiculous like the potato chip scene, and the Death Conductor scene… but in the moment it feels triumphant. Which I love all of it.
I have my interpretation of how the "data deletio/recovery" thing makes sense:
When Watari dies, he deletes everything, but after the funeral, the Task Force set out to try to salvage whatever data they can recover from the computers so that the world doesn't realize that L is dead, we know Light is an expert in hacking so he tells them that he will attempt to recover all that Watari deleted, he partially succeeds and gets some of the lost data, as well as the systems that L and Watari used to communicate with the ICPO and other agencies, basically the bare essentials of what L had.
However, since he's Kira, he deletes any information that L had that would be useful in uncovering his real identity (L's records of the investigation would qualify), so Light is not deleting everything in that scene, just the incriminating evidence, making it seem like those were unable to be recovered.
This would explain all the apparent inconsistencies, and also explain why Light doesn't know about the Wammy's House or the successor program, as that information was unable to be recovered from Watari's deletion, thus making Watari's last act meaningful.
I mean to defend killing the Youtseba group, they wouldn’t have found it sus because they knew Kira was in kahoots with them. So they would just assume Kira is tying loose ends. Right?
I was under the impression Light killed the Yotsuba group exactly 13 days after Higuchi died in-order to provide proof of the 13 day rule. Not sure if that's the case but makes the most sense to me. All he'd have to do than is suggest Higuchi was controlling them by forcing them all to write at least one name every 13 days. If Light suggested that, there would be no way to prove that isn't the case and them all dying at the same time would seem to provide evidence that idea is correct.
The "deleting the information" was a security precaution and intentionally misleading. L clearly had back ups of the information, it would explain Near and Mellow's ability to know more than one could deduce just from non specific information. They had to know more.
But if you set it up to delete the data locally, while it's been otherwise remotely backed up some where, you're defending against the death notes ability to control some one's actions before they die, if they're instructed to delete information, then they would delete this local copy without access to a remote site, they couldn't delete the back up, and also it's a precaution of the person before death using that information, or even a failure to comply with the conditions of death stated by writing instructions the person can't actually physically accomplish (deleting remote data they don't have access to) and they would just die of a heart attack, partial conditions don't work, it's an all or nothing kind of thing.
Proof, one of the criminals were supposed to write something on the wall that they couldn't know earlier on, and that was partially possible but they didn't attempt to write anything they simply died of a heart attack.
So honestly, having the order to delete that information while there is a remote back up that is inaccessible to a specific person, gets around so many possible ways the death note could be used, while protecting that information. You could even have this type of nested security within your own network, it doesn't have be completely remote, just not accessible to an individual, ie: L could still have access to other files, that Watari didn't have access to, and vice versa. L too smart to not think of this, so I"m just going to head canon it in.
4:48 I totally hear what you're saying and I can agree to an extent but it's important to note that Ryuzaki has been just as lucky, if not more so, than Light has been.
A few examples. Light just happened to be watching TV at the time he had Lind L Taylor assume his identity, had Light just been doing homework or eating dinner or writing names in the notebook or literally anything else then the task force would never have caught him because they wouldn't have had a clue where he was. He just happened to already know Naomi before she went missing and knew her well enough to conclude that Kira must have killed her despite there being plenty of other reasonable explanations. Misa showing up was honestly more of a determent to Light than anything so that just happened to work out in Ryuzakis favor (yes this ultimately led to his death but he likely would have died MUCH sooner if they never showed up).
There's more but the point is that Light didn't just get by due to luck and happenstance. If Light wasn't on Ryuzakis level of intelligence he would have been caught a long time ago.
Also I don't want to sound insulting because your videos are great but I have to assume you don't know what a Deus Ex Machina is. A Deus Ex Machina is a previously unexplained, sudden solution to a character(s) problem that was never properly introduced or even hinted at before. Rem, by definition, does not fit that bill. You definitely seem to favor Ryuzaki over Light and that's cool, we all have our favorite characters but trying to downplay Light to make Ryuzaki look better is silly at best and disingenuous at worst.
you know what... you're right. I didn't even really think of it like that, to be honest. you have very valid points - there's luck on both sides when you think about it.
@@overanalyzinganimeVery true. Just felt the need to stick up for Light a bit since I can tell you really like Ryuzaki and likely favor him over Light and that's totally fine we all have our favorites after all.
Except not really, L reveal that Light was doing killings at a periodic time so he pretty much could figure out the timing from there and the broadcast could have stayed on for an hour before light took action as he also say he was going to cast the broadcast in not only other area in japan later.
As for Naomi, that isn’t really luck; it’s said that him and Naomi have already been on a few cases together even to some extent consider her a friend or something close to one. L didn’t do all his cases alone.
As for Misa showing up, no showing up was an extreme blessing at the time as L pretty much had Light cornered after the wire tapping(light failed it but L didn’t mention the reason (because Light father wasnt exactly trustworthy of what he may do if he kept pushing) being that Light was acting too much like a normal person which Light isn’t what Light.)
it's interesting - I... don't actually really like Ryuzaki all that much. it's interesting that multiple people have told me that, though. like I've been called a fanboy and I really don't feel like I am.
it's more so that I just really dislike Light at various points throughout this story, and since Ryuzaki is basically the only one who sees Light for who he is, I guess it comes across like I'm just a big fan of Ryuzaki by default. lol. if anything I'm more a fan of Rem or Matsuda than I was a fan of Ryuzaki.
"despite there being plenty of other reasonable explanations"
This is my biggest problem with L... I know the authors wanted him to close in on Light at a faster pace to make it more exciting, and Light's powers and only him knowing a rules was a huge unfair disadvantage for L. But the amount of times he had asspull conclusions that just so happened to be the right one is too much. Like when he concludes just from Light killing in the weekday afternoons and being childish that he could be a student. It's not unreasonable, my problem is that this is the ONLY conclusion he comes to, when having a 9 to 5 job and being childish as an adult is extremely common, and he doesn't even mention it as a possiblity. Another one is when he deduces that Kira is connected to the police just because he started manipulating the time of death right after the police concluded that he might be a student. As if there couldn't have been at least one or two other, completely valid explanations for this happening at that point in time that he should've at least mentioned. With the way he words it (MIGHT be a student), it's speculative, so he knows it's not certain but he only ever comes up with one logical explanation when there could be multiple, and it's always the correct one.

It would be cool to, while analysing Mello abd Near s arc, also analise the manga, since the anime did dirty to this part of the manga.
Also, a Lot of the stuff you Said "don't make Sense" have an answer in the manga, like a scene with Light activally trying to get restored as much information of the Kira case as possible (the ones deleted by Watari) instead of deleting more of It himself.

So there is an in universe explanation as to why killing the Yotsuba people wouldn't bring suspicion onto Light. So the regular police did have some information in regards to the Kira investigation: Everything up till L took in the task force, and because Higuchi was apprehended with the assistance of the regular Japanese police, coupled with the public broadcast on Sakura TV, the fact that Higuchi was apprehended as a Kira suspect was known to the Japanese police. And building on something mentioned in a future episode, it is known to the task force that Kira could get information from the Japanese police. Since that information was well known to the Japanese police, if they even bothered to question why Yotusba people died, the excuse of Kira must of killed them because of Higuchi would make some sense. However the more likely explanation? They were really just that stupid to not even think about it.
Fantastic!! A new video from you always brightens my day. I haven’t seen Code Geass, but I may have to give it a watch so I can follow along with your analysis. And I really can’t say this enough, but thank you for including closed captions. I can only speak for myself but it means a lot that you put in that extra effort to make these videos more accessible to folks like me. :)
Okay, so, I do wanna apologize for the captions on this one because as I was watching it I realized I had a lot of extra stuff in my script that I forgot to delete - so there are moments where things get really wonky on the subtitles. So, I am sorry about that on this one!
But, aside from that, I definitely recommend Code Geass! And I'm glad you enjoy the videos so much!
i love this channel! so happy to have found it 😊
what a blessing i thought the analysis was over 😁
Happy to see this on the feed
man, watching this brings back memorys of when i watched death note and i love it, so many details i have missed great show hope you grow and get the attention of the youtube coumnity!
thank-you!
Yesss, I agree with everything you said about the rooftop scene. It's so ridiculous and iconic. I love it!!!
Great video, as always.
About time. Welcome back
Just now realizing there is a Plastic Memories reference when Ryuzaki appears as a ghost.
Amazing anime made me cry, you have good taste my good sir.
I hope that you mention how things are different from the manga in comparison to the anime when you cover the next parts, because there's quite a lot that is missing that add a lot of context to coming events.
YOU FINALLY POSTED!!!
Alright i finished the binge of ur entire youtube. Ima need more eps overanalyzing lad.
New video dropping in about a week!
Glad to see another one, just checked on your channel yesterday looking if there was any more out. Also I really enjoyed the code geass episode.
you did? I'm glad to hear it! I've been having a lot of fun with it; the next video I post is going to be another Code Geass one and it's gonna be damn near an hour. lol.
@@overanalyzinganime wait, the code geass episode wasn't a one off for April Fool's? Awesome!
I haven't seen it yet but I'm happy you're diversifying into more anime you enjoy.
@@Aigis31 no, it's definitely a real thing. lol. I probably should not have posted it on April Fool's. lmao.
New video! Finally I love this series
I'm glad you're enjoying it! I hope you end up liking this one, too!
@@overanalyzinganimeI do and I'll keep watching
42:30 I think that this shows the utter incompetence of the task force. The executives had it coming, and I guess no one in the task force would blink an eye to accept the notion that Kira killed them. But Iver and Weddy were criminals whose real identity was unknown to the media, nor had they made a deal with Kira like the people at Yotsuba. The task force should have indeed suspected Light again as soon as Weddy and Iver died.
So, am I the only one who noticed that Misa was held and tortured in a hotel room?
OH MY GOD YES I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T GONNA CONTINUE DEATH NOTE AFTER EPISODE 25
so to light's luck
1. If ryuk wouldn't have told light about the FBi, Mr. Penber would just return a report and investigation would move on, there's 0 chances he would've found anything about light .
2. Yes, meeting Naomi was lucky, but this is on L , he asked all taskforce members to come to the hotel and turn off their phones ( maybe , it's a bit shady how Aizawa returned not even 30 minutes later and the reception guy wasn't all like ... hey, crazy lady has kira info and she left with light).
3. Even if Ryuk wouldn't check for cameras, Light would have gone under the assumtion he's been bugged, or do you think he'd just pick a random sopt in the house to write names and just hope no one is watching? he noticed them not ryuk.
4. How is light Lucky for Misa? She is a happy go lucky person who got into trouble and gave away many clues while light was forced to always bail her out, also subserviant ? yes, fail to follow very easy instructions, also yes.
5. Ryuk writing rules is not a big deal, let's be real here, Light knew or atleast asked if he would write them, before making a plan relying on it. If ryuk says no, then there will just be another plan.
You tend to have this assumption that if the circumstances changed Light's actions would still be the same as they were in the anime, but it's not a fair Assumption;
Hats off to the editor! And always puts a smile in my face when this channel produces a new video!
Are you gonna ever over analyze Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood? Hope so! I mean, the dwarf in the flask is a part of the channel's identity after all lol
I wonder how long Kira would "survive" our world.
Love this channel
Not praise from the legend, L, himself! ‘Preciate it!
@@overanalyzinganime not a problem
I love your channel, Also cant wait for the code geass series :)
The next video will be Episode 02 of Code Geass - and it’s damn near an hour! Lol. I’m looking forward to dropping it!
Made my night!
I hope you enjoy it!
Let’s go 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Loko checking in
Ayeeee! My boy Loko back in the comments section! Hope you’ and your family are doing well!
Sadly I'm a few days late and that sucks. Life's been really busy butt! To explain what light probably did is every single massive building like that will have a server room. In the server room you probably have a bunch of hard drives. These hard drives all store data on discs with electrons. When data is erased it isn't actually erased whether it is put on the computer as " free " storage. What it actually does Is it allows the day to be rewritten later. A lot of the times if unless you use a magnet or destroy the physical drive you can still recover most if not all data found on them.
Hell yeah he’s BACK
Yeeeeeeiiii I felt so impatient to see more Death Note videos :3
Bro thank you for the amazing content as always if you want a suggestion for the next anime I would say Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhoo❤❤
hey now, i believe matsuda could hide the death note and cover it well, he might be volunteering to still seem a bit more helpful to the group, considering he was the only one to “man up” and offer to take care of it
While I don’t disagree, I just think that no one else would ever take him seriously enough to trust him with it. And given his track record with getting caught in the Yotsuba Office and how lax he can be at times, I could see why they’d think that, ya know?
you know what that’s a fair point
37:47 "Operatic" is how I would describe Tetsuro Araki's directing.
love your videos and can't wait for more code geass will you be covering Monster in the future
Why didn't anyone wear an Automatic Electric Defibrillator? (AED)
Would it even work? I always took the heart attack method of death as a guaranteed death, like a gunshot to the heart without a bullet... but that brings up a great question: Could you give emergency medical services to someone who's had a heart attack from the death note? Idk but it's interesting to think about
The Death Note has proven to almost warp reality to make whatever is written in it come true, to an extent. Once it’s written they will die by heart attack, they’re going to die regardless of whatever circumstances surround them. I’d imagine the defibrillator malfunctions, or just doesn’t work.
your the best i love your videos i love watching you when i have nothing to do
This bro never misses
YESSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
FOR TWO MONTHS
Sorry for the wait… but we’re back, baybeee!!
Light: "... I alone am the god of the new world "
damn L really is lucky ryuk wasnt as bothered to be followed by mogi as he was to be followed by ray penber
Damn, I didn't even consider the fact that Ryuk just said screw it when Mogi did it. -- I guess the only thing I could argue in his defense is that maybe Mogi was better about keeping his distance? but, idk, tbh.
i marathoned this entire overanalyzed series in 2 days, i didn't expect a new episode to come out halfway through. anyway it's some good shit
My guy is baaack!
You already know! I hope you enjoy the video!
1:18
If you think about it ryuk telling light about raye penber is what jeopardized light. He would have been cleared permanently from the investigation if he had just waited 1 more day
To be honest the whole thing could’ve worked out for Light if he never acted as confrontational as he did. Like he was so hell-bent on playing along with L’s game and eventually killing him, but if he just tried to solely evade attention he likely never would’ve been caught onto.
If there is a NEW Kira, empowered by a Shinigami, the Shinigami could easily know about the details of the prior investigation. That would include a lot of surrounding details. If they're making a game of it, as every Kira has before- including Rem, or rather her actions could be spun that way since she didn't just massacre the lot of them- why not kill the bit players and leave the hunters around?
Being a new Kira also tracks with the MASSIVE uptick in kills that follows Light winning, and the logic established previously in the investigation.
Worth the wait
I'm glad you pointed out how lucky Light was that things actually worked out in his favour, I sometimes see people who overlook that and say that his win means he is just straightup smarter, which I don't believe. Sure, his plan to kill L was genius, he pretty much cornered him, it's pretty heavily implied L knew he was about to die once he saw all the pieces, but couldn't do anything about it anyway. But you can't say L didn't get Light good a few times as well, especially the broadcast thing was similiarly pure genius. I believe they were about evenly matched, all things considered.
I also think it's worth mentioning that Light and L weren't exactly playing the same game. Sure, "whoever's identity is revealed first, dies", but there's a key difference between them - L works on the side of the law, but Kira does not. L needs to:
1. Sus out who Kira is.
2. Gather enough evidence to convince the justice system.
Light only needs to do step one, as he is the judge, jury and executioner of his side. If he thinks someone should die, they will - that's kind of the whole point. L, working within the law, has to convince other people Light is guilty, which can be an issue if the Task Force's reactions to L's arguments are any indication.
Kind of ironic, that L could've won if only he shared Kira's ideology of just executing criminals by your own hand...
