Historically Italy mostly consisted of L3/33 based vehicles to realistically this is rather a realistic result of a theoretical event
And post war, the italian army had m24 (518) m47s (2.000), m60s (300) and leopard 1s (bout 700)
And with france
m47 (854), m24 (1254)

France didn;t have M24's, M47's, Leo 1's and M60's or any of the other vehicles your referring to at all.
Also you said M24 twice. Which contradicts your claim of 518 previously.
It had none of those in WW2 or before. Given the time frame of the L3's which is roughly around 1928->1940

I edited it to make it clearer, mostly about these countries having for the most part imported vehicles during the cold war

Italy lost the first match bc too many spawned in L3s, either you didn't communicate the rules well or the players are noobs.
Exactly Italians have so many amazing armored cars at low tiers but everyone wants to be the funny guy in an R3🙄
@@anthonylopez1126no but the m41 semoventes would have been perfect for countering french tanks with the juice 100 mm heat and nice tnt, instead no one used them very stupid game semoventes are literally the pinnacle of the italian armoured divisions in ww2

Very cool idea, would love to see other nations (or france vs italy part 2), although to be fair rank 1 france seems to be a hard counter to rank 1 italy, and the secon match was more italy vs america than italy vs france

@@ThunderWithMuffin Also thr Unfair part is, no one really plays italy and everyone got the L3 so they can participate in the first round so that is unfair bc the M14 is actually good and planes are very good but no one plays italy everyday so they dont have the right tactics etc.
I mean Italy lose just becouse thier team trolled it hard with L3 and then with Era 1 vehicles
They'd have lost anyway, even a team of (somewhat experienced) M4A1s equiped mostly with HE shells could've easily taken care of Italy during round 2 due to their complete lack of armour ; and top tier would've been dominated by France easily as the Italian Ariete family is known for basically being the worst top tier MBT family in the game while the Leclerc family is known for being quite balanced and effective, and for having the second fastest shell in the game, a few meters per second behind top tier China.
(Just in case, I main France, and play Italy as a secondary nation, mostly for planes)

@@dedy__5622 the little bit about the leclerc's shell is here as a "fun fact" only, not as an argument ; had I wanted it to be an argument it would've been way more developped.
Rank 2 and 3 Italy has unarmored, or very poorly armored vehicles with good guns and somewhat armored vehicles with shitty guns ; against a team made of 80-100% Jumbos (if Italy plays it serious and smart, lets assume France does it too) they'd get fucked twice over, a team of Tigers, T-34-85s or IS-1s would get fucked twice over by a team of 80-100% jumbos.
@@thekralj5132 meh, they're good but they aren't the best, better than French IFVs for sure cause right now there's only one in the tech tree, and it's premium, and only has a bush Master autocannon.
But I know a nation that would completely destroy Italy without any trouble, Israel, the merkava's engine layout makes it insanely effective at tanking ATGMs and low caliber APFSDS shells/rounds ; nice IFVs would be useless against 'em and Arietes still are the worst top tier MBTs in the game.
You should do another video like this but with all the countries, like a showdown to find the best country

@@tplays6688 Actual no, I am Russia main but I also play Germans, and my K/D ratio is way better with the germans, they also feel much easier to play.

This didn't really feel like a fair match up at all. It was clear most of the Italian team was "memeing" with everyone using L3, and R3's, and even some 1.0 tanks in that Rank 3 match, while the French used actual tanks. Along with just the differences in their kit... France getting the Jumbo, and M36, while Italy gets the Sherman Firefly, and M18, which I saw very little of. It felt like the Italian team were trying to stay "true" and use mostly actual Italian vehicles, while France didn't hesitate to send out the Jumbos. I would want to see a rematch with both nations using exclusively THERE vehicles, and not lend-lease from other nations.
Yes plus not allowing rank 1 tanks/planes into rank 3
It was compensated by some people taking the arl acl1 one of the worst vehicle in the game

R3 are overpowered so I don't think it was an issue
In round 1 I was confused why many participants were spawning in as an L3 since there are better rank I tanks that Italy has. I’ll be doing more nation vs nation events and all are welcome to join that would like to participate.
I have been wanting this specific matchup like this for so long. I have a little baby and when I'm holding him so he can go to sleep I've been thinking about what would happen with these two tech trees so thank you so much

I really don't feel this was representative of Italy's performance. Memeing in the L3 in rank 1 is funny but those people knew what they were doing. Italy rank 1 is much better than france. On the second match we saw the same thing happening, so many R3s. While it is a good vehicle, you need to field more than that. That shot where you see 3 R3s killing an ARL44 shows how much the R3 needs to work to get a kill, just spawn in one of italy's amazing tank destroyers.

Italy Rank 1 is more META with all armored cars but the French with their D2 and S35 are far more resiliant and will make short work of anything Italian in front of them while being virtually invulnerable to return fire if the guy in the D2 or S35 angles. However due to the map layout, yes the Italian should have easily cleaned house even with L3 to be honnest... The issue came from the Italian team failing to support the rest of their team trying to stop the French S35 and D2 push on the western side of the map, it also happenned that in this situation, the S35 and D2 could make full use of their strenghts being armor and firepower ( relative to the Italian vehicle amount of armor ). The problem was not spawning in L3, but mostly how they were used.
@@monfortnicolas5448 the Italian main cannon in that br has 68 mm pen aphe which easily goes through anything that isn't a b1. the l3 doesn't have any pen so really idk what you're smoking.
@@ayuvir Yes it does at point blank, but the pen rapidly drops with distance. Both S35 and D2 can acheive 50 mm + of armor with some angling and therefore be invulnerable to the Italain canon past few hundreds of meters. On the oposite, SA35 gun will easily punch through the italian tanks at the same distance even if they angle because the armor is just too thin. S35 and D2 are the tanks i have the best KD with. When played properly there is very few ennemy can do frontally unless they drive a vehicle that retains 60 mm of pen at 500 meters. That's the figure of penetration you need to reliably pen S35 and D2 at distance.
@@monfortnicolas5448 Yes and the lancia makes short work of anything at range while most of the italian tanks using that gun are incredibly fast and stealthy, meanwhile you see a ton of people rocking the l3 that gets 35? mm of pen instead, certainly not what you'd take if this was a serious test. There's only one instance of someone using the As42 for flanking.

Normally you have an air of excitement when commentating. However; during ruound 1 you just seemed to be so confused and frustrated that people wanted to use the L3 lmao
Awww would have loved to see Ariete vs Leclerc. Also I think you should remake the video since lot of participants were just meming and didn't really try to compete at all, while france at least were true to their role of trying to win. Every other era 1 vehicle would have been better than the l3. For the r3 on the second matchup i'm ok with it since it's fast and can be a biiig trouble for the enemy team
Not a fair game after all I haven't seen ONE semovente wich are the best to counter these tanks and I'm not kidding.
Many players are extremely noob in italy in this matches probably don't have more than 20 vehicles in italy and just playing to get to use the r3 later , should give another try with some Italy mains wich would much more likely flip the situation

Having both the Leclerc and Ariete, and to nobody's surprise the Leclerc is far superior. But I prefer the Ariete so much. It is much sexier to me and that is an important point to me
I mean obviously, the ariete Is a old and obsolete tank for modern standards
@@alessiobrlol98 I know but I still prefer the Ariete over the Leclerc for esthetic reasons and a decent player can still do a decent job with it. I mean it probably ain't the best but it still has decent firepower, mobility and FCS. The only drawback being the armor and ammo placements.

I was in the f6f and I was the only person in the sky for quite a while. After shooting down the first cr 32, i faced no competition from any other fighters. Sadly, I wished we could had cold war tanks and planes which would be really fun, but we never got to it.

As an Italy main, they should have cleaned house.
The issue is that Italian players don't take the game seriously, you're putting a pack of class clowns against the sweatiest of the sweats.
You can see this easily with the amount of players using the L3/33 and the R3T20, and those frogs using the D2 (known as the strongest French rank 1) and the sheer amount of Jumbos (strongest 5.3 tank in terms of armour)
Really this was a flawed experiment, but you can see the true power of Italian players at the end.
You've also messed with the planes that the Italians can use, where the frogs can use their prime planes (F6F and such) the Italians were limited to the dreadful G55 (instead of gold like the Re2005 or the Re2001).
Looking at the nations makes me sick, France with Italy? They're opposites they're never meant to duel. Instead I propose Italy v Japan | France v Britain. Both nations fight with their counterparts - weak armour, big gun v weak armour, big gun - and vice versa. For a guy who puts tanks up against each other so often you disappointed me with this release.
In conclusion you either should repeat the test, telling the Italians to be serious, or exclude certain vehicles (L3/33 and Jumbo) as Italy could've pulled the easiest win against those frogs.

Gaijin absolutely hates the Italian tech tree and the players who try to do anything with it.
I was suprised to see the french M36 because I thought it is a rank 4 vehicle, because the american is rank 4, the italian is rank 4, the japanese is rank 4 and chinese is rank 4 aswell, bet the french is rank 3 and I thought that they are cheating. I mean it is not a problem because the br is the same and it wouldn't matter in a real match, but here here it was an unfair advantage.

Day 1 of a suggestion: I have an idea where you put a battleship vs tier 1 coastal fleet ships maybe the battleship could get bigger each round but the tier 1 coastal fleet ships stay the same

Heres the thing in war thunder french tanks have survivability ive been shot by 4 tanks at the same time in a C1 but it lacks firepower while italian tanks have firepower but lack survivability

In all seriousness, I blame this on the lack of coordination on the Italian team. I would have expected to see more AS 42/47s and Lancias rather than a bunch of L3's.
Yeah ok, but it didn’t count in my opinion because there was jumbos (American at 5.3) fighting Italian light tanks at 2~3) so pretty unfair in my opinion, with same br and original france and Italian vehicles would be better

I expected such from France never doubt French vehicles.
People complaining over the Italian players being stupid, I get it to an extent but they also decided that lol. I hope we can see a rematch some day without the L3 so people will relax about it, it's just a funny game with unrealistic gameplay. But if you do a rematch you should DQ the R3 as well, that thing shouldn't be in the line ups facing off against WW2 era stuff, they're triple the speed of anything else in the game at that BR and can move and control faster. If not for the Jumbos, those R3's would have run a lot more havoc. I just don't know, I know it's a dumb game but the R3 is so anachronistic it just really shouldn't be there.
A good idea for the next video related to this one. Make the participants actually use the countries vehicles and not lend lease ones
