    This is a video on how to remove the aerator on a Moen faucet. Normally aerators are cylindrical and threaded, and they screw into the faucet, yet this newer design doesn't have an easy screw-in aerator, and anyway, I thought this video may be helpful.

    Appreciate the video, it helped me uninstall the stock aerator. On another note, I am hoping to get more information from you or a commenter. This faucet allows water to come out in a 'laminar flow' which causes excess splashing. I contacted Moen to see if they had an aerator that I could replace for one that 'bubbled' the water flow. The Moen agents said they had the part but after receiving them it didn't changed the flow method. For those of you who need a replacement aerator, just give Moen a call, they will ship one to you free of charge. Part #185910 is 1 gpm and Part #181089 is 1.2 gpm. Unfortunately, they do not have an aerator that bubbles the water... very disappointed.

    • @heyitsjosh
      @heyitsjosh  Před 11 měsíci

      I would go one size up, or use metric instead of imperial/standard. Often the metric and imperial sizes are just slightly off, so one of my tricks is to use the opposite of what's normally used to see if 'slightly bigger' works better.

      Flow restrictor is inside the round part closest to the water pipe the whole aerator assembly, opposite the flat end. Mine was pink plastic. Needle nose plier or a safety pin straightened out will coak out the round restrictor. My water flow increased 200% removing the pink restrictor.

    • @heyitsjosh
      @heyitsjosh  Před 2 lety

      I did remove the handles, and it was very easy...not to caulk though, but because the installer left one a bit off-center, so I had to re-adjust it. If I remember correctly, you just spin the base that's just below the handle (on top of the vanity, not the part where your hands touch the tap to turn on/off, but the base just below the handle - that which the hand part is connected to. I think you hold the handle tightly and then spin the base and the handle itself pops off...) I will try tonight at home and report back.
