  • Ride along with me as Allan Moore teaches me the finer points of 4-point rolls, loops, and spins in the Super Decathlon. Allan is a brilliant, patient teacher and I learned a ton by flying aerobatic maneuvers at the Patty Wagstaff Aerobatic School. I'm definitely a safer pilot for my time there.

    G, day WY Fly Guy, from Sydney, Australia.
    WINGS LEVEL
    My compliments on the filming. Fantastic images of the plane surfaces: fabric stresses and vibrational loading.
    The stick and rudder of the four-point spin was interesting, but, the progression into a spiral was somewhat confusing.
    Critical Thinking: return to wings level, right rudder and recover to straight and level flight.
    (Secondary consideration: more altitude) gives adequate recovery space.
    Thanks WY Fly Guy.
    🤹‍♂️

      Altitude is our friend. The roll is the toughest thing I tried for sure!

    This instructor would need to give an extensive preflight briefing on what he expects for his non standard terms and phrases.

      There is a lengthy preflight briefing for sure.

    I know what the backseat guy mesns but i dont think the guy in the front seat always is understanding him. This better be the 3rd or 4th flight for the student

    I used to fly aerobatics, also in a 8KCAB, but terms toes up and toes down are new to me, what do they mean?

    • @wyflyguy114
      @wyflyguy114  Před 2 lety

      He was referring to my toes being too high on the rudders and not allowing me to feel the rudders as well I think.

      I feel like this is where somebody inserts “that’s what she said”. I wouldn’t do that of course, I’m much too mature.
