I love Panama, I lived in Panama for almost 3 years. I wish them well
P WHALES Literally no one gives a shit
@@Ar938 you do care since you commented
Take this L
This is sad... Being panameian and american citizen makes me feel bad about these people forced to move... I know its better for them to be in a new community with enough infrastructure but this region has fight for independence and to preserver their ancient way of live and now they are facing the worst, even if they try to preserve their culture forcing them to move to mainland isn't the same as living in island communities... Thers are hundreds of islands surrounding this community with thousands of indigenous residents and most likely all them will have to do the same... This is Panama but this is happening around the globe and affecging the most vulnerable communities... We should stop fighting on how much federal budget we will assigned for climate change fight or how costly will be to use better and clean products that might help to reduce the global warming and do something about this... Our future as humans rely on what you will do today to help planet earth. G-d Bless America and Panama
God bless on Panama & its people..
And now its real happen. 😢
She's gorgeous
Hopefully the area they are moving to is a lot higher or it'll get flooded by rising sea water as well.
has anyone got the sources for the info in this video
Wow.
God bless natives, I appreciate you peace and love.🙏😇
I wonder where they throw their trash
NO NAME judging by the video the sides of the island since there's a shit ton of trash
They trow it into the sea, because they said that ''there are no more options''.
@@joshuacruzoller8305 I strongly doubt that's their trash. That washes up on the shore. That's likely from Panama City.

Where do you think! They polluted the ocean. Everything goes there. Contamination!
hopefully it had a good run
There's too many people living there.
But still they dont care about not dropping plastic in the ocean.

No one could ever have thought evacuation of island would be that early ( 2024)

Mabango Nyikuri yes
I would love to live in a place like that. Seems peaceful and away from all the drama occurring in our world.
Kind of wild to assume they don't have all the normal dramas of life just because they live on an island.
So it’s because they wrecked their coral reef now there is erosion. Pretty plain. The solution as well btw, every fisherman brings rocks in stead of fish twice a week and those who don’t fish plant tree’s or get dirt from somewhere problem solved in a couple years
Finally, someone who actually listened! Exactly right. They no longer have the natural barrier to keep flooding at bay due to it's destruction by the residents. Good to see someone paying attention
We can build up islands and we can raise cities. Why are raising waters seen as a problem?
They said at the start that these indigenous people emits the greenhouse gas least and suffers the most that suffering made them know how severe is the global warming and those American politicians lives in skyscrapers why would they care about global warming.
❤️🌟🌺
We're doomed! :(
Last Days People.. .
The world is not ending
At 3:10, a key factor is exposed. They've mined the reef for generations, which can no longer act as a barrier.
Don't move the residents. Panama should cordone off the island and fill it up with dirt. Guyana built and island from scratch. Japan Kansai airport was built on a manmade island.
:(
I am realy love this video but I am very curious about the angle of this video. Yes indigenous people are being displaced but I am sure there are other people living on the island. in my opinion people who were born on there can be just as effected by the same problem. I am just curious on the decision to only focus on indigenous peoples and not everyone
Its an indigenous community they are the only ones living there.
I am Panamanian, and no one is allowed to buy their land, not even Panamanians. The only people that live there are indigenous.
Why are all of the people on the island not working to build there new town and just sitting and waiting for a government that can not complete this task.
I Live in Panamá... Never heard of this problem before. This is complete news to me.
Really? I live here to and i knew about it :/
This has been passing for so many years already.
Five years later they're packing their bags to leave.

purging is the solution my dear fellow citizen.. free there soul!
Lol well hopefully no sensitive people starting replying with hate comments because no one can take a joke these days it's so stupid
370 million indigenous people? Everyone is indigenous of their place of origin, han Chinese are indigenous to central China, Germans are indigenous of central Europe and so on, so 370M its certainly not true
