      Glad you enjoyed it and it really is an awesome community. It's not always that you find a group of like minded people, all over the world I might add, that care for each other as the modeling community. Yeah, there have been some bad eggs, but they get scrambled eventually.

      It can be hard for people to understand just how tough it can be living with it every day, but that can be said for any type of aliment we as humans go through. I also have type 2 diabetes and if you don't have it, you can't understand the struggle it is everyday looking at the foods we eat, counting not calories, but sugar and carb content. Thank you for such a thought provoking question!

    Hi Larry, very sorry to hear about your tinnitus. I do have to sleep with a white noise generating machine in order to be able to block out all the other noises. So not being able to ignore the noise that's going on in my hearing would be a big problem for me. So I understand how frustrating this could be for you. Thank you for sharing your story. and I couldn't agree with you more about the sentiments of how the community is for the rest of us and the support they can offer. Take care, BG

      Thank you so much for your response to this video. It's aways awesome when a video we make can generate a response from other's within the community. Yeah, luckily, I'm able to deal with the noise in my ears. It was amazing to hear the Dr tell me some people just can't deal with it. I'm not sure I could actually handle a white noise machine. I know that sounds funny when I've got this noise in my ears all of the time. Well, to each his own right!? Take care!

    Sorry to hear that Larry i know where your coming from I also have that tinnitus form working in a noisy body shop as your have said there is no cure for it I took part in a new program with the hospital where they give me a tiny noise generator to put in my ears to try and drowned out the tinnitus the whole point of this program the ENT doctor said to me is that this new device will train your brain to forget the tinnitus and focus on this new noise which is a bit pointless had to use them at night when I was asleep I tried them for a 18 month period before i quite the program maybe some day they will find a cure for it as millions of people around the world suffer from it 👍👍

    • @LarrysModelShop
      @LarrysModelShop  Před měsícem

      I'm not sure trading one noise for anther is any better. I've dealt with this one for so long now, my brain is kind of used to it. Introducing a different one would be horrible. Thanks for sharing that.

    Larry, I too have really bad tennitus. It has gotten much worse lately, my life of being around the grinding machines I use in my business, as well as loud car and bike engines, has taken it's toll. Yes, there are times when it is maddening. I just recently read that some people have it so bad, that a physician can put a stethoscope to a patients ear and hear it! (I may be close!) Mine is constant also. In my office, I have a disc playing the sound of the ocean all day every day. Ceiling fans can help when you are trying to go to sleep. There are many "white noise" machines available that play the sound of rain, streams, etc; that can help as well. I'm not a pill popper, so I say no to any drug too, and there is really no cure. The airbrush has been my go-to place most of my life for sanctuary from anxiety, which directly correlates with my model building. Thanks for sharing!

      Man, yours sounds like it can get pretty rough. at it's worst, mine can sound like coqui frogs. Google it and see what they say about those little buggers. I'm so glad I found model building again. Have a great weekend coming up and thank you for sharing that you also have this problem.

    15 years as a firearms instructor so yep, about 99% of the time. That 1% is always so nice! I didn't even mention this in my video on mental health, it's just so much a part of daily life

    • @LarrysModelShop
      @LarrysModelShop  Před měsícem +1

      Firearms instructor is a tough one. It's not a constant loud noise, but man, it's loud when they do go off. Even with proper hearing protection, that sound is loud and sharp. It would be nice to have a 1% like you have. Instead, I have an opposite 1%. In the form of a high pitch scream in my right ear every once in a while. That will get your attention!

    • @pappytinkers
      @pappytinkers Před měsícem +1

      @@LarrysModelShop perhaps I wrote it wrong, I have the ringing about 99% of the time. But those little breaks are nice. I don't get the "screams" , I don't want to imagine that!

    • @LarrysModelShop
      @LarrysModelShop  Před měsícem

      @@pappytinkers Nope, you wrote it correctly. Maybe I wrote my reply wrong. Your 1% of no noise would be nice. For me, there's no time that I don't have the ringing and 1% of the time I'll get that scream.

    • @pappytinkers
      @pappytinkers Před měsícem

      @@LarrysModelShop that really sucks that you don't get the break! Do you find that certain tones hurt? Like a high pitched bark or child

I understand how it can bring people down and I don't have anything negative to say about anyone that needs help dealing with tinnitus. Like all things in life, we each deal with things differently. Take care my friend and thank you!!

    I don't think that I've ever gotten mad enough at a kit that I've either thrown it in the trash, or worse, throw it against the wall. My chopped 49 Merc was the first kit that I ever customized. It would get frustrated and put it back in the box, work on it again maybe 6 or 8 months later, get frustrated again, back in the box it went. That build took me 4 years, and I have some anger issues that modeling seems to take from me.

    • @LarrysModelShop
      @LarrysModelShop  Před měsícem +1

      That's how it's been for me. Never tossed a kit or thrown one. Not sure I could do one as wall art. For the most part, it focuses my energy in positive ways
