Awesome review brother. I am a HUGE fan of vertical handhelds and my first semi good device i owned was the RG353VS i know its not that old but i have known about these devices for as long as they existed LOL. But now i own my most favorite machine in the world the RG405V with custom buttons to make it look like the atomic purple gameboy color from my day. I wish i could send you some photos its worth looking at in my opinion. Anyway good job again brother.
Thank you! RP2s and the RG405v became my upgrade options. Before the two launched, it was between one of the RG353 variants. So much time is spent waiting to upgrade because these things are coming out so fast now. It’s hard to determine what will have the best long term value, or if it’s better to wait for next quarter’s device releases.
I got pulled into handheld gaming again after steam deck was announced. Haven't owned a portable since GBA! Then I discovered these cheaper retro-oriented devices and was blown away by the design and performance of Retroid Pockets! Almost went with the RP3+ but when thinking about the games I'll mostly be playing on this device I thought the 4:3 will be a closer fit to most retro games. The better hall sticks solidified my decision. I'm glad to see you have good taste in style, as I also went with the indigo! It's that same color of GBA I owned as a kid so it's pretty nostalgic for me!

I really enjoy playing on my rp2s my only complaint is the lack of a fan on the back like the flip and battery life since it could be a little better
After I watched Kei's Retro Gaming channel's RP2s teardown. I can see now why they couldn't UP the battery to the 4,500mAh and still maintain a near-GBA size
But I do wish we could opt for T618 RP2s along with the current 2 buying options. It's better performance even without a fan in the RP3+

RP2S - minimum 3GB ram inside

RP2S - Unisoc T610 CPU

How long did it take to get your rp2s delivered ? Just wondering as i ordered one from retroid store. Great video i enjoyed. Have u tried any gamecube resident evils or metroid? I know they had few metal gears also. I know this doesnt run gamecube the best but was curious on more titles that be playable. Like mario kart or luigi mansion. Maybe make a review for what games run good bad for gamecube and ps2. If possible id appreciate it. Have a great day.
It all depends on where you live and what shipment method did you use? I have the RP2+ and it runs some GameCube games fine. In fact, I was playing Zelda Wind Waker today and was enjoying myself. This is supposed to be a bit more powerful so I'd imagine GameCube would be great.

My next video is likely to be my showcasing PS2 games, followed by Gamecube showcase and actually yeah RE4, Metroid and 1 of the Metal Gears, Smash and Mario Sunshine are sure to be in it but I don't think I have Luigi's Mansion.
Dude, I'm in the same boat, only had an rg350 before, and just the other day ordered this one, cos the screen on 350 got busted.😀 How do you feel, how's the screen and face buttons compared to RG350?
Sorry to hear about the busted 350 display but hey 3 years later and it's a pretty nice time to upgrade right now with how many options there are! I'm loving the 2s. It's my go-to all-the-time device because it's a nearly Gameboy Advance-sized little thing that's just so capable. In a way it almost makes me feel like I'm still playing on my own old indigo GBA again
The 2s screen just pops more. A big part of that aside from the higher resolution, is that I think the 2s has a laminated display. So at all angles, I don't feel a plastic layer between myself and the actual screen and the colors come through nicely. In terms of face buttons I like the travel on Anbernic's 350 face buttons better, but the 2s has better trigger button placement (stacked and are analog) and the 2s has a far better D-Pad. I do not like how much resistance the 350 D-pad has. When I'm playing on the 2s, i do miss the roundness of the bottom of the RG350 is, it's more comfortable on the palms.
By the way if it's just the screen of your 350 that was damaged (even if the plastic over the screen is also damaged), if you can still manage to get the part, you can replace the RG350 display with a laminated one that has the same resolution as the 2s. There are several guides on YT on how to do it
I had a RG350 which I bricked trying to run mario64 😂 well I have a steam deck and a retroid 2S now so it's all good
Have you ever noticed input lag on any of your devices? I'm looking at a miyoo mini plus and now I'm hung up on input lag but maybe its not actually a big deal.
I feel like I get a little input lag on my OneGx-1, but I haven’t detected any input lag on any of my other devices.
You need to change the emulator cores under profile in mupen64. Some games run better on different cores within the emulator.

@@NicMusubi hrm. For what it's worth, if you get trixarian's aethersx2, it actually has better performance.
I do want to upgrade to Nethersx2, but for some reason the on-screen keyboard my 2s does not work in Termux@@Patrick-bn5rp
UPDATE: Hey I actually got on-screen keyboard to work inside Termux after switching to a different version of Termux! With that, I successfully switched to Nethersx2 patch and though the difference isn't gigantic, performance is noticeably better and thermals somehow are better too@@Patrick-bn5rp

Are you using American ROMs or European? Because if you are using American ROMs you should switch to European.
True, I do wish mine were all PAL Roms so that the full-speed in games would be easier to hit
