I’ve been in a few times here’s the code: speak German politely enough to express that you’re not a native speaker and the attempt is appreciated. Wear all black, or dark colors, don’t look too American...as in trainers and sweats. Be casual in your demeanor, they smell fear. No large groups, 2-3 people is best, BE QUIET in line, like silent. Smile, briefly, as to the drinking and drugs, I say no to the drugs and that I’ve had a drink but am not drunk...YET. I’m also 42 and age doesn’t matter at all, it’s all about vibe and they want people there who aren’t there as spectators, it’s a genuinely good club and they want the experience saved for true appreciation not status people there for novelty. It’s not hard, go late Saturday night or Friday night after midnight and you’re in. Also, KNOW WHO IS SPINNING!!! It’s an insult to want in for a stranger, they really care if you care enough to bother. It’s not about beauty, age, money or status...all you have to do is stand in line and see who gets in and voila, if you don’t feel confident and comfortable they’ll send you off because again they want you to have fun not be overwhelmed and bewildered.
Not like any of us are going to Berghain any time soon anyhow.

But, like I said, I’m 42, I’m 5’10” I wear clogs and modest dresses no leather or spikes jewelry, I’ve got very long dark wavy hair and I don’t really wear makeup...smile but not too much, just, be yourself, no affectation. I almost didn’t get into Reina in Istanbul. I was dressed WAY down, not jeans down but I didn’t prepare for the night, we came upon it organically and they wanted you to look MONEY. I was with friends from Yale so we had a Greek woman, a Spanish woman, a French man, a Dutch man two Turkish friends and another American man and myself, a large group and some of us were better looking/wealthier looking than others and they gave me a hard up and down and I know I looked SLOPPY, all white linen dress wrinkled with a FOOD stain on the front, frazzled hair and pit stains...not my finest hour after a day dragging my ass around Istanbul. I think my belt and accessories saved me, but it was close and I sort of wanted to leave because it is expensive and overrated...the view is amazing and it’s got some really chill peaceful seating that makes it worth it but after the shooting I don’t even know if it’s still there?
But that one..:yeah, they’ll give you a HARD up and down and they say nothing, it’s all looks, totally shallow. You can be unattractive so long as you wear a Rolex.
